You could put in a minisplit, which is a ductless heating/cooling system. Window unit or mini split would really be your two best options. I don't have either in my house but both will run well as long as its not too too hot, 110+ (very rare here)
Well with all the Californians moving to Vancouve Washington. Prices have gone up. Tarffic has made driving on the roads more dangerous. Also it does rain a lot and we do get snow. Not saying your not welcome to come we are all friendly. But don't make Vancouver WA. California north.
I was scoping out Camas, walking downtown. I asked the kids working at the Starbucks in the Safeway if they ever had any problems with homeless people. They were really sweet, but looked confused, as if I'd asked them if they had ever been to the moon. LOL. As a Portlander: Camas is NICE.
What is the healthcare situation? I’m guessing if you are a Washington resident, you need care in Washington, not Oregon, right? Are there decent hospitals? How about libraries?
I think health care really really depends on your own individual situation, job etc. I'm not the person to ask! For hospitals, we have a lot in the area - OHSU, Peacehealth, Legacy Salmon Creek, the VA hospital etc. Every city in our area has at least 1 library from what I've found
Enjoying your videos. Can you please do a video of cost of living specially the utilities in the winter months for a home 3/2bth between 1700 to 2100 sq ft for a two adults (retired) or for a family of 4 for your other viewers. Can You also talk about how long the winter gray skies lasts is it six months? Thanks.
Thanks for watching! It would be really difficult to nail down specifically what those utilities will be because there are so many differing factors, but likely around $300/mo total for water, sewer, garbage, internet, electric, and gas. I would say we have mostly gray skies (with days of blue/sunny sprinkled in) from late Nov - Mid April

Thanks for watching and commenting! Do you live in California or Camas?
What are the options if you don't have an air conditioner other than a window unit? Also, how effective are they in your climate?

HI, is basement standard in house or just in hill? Full basement is great.
The only place where you'll see a daylight basement here is when the home is on a partial hill. Structurally, this is the only way it makes sense.
