I will shamelessly admit that I’ve listened to this episode literally hundreds of times. I listen to it to go to sleep. The Conan-Goldblum combo is so delightfully, calmingly hilarious. Never fails to put me in a good mood.
I do that also! After I listened to them the first time, the Kevin Nealon one and this one are some go tos to unwind, lay down, and guide me to a good mood and sleep.
Jeff is always such a treat! I'm glad Matt got to circle back around to his story of seeing him in downtown LA and get a reaction, since Conan completely took over and stepped on his first attempt (but I get it, I'm ADHD as well Conan, you didn't mean it)
Yeah, I noticed that too, mostly because it always happens to me.... certain family members always cut me off whenever I have a interesting story that just might give me the spotlight for a single moment. 🤨 ... but in this case, Conan doesn't do it often enough to be a big issue.
I think he probably makes David Hopping rewatch the shows where these celebs showed up and he takes notes of what transpired on the show and shares them with Conan
One of my favorite Conan strange tv bits was getting Philip Glass to play turkey in the straw in a pen with straw on the floor and a live turkey. I cant find it online but I have such a vivid memory of watching it
The James Coburn film they talked about has a hell of an oddball cast to it: *John HIllerman* (Higgins from MAGNUM, PI), Pat Hingle (Commissioner Gordon from four BATMAN films), *Robert Mandan* from SOAP and THREE'S A CROWD, *Dan O'Herlihy* (The Old Man from ROBOCOP 1&2 and Grig from THE LAST STARFIGHTER). Only two major players still survive: *Jennifer O'Neill* and, of course, the man who just might outlive us all, *James Hong,* who has always been everywhere all at once.
I remember discovering !0 speed and Brown Shoe when I was a kid and was an instant fan. Loved the chemistry, the writing was great, how they solved the crimes and it was funny. That's also when I discovered Jeff Goldblum also. I think they cancelled the show and I was disappointed. But I instantly remembered Goldblum in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Still one of my favs. Thanks
Leave it to Jeff Goldblum to say the theme song to his big break on TV was so good, and then sing a completely unrelated sitcom theme song - The Greatest American Hero / George's Answering Machine Message
I was in the pilot of Tenspeed and Brown Shoe. I played a Nazi Thug that takes him on the bus. Eventually Ben Vereen knocks me out. I also was in Silverado with Jeff, I played Rosanna Arquettes husband (Conrad). I ran into Jeff at Cine Vegas at The Palms, we chatted, it was cool.
No disrespect to Kev Hart. He certainly worked hard + earned his spot while also helping others. But objectively there's just no way that he's done more for comedy, to justify getting the Mark Twain Prize before Conan The Defiler. 🤔 Anyhow, with the ongoing LA wildfire tragedies, it's nice for us to be cheerful + celebrate this positive news together. Obv. Andy Richter + Hard G will be in the gallery, not sure about Gourley, but personally I also want to see Dr. Arroyo + "Jason" Schlansky there in Mar. 🙂 Ideally both Triumph the ICD + Martin Short would show up to roast Tilda Swinton's long lost cousin @ the Kennedy Center. 😅
Quick, everyone name 3 mark twain books! Exactly. They literally should rename it “The Conan O’Brien Award For Mastery Of The Comedic Arts”. And Conan should drink hot sauce out of the pompadour when he accepts the first one.
Dear Conan. You may want to attend to creating more podcast content right now instead of grieving for your noble parents, recovering from devastating fires, preparing for the Oscars, and catching up with Paul Rudd. -No One
I had never heard of it, but after looking Tenspeed and Brown Shoe up on imdb it sounds a lot like the excellent Bored to Death with the wannabe private detective. I wonder if it's available anywhere?
i just typed a comment about this myself. i like conan but he does love the sound of his own voice sometimes and these videos with jeff well conan has been at his worst for talking. jeff only said about a couple of dozen words in this video 😞
Matt and Conan are lucky they were exposed to Goldblum early in their lives. I wasted the first 30 years of my life not knowing what a Jef Goldblum was
I think Conan should interview @Geowizard. Conan would have an absolute ball learning about his straight line missions and "how not to travel" video series where he rode childrens' scooters down the mountains in Switzerland and Italy, and tried to boat into New York City on a little dinghy from Long Island.
There's probably other reasons but video editing is a lot of work. This way they don't have to do a multi-hour edit that takes tons of work to complete
I never really understood the whole 'unrecognized Hollywood celebrity' embarrassment thing, as in this story or that scene in _Notting Hill._ They just aren't that important.
Conan, I love you but you'll have a much bigger audience if you have varied, younger, non-celebrity guests, or guests with a different political persuasion.
ive noticed conan talks too much on these jeff goldblum interviews. i like conan but i beleive he likes to be the one talking all the time with jeff. i swear that jeff only spoke for about 10 seconds in this video 😞
Congratulations on the Mark Twain Prize, Conan. It is long overdue and no one in American humor deserves it more.
Omg yay I missed that news - sooooo long overdue!!
When I saw the news this morning I was so happy for him and the whole team who have been so integral to his comedy
After all the bad news, this is great to hear. He definitely deserves this :)
OOMG
over due
I’m always amazed when I hear Jeff Goldbloom speak. He asked about the guy’s father and what he did for a living showed a genuine interest.
I will shamelessly admit that I’ve listened to this episode literally hundreds of times. I listen to it to go to sleep. The Conan-Goldblum combo is so delightfully, calmingly hilarious. Never fails to put me in a good mood.
i just love Jeff's "yes.... yes..." so much lolol
Why?
SOOoo funny he literally puts you to sleep ?
I do that also! After I listened to them the first time, the Kevin Nealon one and this one are some go tos to unwind, lay down, and guide me to a good mood and sleep.
@@zurb4125 haha, the Kevin Nealon (1 & 2) are on my regular sleep podcast rotation, too!
Take all the time you need to deal with irl stuff. We love you guys. We'll be here when you come back.
agreed! ♥
Sincerely hoping all is ok with Conan and the podcast team. ❤
They don't need your permission
@@acesul8811 Wow! I bet you're fun at parties!
@@acesul8811 You don't have to be that way. That's not a good way to be.

