Whoop whoop congratulations, here to stay until 1 million then 10 million whoop whoop LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo ^___^ thank you always for sharing and most importanly keep enjoying what you do
You truly know you're beautiful when you model in front of a 100mm lens from INCHES away 😱 great upload, just picked up a 35mm g master after watching your shoots with it 👌🏻
Congrats about the 500k !!! Here's to the next 500k. Glad you shot some natural light portraits at the end. At the beginning of the video, I thought to myself that the natural light looked great.
Thank you very much for this great video! I love your videos! They are the best review videos out there! You always present the camera and the lens with all the details that are important. But the best thing about your videos is: You have the most beautiful models the world has ever seen! I love your videos and look forward to your next upload. 😘
Nice results from both flash and natural light. I was curious to see the ISO was set at 250 and 640 on the studio flash shots. Was this to get super fast recycling from a battery flash? PS. I have just bought this lens.
Thank you and yes! I am working on a video with the Sony 90mm macro, I did a photoshoot with it a couple of weeks ago. Need to edit the photos and video now :)
Glad you put this on your insta story today! I never saw this in my feed on YT… been subbed with bell for years lol the algorithm wants me to watch anything but my subs 😂
I used to use flash in my fashion photography a lot, I just prefer being outdoors for most of my work haha. But I can def make some lighting tutorials in the future!
Hi Julia! I want to be a photographer like you. Can you tell me or make a video about the advantages and disadvantages of Lightroom vs Lightroom Classic. Conveniency and cost etc. thank you!!
Just curious, why shoot with an ISO of 640 and a shutter speed of 1/800? Wouldn't it make for a sharper picture to drop your ISO down to 100 and adjust your shutter speed to something a little slower (but still fast enough for portraits)?
It's a long lens and I am hand holding it, so I wanted to avoid motion blur. The A7IV handles higher iso's really well - so even at ISO 640 the image is clean.
Even though I'm all about that natural light, I preferred the studio light ones a little better as well :) And yes, this is such a simple little setup that works nicely! The only thing cheaper would be to just use natural light and a reflector.
That would only work if your camera is on a tripod and you're not photographing a living subject. If I do that here, by the time I zoom out to shoot it's likely to be out of focus again already. Even if you try to keep perfectly still, people still move slightly.
Sorry to comment so late but I wanted to ask: Why a macro lens? Why not, say, a 135mm prime? What does a macro do for you as a photographer that a prime lens does not? Thanks, Peter.
hi Julia, this is my humble request to all content creators using latest sony mirrorless cameras to disable the EYE PRIORITY in autofocus feature of their cameras at least in video mode. the EYE DETECT feature undoubtedly gives perception of better looking video but because sony's EYE AUTOFOCUS is so powerful and that coupled with modern lenses at wider aperture results in a video that has a very small portion of the screen that is highly in focus. this obviously looks impressive f0r stlls but when it comes t0 vide0, and especially when the subject is m0vng, it bec0mes strainful on eyes of the viewer to watch.
I noticed that too. Sometimes , when we watch back to back episodes of FRIENDS eyes do not feel Strained but whenever a new product is launched and we watch videos shot by these System our Eyes feel Tired and Strained .
That is because those day even the background used to be in Focus . Our fascination for narrowest depth of field coupled with a strong eye autofocus feature , has hit an all time high and now ,we are in Focus too. Because that then Looks normal and we do not get to show . We think we need to find the middle ground where videos look impressive but not strainful for our eyes.

I’ve been trying to find the perfect lens for my shooting goals. So happy I found this! Would this give me similar results with a Sony A5100?
I love your channel. It’s always so educational and lovely. Thanks!

