Once I got it figured out, the side-chaining thing is TERRIFIC! I've just used Equator on one mix so far, but I decided, as a test, to use it on each instrument, vox, and all the busses. This ir really nice.
Can only say FANTASTIC GREAT OUTSTANDING PLUGIN! 😀👍 Great job Waves-team that come up with this unique plugin. Keep up the good job! No brainer, instant purchased and thank you! 🙏
Rosa and maybe the Salmons will not be so grateful as the other bands in the video. It's an excellent plugin that does the heavy lifting in no time with the minimum of fuss.Thumbs up Waves!
looks and sounds great. I have Soothe and other similar tools and wasn't thinking I should buy it. I must say I really like this GUI and the way it is set up. For the intro price I will add to cart
What's funny to me is the bleed of the male vocal into the lead female tracks, and you have access to Clarity VX or pro, that can easily remove secondary voices in a track.
Id probably get it if it had an invert button that targeted the opposite, everything in between the resonant frequencies, you could call it volcano mode 🌋
on vocals should i use the waves curve equator first in vocal chain to clean up before mixing my vocal or after my vocal chain to clean up the already mixed sound?
@ That‘s great. Could you tell me if this is a sure thing or if you are working on if it is possible at all? If it‘s sure it can be done live, I‘d buy it in a few days. Otherwise I‘d wait…
They've already implemented similar FFT processing in the Silk Vocal plugin, which works really great, so I think that this one is going to work as well.
Hi, can you help me understand? When you’re removing almost 10 db of musical stuff, what's really happening is it being compressed or eq'd? Should I treat this as an eq or a compressor? isn't 10 to 15 db too much lol?
I want to know if in order to make space in the instrumental, for the vocals, can I use this to take out mono frecuencies that mask the voice but not affecting the stereo information?
With Dynamic EQ, you need to know where the resonances are, then you need to add multiple nodes and possibly automate them. Equator has a thousand bands (nodes) that adaptively attenuate resonances, all you have to do is set the threshold.
To all WUP haters - I pay WUP once in like 4 years only to get the vast majority of the plugins released in the meantime added to my Mercury bundle for free. Not a bad deal at all, I'm a fan. I'm even willing to forget the sub only fiasco. Regarding the plugin - I own Soothe 2, Neutron, Reso and while this is in a similar vein (frequency balancer with a lot of customisation), it is also distinct and unique enough in how it operates. If anything, I think this is actually a bit closer but not identical to what Gullfoss does. Bottom line - I'm not selling neither Soothe, neither Gullfoss🙂
Not sold. Please give us Abbey Road Studer A80 and A800. I saw them at Abbey Road at exhibition show, they are still there. Floyd and Queen recorded to that A80 tape, and God knows how many greats used Abbey Road A800 in the 80's. Also, try to sample Abbey Road keyboards. Old Reason product is outdated at this point and suffers from a small number of layers and round-robins.
I feel like waves just copied the concept of spectral compressor from robbert-vhd in a simpler, less controllable way, slapped a learn function and called it a day. Looks nice 😁
The plugin is cool. Maybe I would buy it. But your idiotic update plan... I don't want to pay multiple times for the same plugin. BUT UNFORTUNATELY YOUR COMPANY IS TOO GREEDY. Too bad...because you have some really great ones.
I cant see what all the hype is about this plugin..I put it on a piano track with resonances and it didnt make a difference..Eqing and cutting the resonances is far better imo
Great video, respect,. The Curves Equator and IDX are so easy to use and get results so fast, it's scary. I use them on all my mixes. Thank you Waves!
Wow, I tried the Curves Equator on a whole mix and it sounds great. Can't wait to try it on individual instruments and vocals.
Thanks Waves, another BANGER!
Once I got it figured out, the side-chaining thing is TERRIFIC! I've just used Equator on one mix so far, but I decided, as a test, to use it on each instrument, vox, and all the busses. This ir really nice.
