You fight regular Bowser in DT way too soon imo, I think they should have found a moment in mid game to have a way stronger fight.
Edit: Like maybe on top of the mountain or something, like, before activating the Dreamy waves or whatever, you fight solo Bowser. And then make THAT fight way harder in X mode.
And if that wasn't feasible for some reason then they should have made Bowser X WAY stronger

Fun fact: This is way more difficult than the final boss.
Another fun fact: the German version of this game makes this battle like 5 times harder due to a bug you can’t see your own health and the graphics are bugged too

@@ANameOverreaktzCanPronounce751 ye, also my italian version, after 3 rounds almost every model glitches, hardest handicaps are:-fireball attacks becomes invisible (to dodge them you gotta memorize the 2 patterns he might be use and recognize the one he's using before taking free damage)
-the magic window attack (one of the strongest) is impossible to use (the doors and the brother who came out of are completely glitched and undistinguishable for the first second they are on screen making it impossible to recognize the bro and react accordingly)
-being unable to see your own pv and pa and number of items you have left making it really hard to do right decisions about your hp management
-on top of that many attacks like barrels, shell, meteor... have their key items glitched and are harder to pull off but they are still possible unlike the magic window

I absolutely love this game, one of my favourites of all time. The only criticism I have? Is that you don’t get to whoop the bros asses as Bowser!! Seriously though how amazing would that have been?
EDIT: The only reason I can muster is that Nintendo wouldn’t want their poster boy getting destroyed by the bad guy. Let’s face it, if the player was controlling Bowser, Mario and Luigi would get their asses handed to them on a silver platter.

Well, Bowser could have been given his own gauntlet which ends with Mario & Luigi X, which are not the real Mario & Luigi. They could use various bros attacks that Bowser has to dodge, like green shell, or even some from Superstar Saga.

@@Julian-um2om i believe he has two fixed pattens of where his fireballs go. Then he has three pattens for the flames on the ground during the chase.

@@kaizoisevil I think that if he opens his hand while breathing the fire then the fireball will not hit any of the bros, but if he makes a fist then it's directed at either of the bros, then push both buttons at the same time to dodge it, lol
It would have been extremely interesting to have a boss fight where you are Bowser and fight Mario and Luigi.
But M & L are the main protagonists in this game so it might not work out.

The fight as Mario and Luigi against Bowser shows M&L’s side of the story to where they got, and with a lack of info about Bowser’s recent activity, he seems like the bad guy. If they did the same with Bowser and made M&L seem like prime victims for a wallop, a fight like that could work.

I absolutely love this game, this boss in particular took me a year of on and off play to beat. Finally glad to have that 100% completion though.

Ah yes, the secret boss that had a lot of Graphic glitches I'm the international releases, so many that it's almost unbeatable unless you know the attacks and hitboxes ^^
I hadn't known about this. Not only is this a great fight but you fought greatly, using a variety of attacks and timing despite restraints.
I just beat bowser X at level 37. I didn’t have any practice but it took way longer for me since I was so under-leveled: I was doing around 1000 damage with 1 of my 2x strike falling stars. I almost ran out of turns but luckily I’ve watched videos to help me understand his attacks a lot better.
After replaying the game, I defeated Bowser X at Level 45. For you, that's most impressive.
I was able to do it at 35 but that’s cause I got most of the beans in the game, and I did a trick where you remove equipment, eat beans in multiples of 5, then put the equipment back on. This allowed me to get high stats. Even then, it was close due to the turn limit. You have to be good at every bros attack. You also need to make sure you finish Dark Star X in 2 cycles (a cycle referring to weakening him, then damaging him until he gets back up) or you won’t leave yourself enough turns for Bowser X.
When I beat him for the first time last year in June, I had both bros at level 47. He is easily the most difficult boss I've ever taken on in gaming. Then again, I haven't finished Dream Team yet, so I know that the X bosses in that game may be harder.
Dude there is NO WAY bowser can have that much hp. I remember fighting that damn boss and yeah it was extremely hard. But this is ridiculous.

Bowser X has almost 10.8k HP with the challenge medal, and 7.1k without. The game's normal final boss has 2k, and the Dark Star X has around 4.2k.
Challenge medal my dude. It multiplies enemy health and defense by 1.5, and multiplies enemy attacks power by 2.5
@OrionAltHist Sadly, the HP actually caps for Bowser X while I was tracking damage dealt in a run of the fight. In the end it wasn't even close so really, he probably has 9999 HP instead of the 10.8K you think of.
5:54 we're not gonna talk about how for that phase only, not only did LUIGI land all lucky hits, but it was also the only phase where Luigi did more dmg than Mario

halfway through the fight you will encounter graphic errors that will make this fight a bit harder in terms of dodging attacks

Speaking of Jump Helmet: Minor spoilers for Mario and Luigi Brothership:
Jump Helmet uses Luigi's POW stat instead of Mario's (I think it's that way since the roles are swapped.). The first time I used it, I got a lucky hit and dealt 400 damage. My level was roughly low 20s.

