I was going through one ink cartridge every 20 days just printing shipping labels. If you're selling five items a day you definitely need a thermal. Don't need ink and the labels are cheaper it pays for itself in no time

yeah I've been selling on ebay since 99 and always just printed on a hp and scissored them out and package taped them on . i even remember when usps said "do not tape over label" and i was like okay how and what do you want me to attach this ebay generated piece of paper with? spit? went through that for like ten years without an issue and usps finally stopped saying that. now the only occasional issue is fedex seems to like to kick out a package for "shipping delayed - barcode label distorted had to reprint" like they just needed to send out some massive blast mail to say why they weren't going to get 20 million packages to their destination within a week. your video caught my attention through another one so i watched it and it was well made. i would like to have the ease of printing the peel and stick but not for 200 dollars up front. maybe if something comes up for little or no cost i will try it. if i can source the blank label relatively cheaply. T Y

you might want to mention as in my case, not following all the directions, is that if you have been printing from a regular printer and cutting and taping the labels on a size 8x11, you do need to go to the selling platform and change the label size from 8x11 to 4x6, took me a few print failures to figure that out. And, you have to change the sizing before you hit print because it won't change to correct sizing after you hit print, one more thing to remember is to change your printer location depending if you're printing a regular sheet of paper from your regular printer or printing from Rollo. These simple changes got me everytime. Rollo is a great printer, love it, thanks for the demo, Can I insert a blonde joke here?

@@joenwc A blonde woman decides that she is sick and tired of all the blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid, so she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart. While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she is OK. She replies yes. He asks what she is doing. She replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb and she wanted to do it by painting the house. He then asks her why she has a ski jacket over her fur coat. She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and they said, "For best results, put on two coats."

I want to find a printer to print labels for my products. Does this type printer allow for light grays or "depth" for lack of a better term? My labels have a diagram built in solid works that allows the consumer to see how the product is installed. I'm already printing on peel off labels but like the efficiency of this type printer. Currently print 500-750 labels per month. Should be at 1250 in the next few weeks.

Wholeheartedly agree with the half sheet label option. I did that for a long time before I bought the Rollo (which I LOVE!) Another thing about the Rollo is that if you ship a lot through UPS you can get FREE labels! So your only cost would be the printer itself. Also, they are coming out with a WIFI option and my understanding is that they will give you the hardware to make this one backward compatible on request.

I am not going to switch out labels for each package. You can if you like. I have been finding that flat rate on UPS is getting better, so I use them more. I don't know man, having a thermal printer for an eBay, etsy, et al business is a BIG DEAL. The amount of work and time it saves me is insane. It's the single best investment to an online retail business anyone can make, especially if you use sticky labels, which why wouldn't you?

I’m in Australia and I don’t have a desktop/laptop system I only have my Apple iPhone and iPad devices so I was looking for a wireless/Bluetooth thermal printer to print my labels. I found one that seem to be amazing however to print one label from the time you press print from the app it took 65 seconds for the printer to start printing. And when I contacted the company they said that that was normal. So I quickly returned it because it was 10 times quicker for me to print with my usual printer onto paper and sticky tape it to the parcels as I’m really not sending more than a couple of items per day.

Cover Girl has entered the chat. 👀 lol... No but in all seriousness, the Rollo thermal printer design is the superior design over the Dymo 4XL, and the worst thing about Dymo is that they're price gauging and taking advantage of the huge influx of resellers buying thermal printers and their asking price is ridiculous; also the only printer you ever hear of having issues is the Dymo; not the Rollo.
I personally decided to go with Phomemo with my thermal printer purchase. It has the same printer layout/design as the Rollo, and arguably even nicer (in my opinion)! I actually released a video about it as well just a couple of weeks ago! Not sponsored. I love it. It's beautiful piano white & black, and it just works. Best part is, it was CAD$50 cheaper than the Rollo, and CAD$100 cheaper than the friggen Dymo 4XL. 😎👌

Jody Mitoma's Videos in your opinion you think I should go with the Phomemo printer over the Rollo?

Good review, I may be leaning a little more towards the Rollo over the Dymo once my business picks up a little bit.

It has been brought to my attention that you can order 4x6 thermal labels from UPS for free and they come in a case of 6,000! I just ordered my Rollo printer today, do you know if these labels work in the Rollo printer and can you use them to print labels for USPS labels as well even though they came from UPS?

The free UPS labels are meant for customers that use UPS to ship all of their items. It should be obvious that you UPS doesn't want you using their free labels to ship priority mail through the USPS which is how we ship 95% of our items. We just made a decision that aligned with our morals and ethics to just buy our own labels on Amazon. They are pretty cheap and I feel confident using them to ship with any carrier since we paid for them ourselves.

Thanks for the product review! Could you also just use a regular (non-thermal) printer for your individual bar code labels for Amazon FBA purposes?

Ouch just the amount you would have saved by not paying the extra at the post office you could have bought like 10 rollos

No. It only prints greyscale. Really only used for shipping labels

Has anybody encountered the white line issue that occurs sometimes? I just got a real good deal on a pre-owned one because of the white line issue, I cleaned it with alcohol and it still prints a thin white line.. any idea?

Have had mine for couple weeks now and the only issue I have is the poor quality of the print on Amazon shipping labels (FBA and seller fulfilled). Everything else comes out fine...eBay, UPS, FedEx. Also the free case of 6000 fan fold labels from UPS was enough to last for the rest of my reselling days. Can’t beat that.

@@HairyTornado Yesterday there were several updates not just to Windows but for drivers. I do not know if it was because it was the shut off date for Windows 7 and someone had nothing better to do but sometimes when the drop updates they have bugs and a couple of days later will drop a fix as an update. Like next week your computer could be working perfectly normal.
I am not a professional at computers, I have a great IT guy and he helps me but he is the one who has taught me to wait after updates because of fixes coming out days later.
I sent you an email also on somethings I have gone through which has improved my internet after having a tech here at least once a month for the last year lol Only way I can get a man into my apartment hahaha.
I was also informed by someone who used to work for my provider to once a month unplug my modem and router to stop static build up, which is worst in winter. I don't know about all of these things but it is all preventive things I do and they seem to be working well for me.
Keep up the great work you do!! You are making a difference!