Great to hear!
Wow, you guys are on a streak! Amazing products coming out these past years!
Can only say FANTASTIC GREAT OUTSTANDING PLUGIN! 😀👍
Great job Waves-team that come up with this unique plugin.
Keep up the good job! No brainer, instant purchased and thank you! 🙏
Wow, the before and after results are truly impressive! It feels like each instrument comes through with much more detail and clarity.
This is Waves’ greatest plugin. I can’t wait to write a review for this on my channel!
Sonible, Izotope, Soothe 2,
I have them all. This one from waves sounds different, in a good way! Very impressed.
Not exactly, soothe doesn`t add, it only reduces. More like Sonible Smart EQ...
Rosa and maybe the Salmons will not be so grateful as the other bands in the video. It's an excellent plugin that does the heavy lifting in no time with the minimum of fuss.Thumbs up Waves!
Wow!
Waves, once again, helping us out to achieve the results we want and need!
Can’t wait to see it
It's an amazing plugin! I use it in all my mixes now. You've really nailed it! Congrats!
Just got myself a copy!
Im so excited with this😮💨😮💨
This is a convincing demonstration of the plug-in. Thank you, Mario.
I am thoroughly impressed by this plugin AND how well it was demonstrated. Excited to try this one out for myself 🥂
the best plugin company at it again
Fantastic job Waves! Great plug-in!
Glad you liked it! 😊
This plugin is unreal. Crystal clear and warm at the same time!
looks and sounds great. I have Soothe and other similar tools and wasn't thinking I should buy it. I must say I really like this GUI and the way it is set up. For the intro price I will add to cart
WOW! Just amazing!
Looking forward incorporating this into my toolset :)
You guys are amazing! Can’t wait to use it 👑👑👑
perfect company
YESSSSSS! Exactly what I was looking for!
THANKS WAVES!!! LOVE U, GREETZ FROM AMSTERDAM
This actually quite amazing... and in a different way to Soothe
Yeah, it's like they added an easier /clearer multiband controls/interface to what Soothe does
The mix is very Soothe 😏
Similar to Baby Audio's Smooth Operator, with much more control. Very cool!
Can't wait for Soundgrid/LV1!
Looks like a fun tool. Kinda like gullfoss and soothe but has its own thing going as well.
What's funny to me is the bleed of the male vocal into the lead female tracks, and you have access to Clarity VX or pro, that can easily remove secondary voices in a track.
awesome. thank *YOU* i will pick it up while it's on sale. nice simian line (straight line across the palm) on your right hand. 🙏
Thanks mate, I have it on my left hand as well :)
can't wait to try it !
This is MAGIC, hope its cpu efficient.
It is. I put a couple of instances on dif channels and very light on the cpu.
Should I add this to the master or individual tracks?
Both can work depends on your tracks needs
I'll watch more tutorials and I'll buy it! Thank you!
Every body coping this!! Fire Waves !!
i already got it !!😎
Wow , sounds great. Amazing waves product
Looks Good!❤ Thanks waves!
wow wow wow, so so so good ... oh they pull me back again !!!
Id probably get it if it had an invert button that targeted the opposite, everything in between the resonant frequencies, you could call it volcano mode 🌋
Guys you made it! And the prize? Unbeatable! Bye Bye Soothe!
Killer plug. Period!
another great WAVES 🤘💯❗
Whaaat?! How is that even possible? 👏👏👏
Wow, gotta try that!
Ok nice
Its like soothe 2?
Or different?
Thank you i will purchase it soon 🔥
V14 supported?
Hi there, V15 & future versions only.
It's more like SmartEQ4 than Soothe ! Looks good!
A combination of both
Amazing 😮
tHE RAW MIX SOUNDED ALREADY NATURAL AND GOOD
A bit muddy
How is the latency? Possible to use it in live session?
Waves have added a "LIVE" version of all their latest plugin releases, so they probably did with these ones too.
