I'm 2 years younger than you Marianne! Also grew up in the 80s, and I have a 30 year old son. My Uncle was a producer at A&M RECORDS HOLLYWOOD from 1969-1999. From the age of 7 years old, I spent my summers going to the studio with my Uncle. So, I saw music HISTORY being made from 1972 until my Uncle retired. I was actually at A&M at 1am-6am in the 2 nights it took to record " We Are The World", USA 4 AFRICA .I've got my white sweatshirt signed and the AWARD every singer signed to my Uncle. Thank you for being honest and sharing your experience with Ed Van Halen. Wolfgang Van Halen inherited his Dad's Coldwater Canyon home and he lives there with his FIANCE' Andraia Allsop.
If you don't mind me asking what is your uncle's name? My dad did National promo for A&M records in the 80s so I guarantee he knows him. If you want I can divulge first and give you my dad's industry name - so ask him if he knows VanO 😁. There weren't many people in the industry who didn't know who he was - I say that past tense because he has since retired as of about 2 years ago after spending 43 years in the industry. But A&M was my dad's first label gig. From there he went to Chrysalis records out in California for a few years and worked for them as one of their National directors of Rock promo. In the early 90s he decided to go independent and started Midwest music and he got to work with every label that hired him. He worked Nirvana's never mind album when it was released and was literally the driving force for getting 3 doors down airplay and put into rotation at radio stations when they released kryptonite. As the years went on he got more into the metal scene and again was one of maybe three people who broke Bring Me The Horizon into mainstream radio. Up until you retired he worked slipknots albums and singles and is actually close friends with Corey Taylor. Funny story: a few years ago at the big day out festival up in Connecticut or New York, I texted him and asked him what he was doing and he sends me a picture of him standing at the festival with him and his BFF Corey Taylor LOL. I wish I could find a video on here still but I had it as a couple years ago in an email from my dad where Chris motionless was thanking my dad for picking up their band and working their first album. Much like you, although your experiences with the artists are much cooler, I spent my Summers traveling with my dad and meeting all these hair bands in the 80s. In fact even up until the year he retired, my dad still had to do the summer festivals tour and a big one is Rock on the range, although I don't think it's called that anymore, I believe it's Sonic Temple nowadays, but it literally takes place 50 minutes up the road for me. Huge 3-day festival where just about every major metal band would Grace at least one of the stages. So up until that point I always had six free tickets for the 3-day event for myself and my fiance as well as all access laminates to watch the shows from the side of the stage. That being said - your memories with your uncle are cool as hell. I mean just being in the studio while the "We Are the World" tracks are being recorded by all these artists is unbelievable. I mean you're literally sitting there watching history in the making - like front row. Anyways let me know if your uncle knows him or not. I don't know if your uncle had an industry nickname or not and if you're not cool with the bulging it that's fine but man you're the first person I've seen in the UA-cam comment section where I thought "oh my God I wonder if they know my dad".
glad to hear someone else admit it Adam. I cried when I heard about Eddie. I was tore up at least a week. Even now if I watch a few VH videos I water up a bit. I even named my dog Eddie in his honor. My dog actually has a favorite song. It's Jump.
That is awesome. What does your pup do when Jump comes up on the stereo or in the car? Please tell us he hangs his head out the window howling at kids in passing cars, then barks every time the chorus goes "Might as well (woof)!" Or at least you're teaching him to do that with guitar shaped treats. Who's a good boy... Way too cool.
I find it fascinating we place such a high value on a person's ability to master a six-stringed instrument. In this case, I think it's the mirage that got developed around the band, likely in large part due to DLRs salesmanship. I think we all love VH, but so much is based on the "product" delivered via the media and show theatrics. At the center of all that, was a relatively down to earth guy, who was a great musician. 😊
I was in a very sad mood when I heard EVH had died. I knew he had health problems for many years but had no idea he was as sick as he was. I fully understand why it wasn't discussed openly. We did hear rumors of the tour that might happen and always had hope they were going to come true.
I met EVH at the grocery store. He knew I was starstruck and came over to me to say hello. Also, I worked at a studio in VanNuys and met a guy that told me EVH paid for his girlfriend’s cancer treatment. He even paid for transportation. He was a good guy.
