  • “I’ve sat right where you’re sitting.” Shea (Sam Elliott) comforts Elsa (Isabel May) after the loss of Ennis (Eric Nelsen). Watch 1883 exclusively on Paramount+.
    #ParamountPlus #1883
1883, a Yellowstone origin story, follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, 1883 is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land - Montana.

My grandpa, a 7th calvary Vietnam veteran watched this show from beginning to end. He had lived so long and done so much, and lost so much. He was a hard but proud man. I can only count so many time I've ever seen him cry. He cried at the end of this show. And I'm happy to have watched this phenomenal show with him.

Lost my best friend and the only woman I've ever loved 5 days before Christmas. I was on a self destructive path because I didn't know how to live without her. I watched this scene the other day and it really put things into perspective for me. Although she is gone, she still lives on through me. Watching this made me feel less alone and gave me hope that I'll see her again, in this life of the next ❤

I give Isabel a huge amount of credit for resisting the urge to brush the hair out of her face during this scene. It must have been bugging the hell out of her but she knew that Elsa was grieving and wouldn't have noticed or cared about her hair at that moment.

I know these were scripted lines, but as he spoke these words I knew that he was speaking a truth that no one in this world would ever be able to speak. These words pulled me out of a hole that I had fallen into and helped me ask for help after I lost my mother in 2022. When I find myself missing her and starting to head back to that hole I play this video because it reminds me that she is still with me. Thank you Mr. Elliot.
