A regret I have is that I was not one of the lucky ones to meet, get to know and become a friend of Cynthia. Sure I loved John's music, but I think John is just a tiny piece of the reasons one would want to be friends to Cynthia. Take away that she was John's wife in the beginning, Julian's Mom and that I live a complete different life than her, and there is still this tremendous reason to have dreamed of being her friend or at least knowing her. After reading everything about her since the beginning, reading her books, watching the interviews, she amazes me. She seems to be such a kind, warm, fun, honest and forgiving lady. I can be certain that if she were your friend, she would always be there for you, always caring and never forgotten. RIP Cynthia, you shined as a jewel.

He tells the cab to stop, goes inside, and asks how much the night-shirt costs. ‘Six pounds,’ he is told. ‘That’s a lot,’ he says, ‘but I think Cyn would like it.'" -Michael Braun "Lennon seemed to have a very traditional love for Cynthia and would call her nightly to check in and talk, in baby talk, to his son Julian. It was exciting to watch. Here was a Beatle, the idol of millions, savoring a few minutes on the phone with his wife." -Art Schreiber (Radio Broadcaster) "I was hysterical. That was the trouble. I was jealous of anyone she had anything to do with. I demanded absolute trust from her, because I wasn't trustworthy myself. I was neurotic, taking all my frustrations out on her. She did leave me once. That was terrible. I couldn't stand being without her." -John I fell in love with Cynthia. I was twelve then and I was looking forward to seeing her again, wondering what arty, studenty clothes she would be wearing. Mendips is right on the main road, which meant that you could see the bus stop if you looked through the upstairs windows, which is why John ran up and down the stairs to his bedroom whenever he thought he heard a bus engine. You could hear whether or not the bus stopped to let passengers on or off. When the bus did indeed deposit Cynthia on the pavement, John shouted ‘Yes!’ and then flung himself downstairs to watch for her coming through the gate. Then he sauntered through the kitchen, as if he didn’t even know she was coming and he was bumping into her in his own garden by sheer good luck! I couldn’t believe his cool. I loved it! Once off-stage they would be abruptly told to 'fuck off.' It was plain that night in the Top Ten that the two girls were now a little scared. At the end of the number, the heavy mob of Lennon and Best hurried down from the dais and sailed in to save them. In his usual blunt manner, John handed out a verbal lashing and for a few moments a nasty scene threatened to develop. 'Why are you butting in?' one of the Germans asked arrogantly, sparring for trouble, which resulted in some pushing and jostling. 'That's my girlfriend you're messing about with,' John snarled at him. The situation immediately began to cool, and the apologies followed. The Germans explained that they thought the girls were simply British tourists looking for fun; what's more, they went on, they themselves were Beatle fans and would never think of trying to upset us. He was insecure and Cynthia was there to pump him up to buttress, sort of, his weak side. She was a wonderful mother who loved John deeply" -Tony Bramwell "After rehearsals or a gig, we would go to a bar in the West End. We would drink and talk. It would be late at night, but Cynthia was always waiting for him, always there to embrace him. She was sweetly sensitive, and I do believe most people have no idea what a central figure she was in terms of keeping him somewhat stable during that hard phase when no one knew if the boys were a passing fad or the real thing. I mean, John was the leader, but he was also scared all the time. People forget what a rock she was for him." -Tony Barrow "I was chatting to Cyn in the morning room as she was putting on her lipstick, and she was making all those faces you make when trying to have luscious lips. I was staring so intently that she gave me the lipstick as a present, although it was a new one. My first lipstick! Then she brushed her long blonde hair over her shoulders, moving it this way and that. She was waiting for John. We heard the wooden gate latch click open and shut. Suddenly, Cyn, after peeping through the window to check, sat down in the armchair and leaned back, spreading her hair over her shoulders, and closed her eyes. I watched her closely, then switched my gaze to John as he walked in from the kitchen. He was mesmerized! He grunted at me and made straight for the model posing in the chair." -Julia Baird “I want my wife to lead a normal life and not be pestered night and day just because she’s married to one of the Beatles. My wife married me, not because I’m a Beatle, but because she loves me. Why should she have to be bothered by publicity?” -John "We cannot go on living like this. I must be able to lead a private life with my family. The fans are wonderful, but I have to think of my wife and child." -John "I like to keep my work and my private life separate, which is why I keep Cynthia out of the picture. I took her to America, because a trip like that comes once in a lifetime, and she deserved it." -John "He often said it was a shame his family had to be pushed into the background. He regretted it, but once the Beatles wagon was rolling, he could not get off when he wanted to. He became exhausted and irritable when he was at home, and angry at his own absence when he wasn't there." -Cynthia (Interview answers John gave about Cynthia and Julian) "I talk to Cyn almost every night." "Yeah, I miss 'em like mad, y'know." "Her name is Cyn and I miss her very very much." Q: Where would you like to go that you haven't gone yet? "Home" "There were definitely two sides to John...his softer side came out in his initital love and tenderness for Cynthia." -Pete Best "It was said I never loved Cyn. That's far from the truth. We were young, bigheaded, and got into a physical relationship too soon. Perhaps if we took things slow, we would have made it. I know we would have made it." -John (1974)
Chantelle Adlington lets face it he fucked up like we stupid boys sometimes do - but in leaving Cynthia he is still the champ of idiots when it comes to women - as a song writer he is the man !