(First hand experience, obv)
"Amazing." Love how it cuts lol
I was SHOCKED when he brought up the salt lick. He always says he barely remembers many of their random skits so I was sure he had forgotten my fav.
I think he probably makes David Hopping rewatch the shows where these celebs showed up and he takes notes of what transpired on the show and shares them with Conan
@@MrDhruvSrivastava Maybe!
Oh I thought it was OFF camera!
Even not being a skit it would be SUCH a Goldblum thing to do!
Sona's so goddamned funny 😂 -- sending so much love to her and her family right now 💖
I had to google the salt lick bit cuz I had never seen it. Hilarious. When he started licking Conan's forehead I died. LOL.
Can’t believe Goldblum is 72! Looks 10 years younger and still sharp as a tack.
The “evil German scientist” part had me crying! 😂😂
10 Speed and Brown Shoe - random association - Ben Vereen played the Wizard on Broadway and Jeff now in the motion picture version.
Congrats on the Mark Twain prize CoCo!!!
The CoCo prize; Twain should be so lucky
Wow, just watch some of Tenspeed and Brown shoe. Jeff's voice sounds so young. Like a newborn carebear.
My two spirit animals in one room!! Goldblum and Sona.
Congratulations Conan on The Mark Twain!! Should have gotten it years ago! Very well deserved 👏 🎉
One of my favorite Conan strange tv bits was getting Philip Glass to play turkey in the straw in a pen with straw on the floor and a live turkey. I cant find it online but I have such a vivid memory of watching it
If there's one American actor that could have played the Doctor (Doctor Who) it's Jeff Goldblum. He would be brilliant (with good writing).
If only Conan’s parents had lived to see him win the Mark Twain prize and host the Oscars! 🥺
Looks like the movie Conan saw being filmed in Boston was "The Carey Treatment," a thriller released in 1972.
They mention it at 7:48
That's so cool that's you found that
I just drove from Michigan to Arizona over 4 days and binge listened to your podcast the whole way! You guys are the best!
It's great to have acting legends listen quietly to Conan's anecdotes.
1:12 And I first met Jeff Goldblum in the Fly! 😂❤🇸🇪
Jeff i ❤ u !!!! 🐵...
Jeff and Conan road trip Movie..!!!
Yess
Ohhhh I luv that idea! They eat pizza, watch movies and travel America.
That would be so good.
I love Jeff Goldblum 💜😍💜😍💜
It’s not in this clip but towards the end of this interview Conan’s evil German scientist rif is just GOLD.
“Amazing” cut. Matt is Absolute genius!
Love you all, never heard Conan use the f word 😂 until now
Oh wow yeah he lets everything loose regularly in the podcast lol
Yeah he kicks loose in the podcast regularly.
In the blink of an eye --- this chaos -- I"m trying to breathe.
Congrats Conan and all of Team Coco. I'm glad there was some good news for yall during this shite wildfire catastrophe

