Yo! As the creator of Workshop G&W, Failboat was not actually using the default alt, as you can tell by the outline being white instead of gray. Instead, he was playing the *last* alt, which is a fun one that changes between all his alts when getting hit. Also don't know whether I'm impressed or disappointed he seemingly didn't use down tilt the whole match, it's an entirely new move lol

I tried out the G&W mod and it's super impressive, especially for a first few days mod. I love the movement changes.
Was that the new tilt at 13:23, where he seems to hold a crab above his head to snip at the opponent?

They got all the way to revealing one character in an animated trailer before the game releases

They reached the goal, the extra announcer packs just aren’t in the game yet since it’s early access

I really love how Octodad hasn't been developed with moves that reference the game, but with moves that reference what a majority of players of the game have done that have become recognized with the game itself. From how his arms are twisted together with the up-attack to simulate how hard you could get yourself stuck in yourself or other items to his down attack which is the most popular method of dancing in the game, just taking one of your limbs and making huge circles with it. Now if only his ledge get-up animation were the same way you could lift yourself up in the game; raising your foot unreasonably high with the main body following behind.
Well the up air is based on his key art, and you could argue the down special where he hugs you has ties to the ending cutscene of Dadliest Catch, but yeah you make a really good point

@@jacob.g.l1592 A lot of moves in fighting games that have pre-existing characters just use the moves the character can do. Octodad is a character whose movements are defined by the player, so for his moveset, the developers looked at the ways players play the Octodad game and put those in the game.
octodad looks so fun to play as. his animation is loose or smooth and makes him just look great
Can confirm, he's really fun! And I usually don't like tether recovery characters
If a had nickle for everytime I was hyped for an indie fighting game with a small roster that easily implemented custom content that's in early access...

Although this game has it's problems, I really love it. The movement, the characters, and the custom stuff too! The music as well goes crazy

This game looks fun! I like the assist mechanic, it reminds me of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

The animated doodles as a full-on skin for characters would be kind of hype actually
I wish that Lea from CrossCode wasn’t just an assist, I wanted her to be in the main roster.

I mean it is possible could be, seeing as the players already have assists themselves
She is shown with the other main fighters... so it's possible that only her assist has been added so far and that she will be a full fledged fighter in later builds
I've played a lot of downwell and seeing how different things from the game were translated to welltaro's moveset here is really cool. I saw the arm attack and immediately knew what it was based off of
Fun fact - Welltaro is from a game called “Downwell” where you descend down a vertical well with next-to-no stopping, utilizing The Gunboots to “hover”
I love how they included a character from rivals, my current favorite platform fighter
You know who i want for fraymakers? the great Papyrus. Sans wouldnt make sense, he only fights when he has to, that being genocide but Papyrus would fight, also he could have fun moves, not just bones
I know the game isn't even out, but if I were to have a dream pick for this game, it would be Shantae. I'm glad that she had some minor rep in Smash, but I feel it's about time she becomes a fully playable character.

I would like to see characters like Slugcat (Rain World), Ori (Ori and the Blind Forest/Ori and the Will of the Wisp), and Quote & Curly (Cave Story) make it into this game.
Facts I would genuinely main slugcat also with the new downpour dlc released recently
Ori is already in Rivals of Aether btw, but yeah I would love to see the slugcat, especially if the moveset includes aspects from Downpour, like Artificer’s blast jump.
Getting Cave Story Characters means working with Nicalis though, so I wouldn't hold my breath
Since I like Super Smash Bros, I should play Fraymakers! I've seen the trailer and gameplay, it looks fantastic! Love to try this game out
those animated doodles are just the sketching before they making to line work phase, plenty of games like the street fighter series which uses sprites will sometimes have handdrawn animations and sometimes use actual bodies to draw with pixel art over it, and i believe a similar process is happening here
Very impressive and looks like a fun game try out. If I had to pick some indie characters to join the Fray it would be, Hat Kid, Shovel Knight, Sans (Obviously), Bendy (from Bendy and the Ink Machine) and Springtrap (FNAF 3).
I've been here since the Kickstarter, and seeing big time UA-camrs make content of it just makes me SO FUCKING HAPPYYYYYYYYY

Legit this game gave me a smash bros moment cause I haven't heard of some of these indie games before but reading all the names of these games I'm super interested in getting into them. Like Downwell in particular. Just like how I tried metroid and F- zero thanks to smash
Unlike multiverses fraymakers actually looks fun to play for more than 30mins. That and they don't have a paragraph worth of text for abilities explaining how they work. Also I really didn't like the cooldown on abilities thing in multiverses so this will actually keep my attention I feel like.
Multiversus seemed fun but I was put off by all the free to play stuff
It's a good thing this game is going to be in development for so long with its massive kickstarter campaign
I was surprised not to see the Dead Cells Headless. I feel like they would be perfect for something like this.
I’m really hoping for the Beheaded too, since Motion Twin has recently shown a lot of interest in crossovers, and he would be really fun to play as.
Man I never thought about how fun a platform fighter with assists could be but this looks amazing. Definitely picking this up
@9:55 Blanka's bombs are from Street Fighter 6. He can throw out Blanka-chan plush dolls which he can electrify and detonate. Seriously.
I personally got every character correct on where they came from, especially the watcher and downwell guy, and I'm excited to play this when it comes out

For the fact it has rollback and you're able to make custom characters, the potential is high. So yeah, you should definely try it out
If this gets a big base like rivals did, I might have to get this. Playing characters from Undertale and Deltarune sounds hilarious and I need it

So, funny enough Choc, Blanka *does* have bombs kinda in SF6. He places the lil Blanka dolls (a silly lore thing from SFV) and charges them with electricity to be traps.

