We caught the bus on the Sunday and took a trip to the museum. The bus continues all round the island. We'd have liked to have done that but had to rush back for our trip to the ice Hotel!
Hi Lindsey & Ken, Just caught up with your Northern Lights cruise ,beautiful scenery ,you did well and braved the cold ,ice carvings looked wonderful .
It was fine they hung blankets over the exits to try and keep the cold out. However I am loathed to talk about temperatures on board ship as one person's cold is another person's hot. It was certainly warmer on board than when we were on QM2 in Amsterdam
Really pleased to have found your videos of this cruise as my husband and I are booked on this cruise for Christmas. It is going to be our first Christmas cruise. My husband wanted snow on Christmas Day! Any advice or thoughts on Aurora at Christmas would be welcomed
Thanks for watching Ann the best advice I can give if you are doing northern lights is to buy the correct clothing if you don't already have it. Be prepared for things to change quickly regarding the lights. Definitely take a Husky ride and or a reindeer ride. If you're intending to photograph the lights you need a tripod and and camera or phone you can set in manual mode to enable you to choose the right settings. There are two more vlogs one that came out yesterday and one next week. Can I ask which ship you are sailing on?
I think when we do it again we will book another tour when in Alta we just got it wrong. But being up all night the night before we weren't sure what we were going to feel like
@@KenGoesCruising Yes I know exactly what we shall do when we revisit next year. Once you get a feel of the place and hear of other people's experiences...
@@joycesmith8354 Hi Joyce you actually dock right in the town of Alta itself. We are going again next March and doing the Husky ride again. This time in Alta as last time we did it in Tromso
thanks for another great vid. I’d like to do a Northern Lights Cruise, but am always put off by the prospect of slipping over when walking. Any thoughts?
Hi Sheila we bought some snow 3 Boots and because the snow was dry it wasn't really slippery. The most slippery part was the decks at times despite all the hard work of the crew to keep them clear
Sheila I bought some snow boots from Mountain Warehouse and wore them most of the time. They were warm and comfy. We had bought some crampons but returned them when back as we never used them. But might be different conditions next year... Don't miss out on a wonderful experience because you are worried you might slip. You could slip over on the ice in the UK!

@@KenGoesCruising we are on Aurora just as you were. We have never been on her before, only Britannia.
@@annheaton7343 we love Aurora she is our favourite ship. I will be doing a ship tour of Aurora in the next few weeks that you might find interesting.
What does manual mode mean say on an iPhone?
Apparently the husky race was the world championships. They (huskies) returned from 6 onwards the previous evening
Thanks for the update Lesley

We are going march 7th on Aurora. Thank you
What month was your cruise? As we go end Oct and hoping for snow as we are booked to do the husky sledge ride too.
We sailed in March. There is sometimes a problem with the Autumn.trips as they often lack snow at that time of year

A church is closed on a SUNDAY??
The Church was open for services but it was closed for visitors and it also hosts a Northern lights museum which was closed