I had to search so many things on Google after this episode 😂. I'm going to watch Ten Speed and Gumshoe on UA-cam after this.
brown shoe
Upload the full episode! I love Jeff Goldblum
Great interview of Conan on Conan...
It feels like Jeff Goldblum is the host and Conan is the guest.
Leave it to Jeff Goldblum to say the theme song to his big break on TV was so good, and then sing a completely unrelated sitcom theme song - The Greatest American Hero / George's Answering Machine Message
It wasn't unrelated because Stephen J. Cannell had created both of those TV shows, as mentioned in this clip.
Congrats Conan with the Mark Tawin

Wait, you played Rosanna Arquette’s husband? Imo you buried the lead but cheers to you!
"If I was out here in this dangerous country with a pretty lady like that, I'd stay close to her."
@@Kurtiscott Well it began with Tenspeed. I could've gone back to when I played Rosanna's date in The Ordeal of Patty Hearst. Thanks for the reply.

I have never seen Jeff given so little time to talk. :D :D
O'Brien knows better than to let Goldblum loose.
Congrats, well deserved, Mark Twain Prize.
* Conan O’Brien Prize

I need to see a modern rendition of the movie Birdcage starring Conan and Jeff Goldblum

Can we add his fancy dinners with Timothy Olyphant?
5:24 The Carey Treatment
Jeff is so super interesting.
Obscure fact , Jeff played a character called Verminous Skumm in the Captain Planet cartoon from the 90s
Love Conan but he sure Bogarted that interview LOL
I thought so too! I didn't like the way he just cut in on Matt's anecdote. Shut up, Conan.
Yea. He was a guest that couldn't get a word in. The show is not usually like that.
Hey conan can u give us insight on the At The Drive In performance on your show
Jeff is a good sport
The James Coburn movie is "The Carey Treatment (1972)", if anyone cares.

Origin of the Gong Show!
i love Conan but he allowed Jeff to speak for like 20 sec in this 10 minutes clip :)
"Amazing" 😅
All episodes of Tenspeed and Brown Shoe are streaming on UA-cam for free. 😏
Love Conan, but it seems he is oblivious to the fact that the guest should do most of the talking :) But that is Conan, and we love him.

My favorite movie from Jeff was Mr. Frost
It's too bad Jeff gets barely any time to talk. It's almost like Jeff is hosting a podcast and Conan is his guest

Hope you're safe and sound. Hope Will's movie tanks, he hates me. Back atcha, Ron.
Conan should look at the guests more often when he is talking. It seems like Gourley is the guest and not Goldblum.
I hope you guys are safe………..
ok petition to have Julie Andrews on the podcast...!!
They need to give Sona & Matt a shock buzzer to shut Conan up.
I sure hope Sona's home didn't burn :(
I’ve got some bad news for you.
For the love of god, put the ENTIRE Jeff episode online already!! I want to enjoy the whole episode. Stop the 10 minute tease videos! Jesus! 🤦
There's probably other reasons but video editing is a lot of work. This way they don't have to do a multi-hour edit that takes tons of work to complete
