You might note that in Alta, while in the MS Aurora we were berthed is the bay as was MS Viking Sky. On the way back we had a force 11 gale which we slept throw, the Viking Sky lost engines and got into trouble for a while.
It is fair to mention that the "Sami style singing" is called Yoik and is nowhere near related to Yodeling except in the sound of the name! Different techniques and different cultural backgrounds ;)
Yes, being technical. However, those who are unenlightened in this specific area who are listening to it might not be aware of the difference. I get annoyed with many things people get wrong. Just had an argument about someone thinking salad was slimming after they had smothered it in dressing and mixed the tuna with salad cream.
Hi Doris - really charming video of our town! We love it when Aurora comes to call, too :) Just a quick note for those who come and see the video, if you travel to Alta you'll now find the tourist office just across the street from the shuttle bus dropoff point, right next to the Thon Hotel. It's a much bigger place, now - perfect to welcome our cruise guests without making them stand shoulder to shoulder! Best of luck and bon voyage from all of us at North Adventure!
