@ThumperOne It doesn't matter what the name of the group is, that doesn't make him less of a bass player, Eddie also said that Michael Anthony didn't know how to play, that he had to tell him what to play, which is a big fucking lie, if he sucked, he wouldn't be playing in Chickenfoot with Satriani. The only reason he got kicked out of Van Halen is because Eddie is an ASSHOLE. He just wanted his son to play with him, which by the way, sucks, and can't even hear shit he "plays"
@ThumperOne Listen to Rick Beato's breakdown of 2 VH songs and you might get why MA is successful. He can play when he needs to and he understands what a song needs to make it work. Also, Mikey did start his own band before he joined VH. They weren't successful but neither were Eddie and Alex until Roth and Mikey joined. BTW, I can hear Mikey's bass on the first 5 albums clearly, 1984 -not as much and FUCK has a great bass sound. Would he be a nobody without finding ? that's pure speculation. It might be posted somewhere in the comments sections but the fact that he has a bunch of guests rooms - it looks like it but it might be one big guest house- shows that he loves people and having friends over. He was an integral part of the four-headed monster and I'm certain he had more of an influence on their sound and success than giving credit for.

You guys who are down on Mike must realize that Eddie couldn't do it by himself, he needed HELP! That means the right complimentary artists to bring the music to life. Beautiful home, but best thing of all, Michael is still married to the girl he met in high school and who loved him before the fame and money.
On a personal note, I seen him and VH in 82 and 84. He, and they, were great.
You are truly the final ingredient to create one of the biggest rock bands in the world forever Mike Van Halen would have never been you were the one dude! G. Codgen.... Have to Love it,God bless U, Sue and the Girls🙏💯 MA
I love VH and I really like Diamond Dave, but I love Sammy and Mike. My favorite VH tunes are with the Red Rocker. I love you guys, and I wish you all the best, and all the luck in the world. Long life, health, and happiness. I started playing bass cuz of Michael Anthony and Cliff Burton. I will idolize you guys forever. Thank you.
Same here, Michael Anthony is the one who got me inspired to pick up the bass. Cliff Burton took my bass playing to a whole new level of playing. Kudos to Mickey and RIP Cliff Burton. There music will always be with us.
MIchael Anthony is a class act.
He's a great family man.
Nicest member of the original band, hands down.
+pnutbutrncrackers Only Michael and Sammy were decent of the whole bunch. Great music, but the other guys were spuds.
Mike is my favorite bass player and always will be He got such a good personality
Respect!! for all you did for Van halen and beyond
He's a very down to earth n humble type of dude. I saw him once at a Mercedes dealer in Covina Ca., back in 1997
And he was very cool and gave me his autograph. And talked to me as if he was just a regular person
Always will remember that. Just wish he could get back with Van Halen, then it will really be reunion.
mr. skydog sadly Eddie would never allow that to happen now that he has his son playing MA's spot. I would love to see it too. Like in the song, 'Poundcake', Michael Anthony will always just be your average guy, humble and kind to everyone he comes across. I wish I could meet him too one day, like you have.
Ed's keeping that money in the family.
mr sky: that's why Mikey and Sammy get along so well. Sammy is the same way. Worked at a record store in TX in late 70s when Sammy and Gary Pihl (guitarist) wlaked in looking for some cassettes as they were on tour with Boston. Sammy was friendly as hell and talked to all the guys and girls working there for about 15 minutes.
I’m glad you have this, and hope you have everything your heart desires!! You’re a good guy, and have a phenomenal talent..
Michael Anthony is one of my favorite rock stars, seems like a real regular guy with no attitude
Beautiful home! Beautiful wife! I love the pets! I am designing my backyard now. It’s a much smaller scale but this is definitely my kind of style. It looks like a really fun place to be. Thank you for sharing! Leslye
You guys who are down on Mike must realize that Eddie couldn't do it by himself, he needed HELP! That means the right complimentary artists to bring the music to life. Dave had the charisma, brother Al had the catchy rhythms and Michael played a thunderous bass and was the best backup singer in the business. He was VITAL to the VH sound. He played like a maniac in the live shows and earned his keep. Wolf pales by comparison.
I instantly ( Liked ) this video because it was Michael Anthony..
Old V.H. was a big part of high school, thank you to all of Van Halen
Badass bass player in the greatest rock band in the world. He worked for everything. Well deserved and managed as well.
