I love the video to this track. Vena Sera is one of my favorite albums from them as it contains great songs such as "Brainiac", "Well Enough Alone", "I Get It", "Saturdays", and "Humanoid". Thanks for your reaction!
To me Vena Sera era Chevelle is true Chevelle. It’s the album where they finally let go and weren’t afraid to explore new sounds while still remaining heavy and catchy all at the same time
Yes! Vena Sera! Love this song off that album. Isn’t the bass just delicious? This is the one where we get a first look at Dean and he doesn’t disappoint. The vocals are a bit over dubbed and muddy so I agree it doesn’t sound like Pete most of the song…BUT it’s what makes this track so unique from their others. It’s an upbeat and grungy vibe that they haven’t gone back to since! Other great ones to add to the list are Well Enough Alone, Brainiac and Antisaint. Keep it up.
As most Chevelle songs that don't sound to me like the 100th re-iteration of The Red, I also like this song with the exception of the short "laugh at the violence" sections. Love the new look, too
Now that I think about it have you already heard stuff from Point #1? If you want some young Chevelle with Pete trying his Maynard impression it's a nice time capsule. Some good songs like "Mia", "Point to You" and "Anticipation" are on there and the album is very stopped down compared to the band's future albums.
Yeah, I don't know. I like the song. I'm just confused, as usual. I even don't know where I am these days. But any Chevelle is good Chevelle, right? :D
The whole album sounds a little overproduced. Also Pete said he was tring to get into the upper register of his voice while recording it. No one else is singing ,pleease stop :)))
It’s because this album they tried to distance themselves from the sound of the past and who knows, they probably just f’d around and let the producers do their work for them. But that’s what makes this one so different. This album will grow on you, after some listens, it’ll take shape!
Definitely not Joe 🤣🤣🤣. This was what I would call the We Hate Joe album 😛 This is not one of my faves. I will say the video for this song is pretty interesting. From this album, I would suggest “Well Enough Alone” or “In Debt to the Earth” next. As always, thank you for giving CheVelle a spotlight. ❤️
For a change of pace, I still reccommend you react to Endlessly official acoustic or studio version. Acutally you should react to acoustic first then studio to see how different and similar they are. Also, Ghost and Razor is one of the closest to Tool sounding songs I've heard them do (while still keeping their signature sound). Both off of Niratias, G&R would be good for you to react to too. Its basically Door to Door cannibals meets Tool with a splash of Audioslave imho. Oh and even if you never react to it, check out Test Test Enough..or maybe add it to one of your reactions as its shorter. I just listened to a live version of it..so good!
Nice! Vena Sera was the first Chevelle album I bought, despite being a fan of them since the late 90s. Good song, but not my favorite from that one (probably a tie between Saferwaters and Antisaint, if I had to pick from that album). Also, I think you'd really enjoy the band Gemini Syndrome. If it's not super lame to ask for a birthday request... please check out their song "IDK".
I personally adore this song ! But I seem to really like the more unusual chevelle songs . I also first started listening to it back when vena sera was the only album to me , so I can't see how it's not Chevelle lol
Bands like Tool and Slipknot will gain the most traction because of how vast and massive their fanbase is, so the algorithm will push the creator's videos that feature them in some way. Chevelle is obviously way less known than the two so don't be too discouraged :). Also I adore this song for the fact that Pete is using his voice in a different light with the effects used alongside it
Based on your comments I've seen in other videos, I'm guessing your a fan of emo music. I may be completely off, but I also enjoy depressing lyrics (oxymoron? Lol) . I would like to suggest Motionless in White. Disguise or Voices is a good jumping on point for them. Nothing too crazy, but very catchy. I don't know if you'd like anything from them prior to the album Reincarnate, but anything from there on is fair game. They also have a trilogy of songs called Broadcasting from Beyond the Grave that are based on horror stories. Just don't listen to Not My Type. You wouldn't like that song. And if you like that, check out Ice Nine Kills last two albums, The Silver Scream (2018) and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood (2021). All those songs are based on horror & suspense movies/books (Jaws, The Crow, It, Halloween, American Psycho, etc). Sorry for the very long comment, just suggesting some stuff you might enjoy. Also, Falling In Reverse if you don't already listen to them :)
Yeah, I have a bit of emo in me. I've seen Motionless in White around the comment section for quite a while but I've never heard them. It sounds like they'd be a good pick for Halloween month next month, yes? Thanks for the suggestions, and never apologize for a long comment. I appreciate it. :D
I've never been a fan of this track even after the whole album grew on me. The effects they use on Pete's vocals on top of the lyrics just don't do it for me. I know it's addressing the fad mentality but lyrically its just very weak compared to the bands other songs. Kinda like Pete tacked this track on due to the label wanting a mindless hit and giving them just that
True. VS has its weak spots and one of them is production tactics. Many of the songs were “buffed up” to make it on the final cut because they just aren’t all that well written. And vocal effects take away Pete’s vocal character many a times. But it’s their most unique and rhythm driven so that’s what always brings me back to it.
@@posesepulu3771 I actually think the vocal effects used on the album are what helps give it it’s own unique identity. As for the songs not being well written, I completely disagree. Vena Sera has some of their catchiest and strongest songwriting in their discography
@@jarenyoung9389 Oh yeah VS is my favorite album by them. It’s very catchy and does it’s job making me rock out hard. Just saying that lyrically and composition wise it gets a bit stale near the midway/end of the album. Guitar and drum work is phenomenal in VS. But imo Sci Fi is a bit better overall with lyrics and composition.
Well enough alone is a must ❤️
Yes, the MV needs to be done. Lauren needs to see Chevelle during the dark ages lol…and the hair omg
I love the video to this track. Vena Sera is one of my favorite albums from them as it contains great songs such as "Brainiac", "Well Enough Alone", "I Get It", "Saturdays", and "Humanoid".
Thanks for your reaction!
Same .. this album is really great and sick. Love this album
Vena Sera in my opinion is their best album to date. This song especially is one of my favorites off of it.
Love the hair!!!
Hahaa, I liked it.
To me Vena Sera era Chevelle is true Chevelle. It’s the album where they finally let go and weren’t afraid to explore new sounds while still remaining heavy and catchy all at the same time
omg.....joyride
Hair looks good 😉
Always love Chevelle reactions
The Pete Effect leaves you speechless and the Pete Defect leaves you questioning if it's Pete or an imposter lol
LOL! Love it.
I just saw you’re at 6K! 👏
Vena Sera as a whole is a grower for sure. But when it grows on you, then you realize how amazing it is

Eh, I don't love it. But, I don't hate it, either. Yay! Panther piss? Lol! : )

Sounds like Pete to me, more so than some of the tracks from Niratias.
It's Chevelle Day!
Hey. Every day is Chevelle day. :)

Another thing idk if its the lighting or hair-dye but I adore how vibrant the hair is shown in this video!!!!

I don't get it this sounds like Pete
Fizgig
maybe the version you are listening to is sped up to avoid copywrite issues..his voice seems higher than I remember.
Exactly what I was thinking
It's their UA-cam channel though... 🤔
Sounds exactly as I expect, from previous listens. Also sounds like Pete to me… perhaps I’m in the minority lol
It’s the studio version, it’s just new to Lauren’s ears lol 😂😂

Sounds like Pete, not that good
One of my favorites from vena sera is Saturdays!
