Would you guys stop saying silly things about how he would be good at classical guitar! He's a bass player and bass is a different music instrument. And for those who thinks bass is easier than guitar you're just ignorant about music! As a bass player I can say that we play bass because we love the object, the style, the sound and everything that comes with it... that's one of the reasons i've chosen bass instead of guitar... Still, he's amazing, so please respect this instrument and those who decided to fall in love with!
Bass=easy to learn. Hard to master. Guitar=harder to learn easier to master. I disagree with you slightly. He would still be dam impressive on a classic guitar as a lot of his technics have come from guitar players, but also other drummers and other musicians also. But yes I agree completely on everything else. I can play both but favour bass. Each to they're own :)
Aaron Tottman The bass PARTS that are written for most music are easier to learn than the guitar parts. But the bass itself is more physically demanding because of the string width and spacing. Because guitars are physically easir to play, and because the register of the tones are more audible when notes are being played quickly, guitar became more of a virtuoso instrument in mainstream music
Bass isn't easier to learn. It's easier, maybe, to make a sound from than a guitar but to really learn it is just as hard as learning any instrument. A guitarist could not just suddenly pick up a bass and play like this video.
This is immensily. IMMENSILY. Under appreciated. Wooten, nor the internet, nor the world itself knows what gold it has it has. And we will only know many years beyond our lives.

Just beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye.
This is not just about "Bass": it's about Music. Victor is such a good, wise and intelligent man and shows it through his music. Sorry, Music!!!
I LOVE the bass and I watch so much content on UA-cam about it that sometimes watching someone play can get boring or even put me to sleep (in a good way from watching too many videos) but with Victor I can literally watch this man for hours and be amazed for that same amount of time
4:57 that little *squeak*-uh! is one of my favorite bits of this song
I come back to this video every few months, and it gives me goosebumps every single time
This is the single best video on UA-cam
I don't even know where to begin. Absolutely incredible , so fluid, such genius and such an inspiring man both in personality and proficiency. Beyond words!
Im a drummer victor wooten, and playing drums with you has been a lifelong dream of mine. You are so humble and your passion for music is contagious and you inspire me on so many levels. Thank you for being you victor i am so happy your such a powerful influence in my musical journey.
This song gives me the chills every single time. Victor is the teacher.
Me: oh this looks fun!
My bass and fingers: **literally crying**
My wife plays this clip whenever I go to sleep, it makes me sob and fall into slumber. We love you, Victor Wooten!!! From South Africa.
I was actually waiting for a thunderous applause and screams when it ended.. it would be very deserved. But the silence was even better.
How do you like it more than once? This is so beautiful! Thank you Victor!
What a aesthetic slapping and note sense, they just sound so amazing every note feels from Heaven. ❤
Victor Wooten - The Music Lesson. Read it and it will change your life if you are a bass player, or even a musician at all.
Awesome book for any musician; I’ve re-read countless times 🤓🎸🤟
I'm reading it right now. Amazing thing!
Is it that good?
Daniel Steinhardt Yes. I’m reading it right now, as a guitarist of 16 years and it is transforming me, both as a human and as a musician.
Agreed. It has completely changed my relationship with Music!
One of the best musicians I've ever heard.
Since the first time I heard his art... I wasn't blown away... I was mesmerised...
The first half makes you want to play bass more than anything in the world. The second half makes you want to quit playing bass right now.
Aaron Tottman Easy to learn because most bass player are ex guitarist that loves thhe feeling of earthquake moving through them.
Aaron Tottman
The bass PARTS that are written for most music are easier to learn than the guitar parts.
Nathan B Triggered.
4:57 Ugh That Ugh has more talent than anything you did this lifetime. How's that feel? Yeah, i'm feeling it too. It's rough.
Yeah felt it too
That feeling is damn inspiring is what it is! Made me want to play bass in 5 minutes, this dude is insane.
@@_yy_003 r u sure about that xd
I respect this man whose personality, individuality and his soul is really reflected in his music. I very appreciate it!
I love ur bass solo... Thank you so much! Victor Wooten..
I has to be the most amazing thing I've ever heard in my life
This is immensily. IMMENSILY. Under appreciated. Wooten, nor the internet, nor the world itself knows what gold it has it has. And we will only know many years beyond our lives.
I almost choked to death on this, good gracious me
the final boss of music
Victor Wooten do not play the Bass, he let the Bass talk. Just FANTASTIC .
I’ve watched this so many times. victor is simply amazing! Beyond talented
I'm not usually a fan of solo bass songs but that was beautiful, not just amazing technique but incredible melody and although technically challenging not gratuitous, every note has purpose
Sem duvida alguma ele é o melhor co trabalhista de todos os tempos ... na minha opinião... pois ele consegue aplicar e aliar diversas técnicas em seus maravilhosos BASS CAMP parabens mestre !!
We took our kids to witness Mr Wooten yesterday and it was Amazing !
A healing experience!.
Thank You Victor.
I was OVERJOYED to meet you
I hope that bass was at least over 18
Nope only 16 😭😅
Now it's 2019 so that bass (Or at least it's model) is now 24 years old
call the cops just to be sure
LMAO....good one
BAHAHAA!!!
04:12 Victor tried to sneak in some HARMONICS!!! He is truly a MASTER of BASS
Check out his dvd video called "grove workshop". On the "extras" he talks about doing left handed harmonics and its absolutely mind boggling.
Truly a maestro on the bass...Victor Wooten👍
i think he should be using OMG pickups
Was bist Du für ein “Dummschwätzer“...Sag lieber nichts...
Spiel Bass...
I wish I could see a collab with Jordan Rudess on Keys, Guthrie Govan on guitar, Gavin Harrison on drums, and Victor Wooten on bass. That would be amazing.
I'm all for that!
I would rather put Tosin Abasi on guitar.
Hell, put both of em on guitar, that'd be a sight to behold
TRU
I'd like to see Marco Minnemann and Gavin Harrison work on drums together and exchange a percussive solo section in a song, and Tosin, Guthrie, and Victor can take the next part and keep switching parts, and then Rudess's solo in the end, and all the guitarists start playing the same line as him in the end and fade out. More detailed than I intended...
VICTOR Your music is always very good. Health and blessings
Never disappoints...
I love how he knows exactly what notes he is playing throughout the chaos 😂
Truly beyond believable. He makes that bass roll over and beg. A true master.
dude has the hands of a blacksmith with the agility of a pianist. frking brilliant and im not easily flabbergasted.
