This is a problem for heavy EVs. Most non-EV cars weigh much less. You can ask Google to find approximate weight for various vehicles. For a more meaningful search, you should compare vehicles of similar sizes.

Quite a few of these points overlap with regular gas engine cars especially “performance” cars. They don’t come with spare tires, need more frequent gas station stops to refill, dealer service varies by location but so many don’t maintain parts in stock to fix cars quickly. Agree on Apple CarPlay, shame not to have the option but maybe one day.

Their service center is terrible. If you expect even decent service forget about it. Loaner cars are non existent. I dread needing any service. I had a repair under warranty and my panel by my rear seat wasn’t even aligned when I got it back. I had to remove the rear seat and fix it myself unless I wanted to wait over a week for an appointment and still wait to get it fixed.

Had someone I know receive their brand new Tesla Y with scratches (minor) on the front and back bumper. They made an appointment, and went in. Upon arrival, they said they only received one part, and it's scratched, so they needed to return home with no service done. No call to inform them only when they arrived. Second time they went to get it fixed, they found out only one part arrived, not both. That was replaced, then they scheduled another for the next part. On the 3rd visit the last piece was replaced, and same with some factory updates/fixes. For some reason, another issue arrose (system indicates passenger seat belt isn't functioning, so some features can't be modified on the computer, but can't recall what. That's another service).

Considering trading in my suv for one with low mileage (32k) I want to feel confident within my purchase and curiosity in hopes that this car will last a good 5-10 years with standard or annual "maintenance". I don't commute much, not massive long distance road trips. Just general DD, occasional trips to the mountain/coast :)

Regarding accelerated tire wear, I am in the process of buying a 2023 MyLR. My previous 2 vehicles were a manual Elantra Touring hatchback and a manual mazda miata. The Miata can certainly "get up and go" but I really need to maxing out RPM in each gear and flying through the gears. That's makes probably about .5% of my driving. Otherwise I am accustomed to modest acceleration over the last 13 years so, unless "The Power ™" gets to me, I plan to base 95+% of my driving the same way as before. Same with hard breaking. Not for me, except if it will prevent a collision.
It seems that EVs are a little more insistent that their drivers not be "knuckleheads" , or there will be consequences. Works for me.

I just purchased the 2023 Model Y long range vehicle and it meets all my needs.
    1. and 5. Charging - I will be mainly charging at home and my daily driving only requires single charge. Probably only use supercharging once in a blue moon.
    2. Tires - should last quite a while because I don't do much fast driving-just around town.
    3. Regen braking - I will like this feature, should save wear and tear on brakes, does take some time to get used to. I did a test drive and it is a completely different feeling when slowing down and stopping with just one pedal.
    6. I don't care about modifying a Tesla. I bought it to get away from the gas pumps and do my daily driving needs. I don't need a vehicle to impress someone or go to a car show. Leave that for the filthy rich.
    7. I could care less about those "car play" software's. Tesla software suits me just fine.
    8. Well I will see how my new Tesla goes after it is delivered to me and how much servicing I really do need.
All that said, anxious to get my new Tesla vehicle and my journey begins from there.
Thanks for the video. Take care.

Regenerative braking 5:16 is not a Tesla technology. The Chevrolet Volt, as far back as 2011 had this feature. In fact, Tesla has "borrowed" a lot from the Volt, including the heat pump.

This is a good video for people who are not Tesla bros. Tesla Bros think they are saving a lot of money on repairs and maintenance....but let's be real, Tesla Bros go to the mechanic to get stuff repaired. If your good with your hands, owning an ICE vehicle is way cheaper than an EV.
Electric cars are cool.... but if you love to go out to the desert, mountains, roudtrips..... electric cars are not the best choice :(.
I'm tryin so hard to convibe my wife go with a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys instead of a model Y. Our TJ and JK are well over 100,000K miles and still running stong. I don't think an EV can do this.

If you're worried about spending 15 - 20 minutes charging at a supercharger, then you shouldn't be buying an electric car in the first place. Tires will wear out depending on how you drive the car which has nothing to do with the Model Y. I could blast my tires to hell in a Mach-E or any other EV if I gunned it constantly. Range anxiety most of the time is something that is overthought and over hyped. It all depends on the user; I drive 25 miles a day to and from work, so I have zero range anxiety as I keep it charged at home. The Tesla supercharger network is so extensive that I have zero worries about not being able to take a road trip. The Model Y is an awesome car and there is a reason why its the most purchased vehicle currently.