If it's tas, it's a really well-humanized one. The minor mistakes that didn't result in him taking damage (missing a star throw, missing a fireball toss) might just be red herrings to make it look more legitimate. Very cool regardless
I highly doubt it's TAS. If it was, then why waste all the effort stretching it out, it wouldn't make it any 'less TAS'. Just Magic Window for a few mins.
On level 36 I beat Bowser X without taking damage, although that was without the challenge medal.
Cam275YT Oof I remember when I beat bowser X I had to grind to a high level and proper badges to have.
Well, here's a tip, make sure you dig up every bean. Also, when giving certain beans to the bros, remove any equipment that boosts that stat by a certain percentage. For example, if there's a pair of boots that increase pow by 20%, and you have 10 pow beans, first remove those boots, eat the beans, then put them back on. You'll see that your pow goes up by 12 instead of 10.
Second, use Mighty Meteor as much as possible in the early bosses. You want to farm up healing items such as star candy and 1-up deluxes. The game doesn't provide you with much going into the gauntlet so you gotta get some more stuff.
I leveled up Mario and Luigi to Level 64 so the Globing thing stop saying to me to grind at that one zone as a kid.

Beating this boss is one thing, but beating it on the cursed cartridge where the sprites get messed up after a while is the ultimate testament of your might and persistence

@@lenengquist592 fr, i played Superstar Saga DX recently and well, it was okey I guess, i had to avoid fighting enemies so im underleveled so bosses are harder and Bowser Minions was really great but BIS remake made boss paterns and some attacks really easy to dodge and thats lame. Maybe just playing it for the Bowser JR side game.
If Luigi's POW is higher than Mario's as the description suggests, why does Mario do more damage than Luigi? Daredevil Boots?
I do love how Mario walks off at the end though as if to say "Yeah cool, we're done here."

Mario is canonically stronger than Luigi and can run faster, while Luigi can Jump higher and stay in the air further and longer than Mario
Luigi is taller but has a slimmer frame, while Mario is shorter and stockier, providing him with better traction

I think this boss is the only one who actually made me use 1-up mushrooms
I beat Bowser X twice today with Level 40.
One time I used the x4 damage badge and the other time the SP/HP badges (50%)
With the x4 badge I dealt 2k damage with jump helmet and Falling Star, which made that a lot easier that time.

Just a few days ago I FINALLY managed to beat this brutal nightmare of a boss. And in the strangest way possible
They should have a part where bowser stays massive during your turns and you have to damage his feet to make him fall over so you can damage his head

The only attack from Bowser X I find impossible to counterattack is his Shy Guy Squad. But then the remake made it way too easier to counter... and I mean way to easier

I was hoping to battle Mario and Luigi as Bowser in this game. We battle Bowser as Bowser, Bowser as Mario and Luigi, and even Mario and Luigi vs themselves, but no Bowser vs the bros...
I think Nintendo is trying to avoid that, children could get an image from Mario defeated that is uncomfortable to Nintendo.

Bowser is ridiculously cool in this game. Like, he's cool a very large chunk of the time, but this game is HIS game. Honestly, Bowser feels more like a main character than Mario and Luigi, even though there's a relatively even split between the two parties. The fact that Bowser got a significantly harder version of his own boss fight in this game as a secret boss is just icing on the cake. Most of the time in playthroughs he only uses like 3-4 attacks in his entire arsenal. In the secret boss? He brought the whole freaking army with some steroids for giant mode. Truly, one of the most iconic gaming villains of all time.

I use Jump Helmet and Excellent!! + Powerful Badges to one-shot/do over 6000 damage to Bowser. Btw my Mario has over 500 POW at Lv60 having equipped POW Gloves, Daredevil Boots (doubles POW but any hit taken one-shots the wearer) and A-OK Wear.

well done, I had to get em up to lv 68 to do it w challenge medal and I died 3 times lol. I played the whole game w it in one of my runs and went no deaths till that guy, bowser x fire does like 300 damage x 5 lol

I made xp from any enemy give 99999 xp, I still could not get to that level. I maxed out the stats like pow, still takes *so* many hits to take down browser X.

Why does everyone use the Super Strike badge combo? It's actually nearly useless. It only increases the damage of the VERY FIRST STRIKE YOU MAKE, so even with the Excellent!! badge, it's nearly useless, except with hammer attacks.
Edit: Excuse my silly past self, this is probably the best badge combo in the game for tactical purposes. It makes attacks like Falling Star deal even more damage and makes the Jump Helmet an actually useful attack.
Because, with the excellent badge, the attack deals *TWICE* the damage.

I literally grinded M&L until they were both level 99 over the course of several months or maybe even a year just to stand a chance of even surviving this fight.
The one for 3ds better have this battle ring in it, Super star saga for 3ds didn't even wanna include it at all

my list of attacks from easiest to hardest:
-giant flame (that you dodge with starlow)
-basic punch
-goomba storm
-giant bowser
-flying spike ball
-shy guy squad
-inhale (because you can't dodge it :P)

Well now I know that my game isnt glitchy cuz the fire flower did that abnormal order of bros shooting the fireballs to.
I finish defeating Bowser X with 1 turn left, it felt so rewarding!

I was so scared to fight this boss for 12 years. I got to level 67 back in 2010 to fight him but chickened out. Then, I grinder to level 80 and beat class 7 on 3 tries. I was so excited. What’s crazy is The is Harder and a lot less fun than Dream Teams classes.
I have not played the original, but i beat this on the 3ds on February 3,2019. I had Mario on level 50 and Luigi on level 51.
He was kind of easier in the remake, but still the game's hardest boss. Also, you had to fight the previous 6 bosses in addition to Bowser X in the original.
i wish the deluxe version has dark bowser x when you have to beat dark bowser which he has 10k health under 2 hours and he gains 1000 if you dont hit him that would be a cool and a challenge

Well if you know his attack pattern then the issue is the limited turns which to overcome requires leveling up so darn much that this challenge becomes boring even before trying
And yes of course you need to know every bros attack perfectly to inflict as much damage as possible without losing turns using jump or hammer attacks because you know that you suck with one of those…
But anyway nice no damage
