In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a perforated aluminum facade using modules and a bit of Grasshopper. The project we will be creating is called Al Z's Love Spa, located in Tan City, Vietnam, and designed by T Architects. The process involves creating a single module which will be mirrored and multiplied to create the whole facade. After that, you’ll see how you can create a perforated effect using Vray for Rhino and saving a lot of hardware resources as a result.
The extended version of this tutorial is around 3h long and it is available on our Patreon page. There you will be able to see the complete process of how the building was modeled from scratch, including the modeling methods used and tips and tricks in Rhino. This tutorial will provide a more in-depth look at the creation process and give you a better understanding of the modeling techniques for this project.

Awesome tutorial, very helpful to see the whole workflow. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the feedback! You're welcome :)
Can you explain the last line of your's, the glass material and regular clay material? How to add these inside of geometry?
Happy Holidays designers !
Happy holidays!!! 🥳
Great tutorial! How do you add thickness to the surface? Is that done within grasshopper?
In fact, there's no thickness to the surface, it's a single map applied to a single surface
Thanks for the lecture:) Where could I get the grasshopper script?
It's on our Patreon page, the link is in the description
Everything was fine till Grasshoper, i lost it there, dont understand it all.
Hi from Colombia, nice tutorial
I assume these perforations wouldnt show if you wanted to make a vector drawing with Make2d?
Yes, you wouldn't have perforations if you'd like a vector drawing. This is only visible through Vray frame buffer. That was the whole point, to avoid creating enormous model in Rhino that would crash
How much do the courses cost?
Thanks for reaching out about our Rhino and Grasshopper courses. We offer a range of pricing packages to suit different learning goals and budgets. To help you choose the best option for you, we usually like to schedule a quick Zoom call where we can learn more about your current situation, what you'd like to achieve, and your level of knowledge. This is also an opportunity for us to show you our platform and give you a better idea of what the learning experience with us will be like. We're happy to offer some free tips and advice during the call based on your specific needs. If you're interested in scheduling a Zoom call, just write me an email at dusan@howtorhino.com and we'll go from there! Cheers!
Your mastery is excellent and I am really learning from your video. However, SLOW.... DOWN.... please! Expecially when you got to the grasshopper script you are going to fast to take anything in. I have done a lot of rewatching and pausing! Still, excellent work and I would absolutely pay for more!
We do have paid courses where we go from a complete beginner level to a professional level in both Rhino and Grasshopper. If you're interested, go to our website and check it out