OMG! Marianne! What a wonderful interview! Thank you SO much for taking care of Edward who we all love and revere! He was blessed to have you to care for him. You are a beautiful soul and thank you for being a nurse. I can tell that you love what you do. We need more healthcare workers like you! I'm so glad you came on Adam's show to tell us your beautiful story. Thank you for being a part of his treatment as I'm sure he was going through a difficult time. ❤🤍🖤🎸👑
I used to live in the poor section of Studio City. It was great knowing EVH lived off Coldwater Canyon. I saw EVH and Valerie driving around one time. He is so missed.
@@jayteesgear Studio City is littered with old apartment buildings. 30 years ago my studio apartment, South of Magnolia, was very affordable. Perfect for people just starting their careers. I was poor back then.
My ex wife was a home health/ hospice nurse. She couldn't talk too much about her patients medically. This lady reminds me of her because she's always so careful about what she says. There were times when my wife got up in the middle of the night and had to go see a patient who would later die. When she got home I knew she was troubled but she never would say much. After a few years of that, she got a job working with a baby doctor. It was a lot less stressful and instead of death, she dealt with life! It was a good switch. I actually talked her into making the switch and I'm glad I did.
I’m amazed that Ed didn’t just give her a tour of 5150, depending on if he was feeling up to it. I’m sure if she asked for a tour of 5150 Ed would have gladly gave her the go-around. At the same time, she seems very professional and wouldn’t ask for anything anyways, regardless of who the patient might be.
Wolfie mentioned it on a video. He hoped that it would get his dad excited and rally him so they could. Possibly do with DLR and Sammy Hagar as well as Gary Cherone. It seemed that the talk didn't progress much more than that as his dad's health didn't improve. So glad I saw them once in 1984 with DLR and several times with Sammy Hagar. They were a powerful band! Always a joy to see! I will always miss him, but I usually go put on some Van Halen and jam and all is well with the world!
Wolfie's Idea that he brought to his Dad Ed Was a Van Halen Tour would have been called The KITCHEN SINK Tour with all 3 Singers and The whole original Idea was Wolf VanHalen's.
Miss Marianne, you are such a Angel 😇 Eddie was Blessed to have you and you are such a Class Act 🎬 !✔❤ What a Wonderful Experience and Story !✔❤ Thanks for Sharing with us and God Bless ✔❤❤❤❤❤
I saw VH a couple of times. The first time was when I was in high school; at the Civic Center in Portland Maine. My friend had bought Grateful Dead tickets. Back then the tickets were all 'general admission' and it was like a giant party. So we are in the place and VH came on stage as the lead in band! We had no idea who they were. I remembering looking at the stage and this crazy man (David Lee Roth) in tights and a superman cape running everywhere, doing backflips and stuff. The music was great. I made my way to the front and stood about ten feet from Eddie. I play guitar and just wanted to see how the hell he was getting those sounds. He looked at me at one point and grinned, probably knew I was trying to figure it out. Sad he passed away.
@@gagealbright The crazy thing, unlike today, it was general admission so a big party (no real checks on what you brought in also, so we brought in the works.) Place was wild.. super good times

Awesome interview! Travel nurses rock! I'm a nurse, and have done mainly med/surg, but the best part of the job is working with the patients. Yet another person that Edward’s beautiful soul has touched. According to Wolfgang, they were thinking about planning a tour which would include Michael Anthony and they were going to call it the kitchen sink tour because everyone was going to be involved from Sammy Hagar to David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony. This nurse was correct in saying that Edward would be better and then the cancer would come back in a different form because Wolfgang basically said the same thing that he would get better and then something else would pop up.
I never met Ed....Saw VH 35 Times and flew out to the last Hollywood Bowl Show.... I kinda knew it was gonna be the last time I saw them! I bought my first car from the wilmington Delaware assembly plant where Valerrie's father was a GM executive. My name is a Dutch name which is where the van halen's are from...Eddie's son was born on 3/16/1991 and I think that is right around the day i had my first girlfriends date.
Providence St. Joe's is right around the corner from me and just down the road from WB who signed VH. She got the assignment because she was cute and Ed kept her on because she was cute.
