Hi Mick, Grain stems from the Latin word, "granum" which refers to the seed of a plant, or, grain. Grains come from many different crops and they call it a grain elevator because buckets are fastened in a long vertical belt (called the leg) that scoops the grain and moves it (elevates it) from the pit to the bin or from the bin out to the load-out spouts. My dumbass boss at my elevator gas 2 brand new bins that together hold 1.6 million bushel of corn that IS ALL WET IM TALKING 18.6 TO 19 ....And our dryer is broken down and he hasn't started building the new new job one......I can't wait for him to be fired

Start by volunteering a a local or not so local farm to be sure it's for you. Befriend an older farmer who needs help.
