- There has been tension reportedly building in New England between Bill Belichick and Mac Jones. Jones called offensive coaches in Alabama last season as the New England Patriots experiment with Matt Patricia running the offense didn’t work. This reportedly rubbed Bill Belichick the wrong way. Another report has detailed how Bill Belichick has shopped Mac Jones around to other teams this offseason. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react.

Agreed I actually think Mac Jones is a pretty solid QB and would trade for him in a heartbeat if I was one of these teams that needs a QB. Plus I'll get him for a bargain, he's very cheap for next 2 years on a rookie deal amd if it works I can keep him for a 3rd year under 5th yr option at a reasonable price. Worst case i get a great back up/spot starter again on the cheap for next few years.

@DraftMagic Again based on what 1 bad year with a unprecedented Defensive coordinator running the offense and special teams guybas QB coach. Mac look better than all the rookies QBs with a real coordinator. Then last year happened. And don't bring up Zappe. 75% of his yards came off lucky big plays that the WR had to come down in traffic with the ball because zappe threw it up for grabs or make a diving catch cuz Zappe has no arm and threw a very inaccurate pass.
Remember in the eagles Super Bowl I think it was he benched their best corner Malcolm Butler that whole SB because he went out celebrate them going to the Super Bowl and a few of the ex patriots players been saying if it wasn’t for Brady being in the locker room they would’ve been left and how Brady was the one keeping it calm

Brady took Belichicks BS’s bc of him being 199. Mac doesn’t feel that way with being a 1st rounder. Can’t blame him & can’t rely on your QB to take care of the offense for you.
That drafted 199th stuff stopped mattering after the first Super Bowl or two. Brady had more juice with the entire Patriots organization and Belichek than Mac has or ever could have.

Mac Jones is better than a lot of last year's starting QBs. He's better than Marcus Mariota, Andy Dalton, Zac Wilson, Davis Mills, and Sam Darnold. And you could make a case he's better than Taylor Heinicke, Kenny Pickett, Ryan Tannehill, Daniel Jones, Brock Purdy, Carson Wentz, etc. Someone will give him a shot.

I've been saying since the last 2 years Brady was in NE that the GM Bill B. is getting in the way of coach Bill B. It's almost like the GM side of him is trying to increase the difficulty for the coach side of him, just so he can prove how great he is. He needs to realize that people don't care about your personnel when you win, so you might as well stack the deck, instead of stripping it.

The bug was already out there when Robert Kraft told BB about Lamar being willing to play for the Patriots. Plus they've been indecisive about who's starting. Wouldn't be crazy to think he's looking for a replacement.
It doesn’t matter to BB where they went to get his new/old OC. It’s the fact that he went outside of the organization at all. On the other hand, Jones wouldn’t have gone to ask anyone else for help or advice if BB had selected a competent replacement for McDaniels and not tried to change the offense, or at least did a better job of hearing out his QB.