N they say..looks dont matter.. what a surprise..she wasn't a 300 lb.woman.. Not beign mean..but .oney..n prestiege..hoes a long way in this world..let's be honest. I had a home health aid..had to tell her to leave..ugghhh.. until I got a nice one..just the wsy it is..

Every day I read about tremendous progress that is made through research, and I think the time is getting nearer that we can defeat many types of cancer! The only bad news is that there are over 200 types of cancer! I’m not an optimistic guy but even I am excited about the sudden breakthroughs that have been reported!! 🤠

Marianne TeBeau. Thank you so much help keeping Ed Alive in your part for what you did! God bless you!!!
OMG! That is SO awesome!!!
It's Jump.
I named my son Eddie :)
@@adguitar7 my middle name is Edward and my dad's name was Edward. We welcome your boy to the dark side 😆
@@adguitar7
That's incredible❗❤
My dog Zack thought they were saying his name in this song: Breakfast Club - Right On Track
God bless care takers. That profession / service takes a special kind of person. So often they are overworked. Let us not take them for granted.
So many memories of my youth I remember listening to VH...the power of music. ❤
Thank you Holly :)
What a very lovely story. U treated him with love and respect. The world thanks u 4 being there 4 him. Thank u 4 the precious story !💖💖
This was awesome to listen to...time of life well spent...thank you both for doing this and sharing.
Thank you :)
I'm a fan since day one. I owe Ed a lot of thanks. When friends were getting in trouble with the law. I was at home pretending to be EVH. RIP ED
I used to live in the poor section of Studio City. It was great knowing EVH lived off Coldwater Canyon. I saw EVH and Valerie driving around one time. He is so missed.
Theres a “Poor” section of Studio??? You mean like North of Magnolia?
@@jayteesgear Studio City is littered with old apartment buildings. 30 years ago my studio apartment, South of Magnolia, was very affordable. Perfect for people just starting their careers. I was poor back then.
What an interaction this person had with EVH. Thank you for sharing her experience.
This person has a name- Marianne & is a special travel nurse.
Great interview. It’s nice hearing about the human side of Ed, miss him.
Thank you Marianne TeBeau, to care for EVH in his final years and provide some comfort speaks volumes,,
Excellent interview with this sweet lady Marianne TeBeau. Thanks.
Eddie was loved and admired by sooo many people! Such a legend! ❤🎸🎶🎵❤🥀
Very professional until the end.., very commendable. Eddie is greatly missed. Alex remains a blessing
As a fellow nurse and EVH fan Thank you and keep on kicking and healing ass!!
As private as EVH was I’m surprised he didn’t have a non-disclosure agreement. Good interview. Thank you.
He did. It's called HIPAA
@@releshred1272 Except for vax status. What a joke.
Wolfie's Idea that he brought to his Dad Ed
Was a Van Halen Tour would have been called
The KITCHEN SINK Tour with all 3 Singers and
The whole original Idea was Wolf VanHalen's.
Give it up for Travel Nurses!
Edward had special care 🙂
Miss Marianne, you are such a Angel 😇
Eddie was Blessed to have you and you are such a Class Act 🎬 !✔❤ What a Wonderful Experience and Story !✔❤
Thanks for Sharing with us and God Bless ✔❤❤❤❤❤
Ed means so much to the Planet! Music! he really needs a Presidential medal for his work.
Great interview, thank you! Miss EVH very much!!
Wow that is wild. Do you know what year that was? I never heard that VH opened up for the Grateful Dead. Those are my two favorite bands of all time!
@@gagealbright Pretty sure It was '79.
@@hubrisnaut thanks man. that really is incredible. you saw my two favorite guitarists of all time in one show. so cool!
@@gagealbright The crazy thing, unlike today, it was general admission so a big party (no real checks on what you brought in also, so we brought in the works.) Place was wild.. super good times
@@hubrisnaut thats awesome man. two very different bands but both considered to be big time party bands. if you also got to stand 10 feet away from jerry garcia in addition to evh then i might die of jealousy!
Boy you was lucky wow I always liked Eddie awesome guitar players
Really enjoyed this interview 💗 it’s pretty special to know Wolf is recording there now, and follow his music career. It was great seeing him play in the Taylor Hawkins tribute!