@@sonidojamon nice one. I'll demo it then. Hope the live option is avaliable.
We are working on a very low-latency version of the plug-in :)
@@waves nice . It actualy works without any hickups for me. Have not noticed enough latency to bother me.
on vocals should i use the waves curve equator first in vocal chain to clean up before mixing my vocal or after my vocal chain to clean up the already mixed sound?
Depends on your specific audio and the result you're trying to achieve. Both are valid use cases.
@@waves thanks Waves I appreciate 🫶🏼
Can I use it on live sound mixing?
We are working on a super low latency version :)
I cant figure out how to get sidechaining working in Ableton. How do I route it to the Kicks channel for example?
Hi there, our tech support department is open 7 days a week and will be more than glad to assist. Please contact us directly: www.waves.com/contact-us
Will there be a live version of Equator? If so, when can we expect it? I think it could help a lot in live sound.
We are working on it!
@ That‘s great. Could you tell me if this is a sure thing or if you are working on if it is possible at all? If it‘s sure it can be done live, I‘d buy it in a few days. Otherwise I‘d wait…
Great stuff. Will there be a version for live with no/less latency?
They've already implemented similar FFT processing in the Silk Vocal plugin, which works really great, so I think that this one is going to work as well.
We are working on a very low-latency version of the plug-in :)
Cmon Waves, WUP pricing needs to be severely reduced
love it you can take my money
Will it run on Proton Duo?
Does it go on the Mix Bus? Or the master?
Any channel works.
For some reason, i can't get it to work with sidechaining or sidechain learning in FL Studio
❤
But can it do mid/side?
Yes, M/S, L/R and Linked options are available.
Will have to demo to see cpu usage
I make experiential electric music 'without' any vocals would Equator work for me or would it not be needed?
It can work for all types of music.
Is it available for subscribers??
Included with Waves Ultimate!
Absolutely - use the M/S mode of the plug-in under the advanced controls, bottom right side of the plug-in (under "balance").
So what is the difference between this and a regular dynamic eq?
With Dynamic EQ, you need to know where the resonances are, then you need to add multiple nodes and possibly automate them. Equator has a thousand bands (nodes) that adaptively attenuate resonances, all you have to do is set the threshold.
Can anybody answer? If I already have Curves equator, do I still need FabFilter Pro EQ?
Yes they are different tools
Plugin is both a blessing and a curse haha it EQs so well that I feel like I'm cheating

So, basically Sonible Smart EQ, but from Waves? No disrespect.
More like soothe2
Soothe killer
Soothe sales booster 😂😅
No Waves anymore for me.
The “on” signal is always louder…
Thats not a way to convince …
You also need well-trained years, however, as we see here.
I look forward to buying it then having to pay for it again to keep using it.
I feel like waves just copied the concept of spectral compressor from robbert-vhd in a simpler, less controllable way, slapped a learn function and called it a day. Looks nice 😁
6:00 I know this example is a bit exaggerated, so that everyone can hear the difference. But this mix sounds absolutely lifeless
The plugin is cool. Maybe I would buy it. But your idiotic update plan... I don't want to pay multiple times for the same plugin. BUT UNFORTUNATELY YOUR COMPANY IS TOO GREEDY. Too bad...because you have some really great ones.
I already bought mine for 39 dollars!
Shoothe 2 = 200 dollars. Just being stupid to pay 200 dollars!
Artifact
I cant see what all the hype is about this plugin..I put it on a piano track with resonances and it didnt make a difference..Eqing and cutting the resonances is far better imo
This demo video is a joke as most of the time when the plugin is on, the sound is worse 🤣🤣🤣
FALSE
Silly. The mix with the plugin off is intentionally bad. Put it on something with a decent mix so that we can get an honest comparison.
I just think that this is for lazy producers or amateurs 🤦🏾♂️
I think this is not for the people tgat are stuck in the past.
Or learn to mix properly
Why? Use tools that make your work faster
