- A Caltrans contract worker doing cleanup near the 71 Freeway in Chino Hills was killed after being struck by a truck that lost control and veered off the side of the freeway.

I worked today with this company, they let us out early but gave us credit for the whole day, actually 4+ people got injured one supervisor and three & 1/2 workers, one worker died and the other three including supervisor is in critical condition as we speak, the 1/2 because some got minor scraps/cuts/bruises and dramatizing experience but the news reporter dosent count them , they tell us all the time we have to watch out and be carefull out there and we have organized routine precautions set up to help aleviate the danger but its still very dangerous...god bless you guys

Terrible i still think cleaning up on side of rhe freeway without police presence is dangerous

I always see delivery truck drivers on there phone no surprise this would happen
If the CHP doesn’t go up and down and patrolling the freeways, at least they should sit at these Cal Trans work sites to visibly deter bad drivers.

If people stop speeding, this would never happen if you see workers slow down, but they don't care anymore. Rest in peace for the person that passed away so sad.

That family of the killed worker will get a sharp attorney and sue the company who's truck it was for a few million. You never go after the driver as he may be an illegal with no dough..
You have a point there. Sadly no matter how much money they may get, nothing will make it easier for them nor bring their loved one back. This could very well have been an accident but I definitely have my doubts.

Those trucks are so dangerous. I’ve had so many close calls with them. I don’t know if it’s their blindspots or the drivers themselves that are reckless. But they certainly are dangerous,

There also on the phones when you see them slowing down and looking down, that means they on the phone stop before you trigger
I wonder if he was on his phone or speeding and lost control. My condolences to the worker’s family 🙏
