I ran a trailer business for awhile. Ended up having to do a lone recovery on the side of the freeway in the middle of utah one night. Had to drop the rear axle by myself and tow the trailer 30 miles per hour on an 80 mile per hour freeway. That was nerve wracking. Great job guys!
I worked for the DOT in Nevada. I had a service truck with a boom and air compressor, and a welder. Even though I could do a great number of different repairs on the side of the road, my Boss said that if I could not accomplish the repair in 10 minutes, I was to call for the transport. We had a heavy duty trailer with a winch that could load a fully loaded plow truck with the tires locked. It was a beast. My Boss did not want me working along side of the freeway, and I was happy about that!!! Thanks for the video again folks. Over the decades of offroading here in southern BC we have found 2 truck campers that have come off the back of the owner's truck. Both of them were in really, truly interesting spots and I was curious as to how they'd get them back on or even out of there at all. One was nearly new and the damage wasn't going to buff out... Anyway kudos to the camper fellow for having it tied down fairly well. Merry Christmas all.
I had an old Dodge duelie and had a 3,000 pound camper in the bed. I was on a desert road causing along at 50 MPH, (it was a nice gravel road), when I hit a washout. The truck came off the ground 3 times. The washout was 18" deep and 6' across, with straight up sides. When all of the dust settled the camper (Lance) was sitting on one of the wheel wells. It broke 2 tie-downs, but did nothing to the camper. I was impressed. I was able to use the camper jacks to get it relocated in the bed, and used a couple of ratchet straps to replace the broken tie-downs, and continued on. That was definitely one well made camper.

The call comes in and Matt's Off Road Recovery is put into action. Going through Matt's mind is all of the equipment needed for a successful run down to the smallest detail; with safety first. Ed is observing the sky for any change in the weather and ready to give the report. Rudy is thinking of the stress of every welded part the Morrvair will be under, but knowing it will stand the test of time and probably thinking of the food stop after the job is finished. Lizzy is in the back seat carrying in her mind all of her horse riding skills and knowing how to hitch up a wagon, car, truck or RV with a long rope, knowing it has no other way to go except out and Ed said, "we got the job done." !!!

Ed is the man...out here hooking up lines with a cig in his mouth.

Hahaha your funny
just got to love the exhaust sound of the Morrvair. Tuned perfectly. Lady, u gotta sit Max down and explain, "Max, u want to come recovering, u got to behave man". A very MERRY MERRY Christmas to you all at MORR, and to all you 919,000 subscribers out there. Sorry, wouldway take too long to write all your names.
Thanks for continuing to explain your methods so I can learn! Here’s a gem that keeps coming up because it’s counter intuitive for most folks and was again with the dodge camper fellow: straighten the wheels!
taco bell + long car rides... LOL
Never a dull episode with the MORR crew =]
When you were pulling the travel trailer at 120 miles per hour, it reminded me of a RV/travel trailer race. I saw one at a small dirt track. It was kind of a smash up derby by the end of the race. Funniest thing I have ever witnessed...lol
Love the video! Keep'em coming!!
Glad you brought back Lady on the job. He wasn’t kidding, it is a tight squeeze getting in that trailer.
Just amazed at how capable that Morevair is. You can tell Matt has kicked up a tumbleweed in his day.
Good to see Lady back out there, she looks really happy.
10:30 It was interesting to see the Adventure Cycling organization's trailer. I am a member. They provide maps for back country bicycling and bikepacking and also provide tours. This is obviously one of their supported tour trailers.
I'd love to see that Ram with the camper going down the road "after" the recovery. I'd wana stop the driver & ask what he's been up to, how his day has been. Would be a fun conversation lol.
👍👍👍
15:05 - Lady looking a bit at a loss without Max to “herd” around. Where’s my “sheep”?
What a great family, a great company and it makes me happy watching the interaction. And as for the Morevair, that has the best sound ever. Your rock climbing buddies are just in awe of that beast. Great job and Merry Christmas!
Long time no see Lady, or Max as well. Loved to see them run around on the road to and from recoveries. Good to find them now and then.
I'm just so amazed with how well Matt's equipment does the job so easy lol...On to the next one lol
Its great to see how these people can really help to get other vehicles out of tough spots
Yeah……tough spots🤤
These are some of the bravest men I have ever seen. Eating two Burrito Supremes before heading out to the wilderness where there are no toilets....braaaaaave. :) Love the channel. Brings back many fond memories of my serious off roading days. Part of the fun of four wheeling is finding out what you cannot get through :)
I always Love seeing Ed 🥰🥰🥰 and listening to his weather reports. I am an animal lover so I always enjoy when Lady and Max ride along on recoveries.
Happy Holidays Everyone ⛄🎄🦌
Stay Happy 😂 Safe and Healthy everyone 💕
Merry Christmas!
I met Ed in person and as part of conversation he slipped in a weather report. Great guy
Good work on that recovery Jefe!! Great eye on the rope, good judgement on securing the load, and making sure the turbo spooled prior to the rope pull. Solid job!!
As someone who has gotten into wheeling somewhat recently, this channel has taught me so much valuable information
Wheeling?
@@marinbobster8663 Four Wheeling = off roading