Most important, thank you for helping EVH.
Awesome interview! Travel nurses rock! I'm a nurse, and have done mainly med/surg, but the best part of the job is working with the patients. Pretty sure if I'd had this assignment I would have crapped my pants! Losing Eddie just broke my heart to pieces, but I thank God for all the people that loved and took care of him in his final days. Sorry you never got to see VH in concert, but go catch Wolf on tour!
She's quite the compassionate caregiver.
A friend of mine is a nurse in Los Angeles. She worked on George Harrison before he died, but not too long. But she spent a lot of time off and on with Elizabeth Taylor and became pretty good friends.
This was incredible to listen to! Thanks so much for sharing your story Marianne 😊
My husband says he’s very thankful for the music VanHallen played during the 70 and 80s
Edwards been my fave guitar player since i 1st heard the opening riff of ' Ain't talking bout love ' Great interview & thank you Marianne for helping our hero 🎸🎸👑👑
Eddie was in my life alot of years through music and a few concerts ,I was shocked when he passed on Oct 6th my birthday.
Thanks Marianne for telling your story. Very interesting! Glad you got to meet him, he seemed like a good, humble gentleman.
Doctors, nurses & medical staff all do such a great job...
I love hearing stories like this. That was funny when he said to her, I was wondering when you were going to ask, for a picture.
Thank you ,for taking care of my friend
I never met Ed....Saw VH 35 Times and flew out to the last Hollywood Bowl Show....
I kinda knew it was gonna be the last time I saw them!
It's amazing, now that time has passed, how much Ed's death hit me. 2020 was such a cruel time and to have a childhood hero pass! We still have his music and the memories! Love ya Ed.....
Anyone else tear up when she said "unfortunately he would never tour again?"
That must have been so cool to be the lucky nurse. Cool interview
Amazing lady....great interview
😊😅 thank you Marianne and channel for interview ....
This nurse and Eddie Van Halen. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for taking good care of EVH! Michigan Rox!
Marianne you are such a beautiful soul.Thank you for this story
That you!!! For your service....your a unsung hero!!!
crazy - first group i ever discovered was van halen...only been to three concerts in my life and VH was one of them, VH only had one number one song (JUMP) on 2/25/ 1984. My grandmother was born on February 25th. (1894) I was born on february 25th.(1967) (i think that is the year Eddie picked up and started to learn to play guitar.... My mother passed away from cancer (like Eddie) on January 26th (2021) which is Eddie's birthday. My mom first got sick around 10/06/2020. (she passed away from cancer) I was born and raised in New Castle County Delaware 5 miles away from Valerie Bertennelli's childhood home where she lived. I bought my first car from the wilmington Delaware assembly plant where Valerrie's father was a GM executive. My name is a Dutch name which is where the van halen's are from...Eddie's son was born on 3/16/1991 and I think that is right around the day i had my first girlfriends date.
Anyone surprised Eddie was a sweet guy, even when he probably wasn’t feeling so great? Me either. We miss you Eddie.
Eddie was kind soul ❤
Providence St. Joe's is right around the corner from me and just down the road from WB who signed VH. She got the assignment because she was cute and Ed kept her on because she was cute.
N they say..looks dont matter.. what a surprise..she wasn't a 300 lb.woman..
Not beign mean..but .oney..n prestiege..hoes a long way in this world..let's be honest. I had a home health aid..had to tell her to leave..ugghhh.. until I got a nice one..just the wsy it is..
I saw them in concert 3X in the early 80’s
I cried for David Bowie and Prince. Eddie just left me kind of shocked.
Great interview. Very nice woman. You can tell she’s very caring.
Thank you Chris. Yes very caring.
I have cancer: CLL. But there is some good news! Every day I read about tremendous progress that is made through research, and I think the time is getting nearer that we can defeat many types of cancer! The only bad news is that there are over 200 types of cancer! I’m not an optimistic guy but even I am excited about the sudden breakthroughs that have been reported!! 🤠
Thank you Marianne, Adam, and most of all: Ed.
I always wondered what it must have been like in the Vanhalen home. I figured it would be bustling
Thanks for sharing your story!!! I 🙏 🙏 Kodi is doing well without daddy
