Westinghouse Dryer Motor Bearing Hack worn 003

Rotating motor 90 degrees on cradle allows the pulley to be parallel to the cradle again. About all the bronze bushing wear was vertical at the top. Rotating the motor as an experiment had the unit starting well since the shaft was using an unused unworn area of the bushing.
This 43 year old motor went under salt water in Katrina in 2005 and was washed in a bathtub then and lubricated with Mobil 1 5W-30 motor oil. Worn bronze bushing causes pulley to be tilted upward. Belt thus rides to edges of pulley and idler pulley.
1976 Westinghouse electric dryer. 43 years old.
