Just learning rhino to create a free form front desk for a project and this is exactly what I was looking for, I’ll be able to cnc cut the ribs, fill with foam then fiberglass over. You’ve made a daunting program feel simple
Thank you Scott. I appreciate your kind message. I am helping few furniture fabricators create unique designs in Rhino & grasshopper which they CNC and sell at good prices. I can help you with it through Zoom if it is something that would be good for you.
Hey mate! Thank you so much for this. I am a beginner in Rhino and I find this really helpful! Easy steps to follow, and very well explained by you. TQSM!!
Very helpful and interesting. The challenge from here is to figure out the geometry for cutting these shapes out of sheet material like plywood so that they slot together.
Bring it into soldidworks or fusion etc and you can select each rib as a plane and pick the edges to create the rib to be cut in cnc etc. it’s a manual hub but not impossible
@@The-Celestialcnc and laser cutting are basically the same, depending on the material, cnc, laser or water jet. What I needed to make from this setup I needed to cnc as the material was too thick for laser
Thank you Kris. You can schedule a zoom meeting with me to get more advance in Rhino and execute some projects together. I am happy to help you. My fee will be on hourly basis. You may contact me on my website rhinoprof.com/
Hi! this tutorial is just amazing! Thank you very much. Although, I have one question, why the mesh of my solid is hollow? Each slice is just a contour. Thank you again

Hi man thanks for your tutorial. I was wondering what’s the best way if you were to cnc this - is there a way to get it to slot together? And then a way to flat lay it easily for cnc?? Thanks heaps
you are absolutely correct in the way it will be assembled. I take help of grasshopper to do those connections and laying it flat for CNC we can have a zoom meeting to work it out. i do work with few CNC furniture fabricators to make parametric furniture designs

Yes, You can 3d print it if the thickness of the profile is more than the minimum thickness that the 3d printer can print. I would recommend SLA print over FDM in this type of model. Cheers

very nice tutorial!! well explained!! I'd like to know what set of commands would you follow if you wanted to laser cut those extractions in order to assemble a model of it?
Nice question Elena... we need to use grasshopper to create waffle intersections so that the laser cut pieces can intersect each other perfectly, and its too complex to do in rhino alone.. so we need to use grasshopper definition to create the boolean intersections.

Hi, I have a problem, why after I select the plate, I don't get a button ,, |._ "( green, red and blue line) to raise and extend like you have? Please, help me and thank you!
Yes Brand, that is possible for several reasons (maybe the curves are not closed). In this case, you will have to select Direction and set it manually in the process of extruding curves.
@@RhinoProf I figuered it out. Degrees was on 1. That’s why it didn’t work. But it is fruststrating when you don’t know why it happens. But exporting to vectorworks is Not that optimal.
Hi, I think the spacing is too small or there are too many contour curves that rhino has to generate, therefore it lags a little. It might sometimes show "not responding" but dont worry, it will start working once the contour operation is done. If you think that the software is not doing it correctly then you can press 'ESC' button on the keyboard couple of times and it will cancel the contour command.

Can you tell how to get this model ready for laser cutting?
You need a Grasshopper script to interlock the waffles and then place on flat plane to generate laser cutting drawing