As always Matt's Off-road Recovery videos are never boring!
I just love when lizzy is their, great personality, Eds weather report is awesome.
13:33 the fact this dude started cranking his wheel to the right trigged the heck out of me... What the hell!?
Watching Matt and the crew is the best way to start the Moor-Ning. We love you guys and support you.
You people have found such a brilliant way to pull the difficult off the road jobs, that you make it look simple! Amazing!
Lol, replacing a spring on a trailer that says "how long ago was your last adventure?"
Not too long ago, apparently.
not changing a tire, iy was a broken spring repair
@@rogerdunn5491 there. Fixed.
Always good to see the dogs along for the ride. Looking forward to seeing max in the banana.
Matt, there is definitely an art to recovery and you are a master! The ease you showed pulling that Raptor back on the road was impressive!
These videos are so relaxing. I hope you enjoy your job half as much as it looks like you do.
Matt: sees a Raptor in a ditch by a curve
Matt: So it was a speed related issue
lol
The second he sees it’s a ford raptor he (completely fairly) concludes it was a speed related incident. Stuff like that is the hidden gold of this channel
Great cinematography on the last recovery Matt & Cullen. Pretty cool seeing the larger landscape while you’re making the recovery.
Just subscribed to your channel. There is something special about the people it Utah. I live in the Chicagoland area and travel west every year to camp. I always just end up in Utah. Its not just the scenery its the people to. So friendly and down to earth. Great channel!!
i wish for all your family and you matt a merry christmas and happy new year from QUEBEC CANADA. i watch your video all the time and learn inglish in the mean time. THANK YOU
Poor Max! He is missed, love seeing Lady on a recovery again.
I always look forward to the new videos never know the recoveries that you will have you guys work together so well.
I think if the guy steering the camper would of kept the wheels straight he wouldn't of got stuck the second time.
Rudy always impresses me with the leader that he is and how he is capable of handling things when need be
He was wearing suede Beatle boots and when he kicked the tumbleweed it got stickers in his socks. Real boots are the accepted footwear for men here in Farmington, NM Four Corners.😂
Ed unwinding the rope with the Cig in his mouth is iconic. What a legend
Haven't watched in awhile but today we shall change that. Glad the weather report and lady are still here. Also Haven't seen the movair since it was a chassis nice to see if finished
It's been a wile, the Morvair is sick!
Good to have Lady back on the jobs
@@manesse7 Lizzys a boss. She did alot of fabbing on the banana 4 link upgrade. She's being groomed to be an expert in off road recovery. 👍👍
We'll always put our thumbs up for Ed! Merry Christmas to the MORR crew.
I do wonder how these vehicles get so far off the road. Sometimes as you're pulling them out it becomes apparent but sometimes it is just "how'd they DO that?" Thanks for the why. Enjoy as always.
Most of the time im guessing they pulled over to pass someone, or maybe panicked when someone was coming at them, and then slid off
They drive...
I never get enough of that exhaust note!!!!
Just started watching Matt's Chanel about 2 weeks ago and started from day 1 and just got all caught up.....so wish there was more. Love your videos Matt and Team 🇨🇦🇨🇦✌️✌️
My God, do you do anything else other than YT?
Matt, you definately need another shirt that says "Don't run over the Rope!" On the back.
@@pinetree2473 yes I do I also work 50 hours a week and run a household. Just don't sleep. I do watch quit a few YTers. ✌️
Is there a way to watch a channel in chronological order?
@@ripmiata if your on your phone or tablet I believe you can. I just scroll to the end and watch from there, you have to go out and into the next video each time but it's not that bad. I watch on my TV
I watch these videos to get an idea of how to avoid getting stuck and for ideas on how to get out, but mainly to see the beautiful scenery of Utah's Colorado Plateau. So much fun to see where I've been on geology field trips.
Matt, you guys have an awesome job. Granted you have scary cold one's now and then, but you are out and about in the fresh air. Plus your charity efforts are tops!
I am still kind of Blown Away by the variety of weather that you have in your state it seems like in the winter you can drive from an area where there is 4 ft of snow then down to the desert with giant temperature fluctuations
Never a boring episode from Matt's Off Road Recovery. Always wanted to know how Ed likes the MOORVAIR.
I doubt he likes it as much as the 'Golden Nugget'.
As cramped as those are, the full-size GMs of the time didn't actually have much more room
Love seeing Ed in his khaki pants, short sleeved button-up shirt, baseball cap, and cigarette hanging out of his mouth while he's working. He's like all of my uncles in the 80's rolled into one. Brings back a flood of good memories.
Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are having a great week & everyone is staying safe. To whoever is reading this I hope your Christmas is great & you all have safe travels! Much Love to everyone on Matt’s recovery team & to anyone that needs a pick me up!
I read it and Merry Christmas to you!!
Merry Christmas!
Rudy, don't you know that you are supposed to leave your tow mirrors up at all times... Especially when you are NOT even towing anything.😂🤣😂
So glad to see how much this channel has grown!! Deserves every bit of it. Can’t wait for the 1 million mark n to see what the gang has in store for us.
The sound of the Morrvair under power is just a thing of beauty!!
Love you channel guys!
Nicely done! That looked like a heavy pull, but light work for the MORRVAIR 😎🤘🏻
Those guys made this job so easy looking. Prior to Rudy and Jefe! Not a pleasant experience to say the least
i loved it when rudy called out the dodge tow mirrors. not often you see them out without a ghost trailer! lol
