I loved the way "Only You" was implemented in the game. Jacob was a very crafty villain, with his take on Classical Conditioning and his overall nature, made him a better villain than Joseph. May not be a tragic back story like Faith's, but my favourite antagonist because of his unique approach to indoctrinating the deputy.
I like who you really doesn't rain wash the character he more or less brainwashes the player forcing you to go doing something over and over again your mind starts becoming numb to it I just love that fact about him
well he does have a tragic backstory, he was an iraq vet who had to walk for days and eat his own teammates, which gave him ptsd so he was discharged, after going back home he became homeless till Joseph found him
That car was the perfect trap for the deputy and his friends, Jacob probably put that song on the radio or something like that so if the deputy left, the classical conditioning he has from that song will make him kill all of his friends in the car.
No matter what ending you choose the bombs drop. Even if you leave Montana by not arresting Joseph. Just a matter of how you spend your time before then.
No the bombs don’t drop because ubi confirmed that the resist ending is the canonical ending because that’s the only one where the bombs drop, leading to far cry new dawn
It’s still crazy that either way Joseph Seed wins. Kind of a good shake up with video games nowadays. Just because your the hero doesn’t mean you’ll win.
The human brain is a fascinating thing. Once you start poking around in there, it's surprising what you can get it to do under the right circumstances... You're familiar with the term "classical conditioning", right deputy? It's when a condition stimulus... say... a song... leads to a reflexive response. In this case to train... to kill... to sacrifice.

@@phyro__3595 that’s the only good ending I disagree with the bombs still dropping tho coz in FC6 it’s never mentioned and the Seeds are just florists in the lore

Something crazy is that Jacob didnt just brainwash the deputy (Rook) he also brainwashed the player and when he talks to the deputy its more like he’s talking to the player not the deputy
I got to sad when i saw all the people the rook saved drugged with the bliss man qnd the fact when you hear only you start playing it cuts to the credits but the rook kills his friend returns to joseph and the nukes still fall... god damn man this shit hits different... I live this song dearly now
Because it’s Farcry. It’s villains Are Always so Goddamn Good. From the moment I started the game I wondered what would happen at the end. Then I remembered I’m not playing a game. I’m playing Farcry...And Farcry is a world of darkness with no brightness at the end.
IMO this is the only good-ish ending. In the resist ending, the bombs fall and near everyone dies worldwide. In the secret ending, the cult remains at its peak and presumably the national guard is brought in, which causes the nukes to drop with the seventh seal being broken with Joseph’s arrest or death. This ending however suggests the death of the 4 horsemen (the protagonists) themselves except for the deputy, who is likely arrested and sent to a psych ward and what he says about the cult, the bliss, the conversions, the brainwashing, will never be believed as it will be seen as the desperate ramblings of an insane man who lost his mind and went on a rampage in Hope County, ending with his friends. The cult is at its lowest and the National Guard is never sent, so the nukes never fall. It is an immensely depressing ending, but alas it is the best one in the greater good.
If you played fc5 you'd know that one of the antagonists uses this song "only you" to manipulate the protagonist "rook" in a way that makes him kill anyone in his way, altho he's dead but the song still brainwashes rook and he kills everyone in the car
A lot of people remember this song for this game, but if we go back to 2014, we hear it again in a similar context. Batman Arkham Knight has it play on the Phonograph in the opening part of the Joker memory phase where Joker kills the other villains in Bruce’s head, and it fits so well because of Joker’s image that Batman is the only one to fulfill him. Same here where the main character is the only one left to fulfill Joseph’s prophecy.
When u walk away and get in the car and drive the only you song plays and u get dizzy and kill his friends they didn’t show it because they didint want u to but if u wondering why I think that because when Jacob used we went in a killing rampage so you see?
My buddy and i flipped a coin to pick the ending, i won and picked resist. I wish i picked this one. Both endings are bad but this one would've been a better jaw drop