If I could choose some characters to be added, I’d want everyone from Everyone is Here Vol. 1 and 2 from Dead Cells. If I had to choose 2 it would be the Guide from Terraria and Commando from Risk of Rain!
If you enjoyed using the pizza man assist, then you should definetly check his game Pizza Tower, its way to cool and only 5 days away of releasing lol

This looks fun, I can’t wait to see what characters get added with time! I’m personally hoping for some Hollow Knight characters, or maybe give Bug Fables some well-needed attention. Anything’s possible!
The monkey from Bloons TD, Isaac from Binding Of Isaac, Jacket from Hotline Miami or Zagreus from Hades They're probably my top roster picks. Honorable mentions: Fox from Tunic and Hat Kid from Hat In Time. As for Assists I'd like anyone from the following indie titles would be awesome: Super Meat Boy, Nuclear Throne, Towerfall Ascension, Salt and Sanctuary, Terraria, Limbo, IloMilo, Fall Guys or Freedom Planet. I'm sure I also missed out plenty of cool picks

As for my most wanted character, it would either be: Pomme (my RoA main), Sash Lylac (I'm gonna play Freedom Planet at some point), or Mage from Mago (which I also haven't played yet lol)
And Samus is 6'3", I don't know if that's in or out of the Power Suit though

I've gotten hella into Dead Cells lately, and I'd LOVE to see the player character from it get brought in. Either him or the Terrarian from Terraria
commander video is my favorite character currently, his unique mechanic is his rainbow trail which he gets by landing any hit but loses by getting hit, and what it does is make his side b slide jump-cancellable, and by extension wavedash-cancellable, on hit or whiff, and you can do so much insane stuff with it.
Also my wish character pick is easily v1 from ultrakill, he would be completely unhinged if they implemented all the tech from his original game, he could railcoin you to do like 60% damage in one attack or do a core nuke on someone offstage to kill them at 30%. I love characters with really strong stuff but that you have to learn and practice to be able to do, and v1 would just be perfect for this

For characters I want, I'd like for Fancy Pants Man and Peppino to be upgraded from assists to full characters because they have way more potential than just a simple assist. I do really want Henry Stickmin in.

Welltaro is from Downwell! It’s a super hard roguelike game where you go down a well but you have gun shoes which keep you in the air for a little bit

As a person who also backed the game on Kickstarter (tenta_ in credits :D ), I think the game in its current state is a bit rough due to some performance issues, and 20 bucks at the moment is a bit steep, but I will definitely recommend it after some bugs are patched and more characters are added.

I also received the game key even though my tier ($5) didn’t say they were giving keys on that tier. Maybe being generous or it was an error on their end, but I’d just say that I got this for free.
I paid the cost of it for the sake of giving back to the devs for Smash Flash 2, so when I picture it that way it's $10 for Fraymakers and $10 for Smash Flash
I also normally don't buy early access, but I have faith in these devs and even if they fail to meet their deadlines the workshop support is top tier and could keep the game alive in itself
Fraymakers is extremely cool!!! I'm also an Octodad player, I like to use Lea as my assist cuz I'm a sucker for anything Crosscode related lol

Are we actually in a Platform Fighter renaissance? It feels like not a single one since Smash Ultimate has kept any notoriety past one week after its official release.
I’ve seen so many indie crossover fighters at this point, it’s been bothering that all of these indie characters are strewn across a bunch of different games instead of being together.
I honestly forgot this game was a thing in the making
Also hoping for some Skullgirls or Them's Fighting Herd's reps, either as fighters or assists. Cause those two are some of the biggest names in indie fighting games.
For the base content? Not really. Pretty bare bones, will get a lot better.
For the gameplay? Maybe, it's very smooth.
For the custom content? Yes. This game will have multiple games worth of characters and stages by the end of the year.

Hello, as a huge enjoyer of Wandersong I have come to say that it was indeed upsetting the name of the game wasn't right 😔 but im not offended, but more people shpuld definately play it, i think itd fit on this channel among its other long series, its a game with a great story and characters and lotsa room for Choctopus(TM) humor I think
Also the dog's name is Pizza, Chicory is the name of a different character in the game

im so excited for watcher. i was even more excited when i learned that this was made by smash flash 2 devs, and when i saw silent as an assist.
I second anyone recommending Pizza Tower, great, zany characters and overall style, really fluid and fun controls, genuinely fun and rewarding combat and combo system, weird yet wonderful music, etc.
The hand drawn style feels like it could be a whole new character

Welltaro is from a game called DownWell, and I only know that because his jump is ripped straight from there.
@13:55 The height of Samus depends on your country and producer of choice. Metroid II revealed she was 6'3" and 198lbs, but did not specify whether that was in the armor or out of it. Nintendo of America used these as her out-of-armor measurements in the Super Metroid guide. Meanwhile, Japan received a Metroid manga that depicted a younger Samus as a fairly small girl. Zero Mission and Brawl both seemed to keep Zero Suit Samus relatively close to the size of Armored Samus. Other M followed the manga, out-of-armor Samus in that game is probably only a few inches above 5'. (Other M Samus is so small that she realistically wouldn't be able to operate her armor without breaking her arms and her legs; the joints would be that far off.) Smash 4 tried to follow Other M's much shorter design without actually shrinking her overall model, instead giving her *massive* heels.

the game is kinda marketed around workshop stuff being integral to the experience, they even let you download the dev tools they use to make the game
@@maxlimit9129 To a point I think workshop is fun. If you watch rival's tournaments where they do workshop character it's pretty interesting but the characters need to be approved because otherwise there's a lot that are nonsense and "Ronald McDonald haha funny" only is fun for so long imo
