We all need to start a petition to get this show back on they cancelled for no reason at all it was popping one of the best shows Netflix had idc if there older it was more to the show than just those characters the scenes of the Bronx in the 70s was so on point like they literally went in a Time Machine and filmed also the club scenes back then was also very on point with the drugs and the coke and the dancing the way everybody dressed I’m sure it was expensive asf but that was a great show and nas is one of the best lyricist rappers of all time 💯percent
I haven't seen ep 2 yet. I'm hoping they can switch for background on Herc, over to River Park Towers for Bambataa, to LIC previous to the Bridge Wars, etc.. I'll be watching though, to see if they get to the projects and the start in their community centers.

I liked The Get Down a lot. Didn't love it was a little too long here and there. But overall the time & spirit was captured. I wonder where they filmed some of the exterior cause they made it look just like old New York... not that I was there.

I'll admit it wont be for everybody and honestly knowing hip hop history makes it so much richer because what might seem cheesy or silly make perfect sense within context of that time period in that area and their influences. So it certainly has different enjoyment levels the further away it gets from the target demographic