Hi Julia. Love your videos. - Can you make a review of Sony 90mm f2.8 macro G oss?
Thank you and yes! I am working on a video with the Sony 90mm macro, I did a photoshoot with it a couple of weeks ago. Need to edit the photos and video now :)
Great view as always! Question. How do you capture your viewfinder footage?
Love from India ❤️

@@juliatrotti omg, yessss, thank you, so excited!! :) I wish you so much fun in poland/europe, and Dan too of course
Very beautiful colors! 😍 How did you set up the white balance? 🤔 thank you ☺️
Thank you! I use manual white balance, since I shoot in raw I can change it afterwards in post.
would love to see how you edited these. gorgeous
Congratulations 🥳🥳👏
Love from Sri Lanka
I liked the flash photos better. How does this lens compare with the Sony 90mm macro? Maybe you could do a comparison video. Cheers!
Thank you! I just borrowed the Sony 90mm macro, I’ll be shooting with it later this week and will upload a video with it soon 😊
Hi Julia Once Again i'm found of your work, the way you do it , simple and perfect tell me did you used HSS??
@Text me on Telegram👉@juliaTrotti Thank you Julia
Thank you and yes, I used HSS so I can use a faster shutter speed since it's a long lens. I didn't want any motion blur from hand-holding the camera.
Out of curiously how did you record the view finder with out a external tool
happy 500k subscribers
Thank you!
I need to get back in the studio, but I spent so much in them over the winter lol
Love from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Woah!. I never know like you use flash light. May I get more tutorials anout how to handle the flash lighting. Thank you so much for inspiring me🥰

Thank you and yesss I will work on those tutorials 😄
Great video!!!
hi julia, could you do a lens review of sony 90mm 2.8 G macro?!
Yes!! I actually did a photoshoot on it already, just need to edit the video 😄
Yes tutorial pls I would love to see how you came up with it
Epic video

Hey Julia, what’s the exact name of this backdrop color? Is it from Savage?
It’s from Superior and it’s called Silvertone even though I kept calling it silverSTONE by accident 😂
@@juliatrotti thank you! Love the color
Please share a7iv hitting problem
❤❤❤
I love the outfit on the model so much. Please can you say 🙏where can i buy the white top?
I got it ages ago so I can’t remember exactly 😫 I’m pretty sure it was from Princess Polly!
@@juliatrotti thank you! I already found this, but only in pink color.
Anyway thank you for answer❤️
Lightroom tutorial please! 🥰
I liked the studio light a little better. For simple beauty photos on a budget would this be your best recommendation?
Even though I'm all about that natural light, I preferred the studio light ones a little better as well :) And yes, this is such a simple little setup that works nicely! The only thing cheaper would be to just use natural light and a reflector.
What’s your set up for the backdrop?
Very nice 🙂
Just curious, why not zoom in camera preview, manually set focus, then shoot. Instead of waiting for a slow faulty AF to catch
That would only work if your camera is on a tripod and you're not photographing a living subject. If I do that here, by the time I zoom out to shoot it's likely to be out of focus again already. Even if you try to keep perfectly still, people still move slightly.

Macro lenses are great for portraits if you do a lot of beauty photography, photograph makeup, jewellery, etc.
@@juliatrotti Thank you. I have learned so much from your videos. You are a star ⭐.
What flash trigger and strobe are you using.
It's a Godox AD600 Pro and Godox X2 for Sony
@@juliatrotti did you have any issue with the hot shoe being too tight fit? Thanks!

@@juliatrotti oh.. so good to know.. keep doing your good work..we enjoy your videos a lot and thank you & Dan for that...
Yeah it sometimes causes strain on my eyes too . Even eyes of some content creator's often look swollen and tired.

Why do you use the grid
I get goosebumps every time I see a "professional" photographer who doesn't use the viewfinder.
Wait...What you shoot Sony now! Yeah I definitely have been gone for minute.
Hahah I’ve been a Sony shooter for a long time now!
please release a tutorial for these !
Please please please do a Lightroom tutorial🙏🏼
I have a Luminar tutorial I just recorded, I will work on a Lightroom one next with these photos 😄
Sony should do a 100mm GM 1.4 😅
I really really agree!!