Thank you for collecting these. I wish they were posted everywhere! Too many people are filled with nothing but Yoko's PR rubbish when it comes to John's love for Cynthia. He loved her for a decade! She was his Rock. He was proud of her and protective. He missed her and Julian when he was on tour. He knew she loved the real him, loved him when he had nothing, and that was a security and confidence he needed. Without it, he pretty much fell apart, disintegrated, withered, had a "Lost Decade".
Also Yoko wanted the fame and money attached to him, which Cyn didn't cos she knew him before he was famous. Yoko wanted to be a music star, there's vids on here of her singing with a band. The day he was killed they were coming from the studio and SHE had been recording. Do you think anyone would have given her a music contract if it were not from him? They would not even look at her.
What a beautiful tribute. She never deserved the treatment that she got from John Lennon or the rest of the Beatles for that matter. I'm glad she finally came to her own. Julien, I am proud of you for being by your mom's side.
The. Saddest part- waiting for her man and waiting- and “ little John”( looks soo much like his daddy- another sad moment was when they left her behind in their earlier years ( when she was touring with them)-- the train went on-- ( she said in an interview that it was then that she knew).... ( the worst kind of “ghosting”...😭😔
Just beautiful. What a lovely person. Also nice to see that John and Cyn were really in love. Too bad that they didn't make it. Who knows what could have been? 💛💛💛
She wasn't that great. Long after her divorce from John she tried to cash in on the Lennon name by opening a club in St Martin's Lane, London. Called "Lennon's". The fan's saw through it.
@@wanderer1955 Given the small pittance of a divorce settlement, Lennon’s adultery with Yoko, and the way he treated them after the divorce, I say use the name for all it is worth. She was raising a child on her own.
@@wanderer1955 Haven’t you done any research? She received £100,000 and the house, which she couldn’t afford to keep. I have also read John’s Will that omitted Julian. It is amazing the info you can find if you look and listen.
@@wanderer1955 He was with Cynthia for 5 years before he got her pregnant, and was in love with her, insisted she marry him although she said he didn't have to. His aunt Mimi said she didn't want him to but he insisted, saying doesnt anybody understand I want to, I love her. Five years later, after Yoko had stalked him and unhappy with being just the side chick, inserted herself into Cynthia's life and marital home, Cynthia was the one who wanted to divorce John but he begged her not to, said no, I love you. But by then Cynthia was too spooked by this weirdo stalker druggie Yoko he had slipped and let into his life, so she did divorce him. With Yoko it seemed they were just both druggies and miserable together, spending money like crazy to convince themselves they were happy. Buying huge houses and condos and fur coats and art and farms and cows. Yoko bought an entire condo at the Dakota just for her furs. And her shopping sprees on Fifth Avenue were legendary. But they both looked miserable together. John never looked at Yoko the way he looked at Cynthia. With Yoko he was always just exaggerated kissing for the camera, wearing little matching costumes, very controlled. She kept a tight rein on everything he said to the press. She always had to sit right beside him. She demanded to be 50% of every interview HE did. Never sounded like love at all. More like ball and chain.
@@charwest9449 LOL!! That's absolute nonsense!! He only married her because he got her preggers. If he loved her he woulda married her before that. Why wait till he got her pregnant? It was the done thing in those days. If you got your girlfriend pregnant you married her. Otherwise the shame brought to the families, especially the girls family, was unbearable. Also, after the Beatles stopped touring in 66 she tried to get John to settle down. Pipe and slippers syndrome. Paul was horrified! John settle down?? He was only 26!! So Paul wasn't happy about John being with Cynthia too. Bad influence. Plus roundabout this time John was very very unhappy. He even sang on the White Album, "even hate my rock n roll" I'm lonely wanna die"!!. He was getting fat and lazy and a Heroin addict. I'm not blaming all that on Cynthia, but she was very much part of the problem. And finally, check out the David Wigg ( Beatles) interviews they are great! A double album with each side ( vinyl) devoted to a Beatle. On that album John said ( more or less) "I knew Yoko was the one for me. For a start she WAS me, in drag". John felt he and Yoko were soulmates. He certainly never felt that with Cynthia. Plus if he still loved Cynthia why didn't he rush to Cynthia when Yoko threw him out at the start of his "Long Weekend" episode. Don't forget. The David Wigg interviews.
@@wanderer1955 he couldn't marry the beautiful, intelligent, kind, successful Cynthia from Hoylake before that because he didn't even have a steady job. He was very proud to have secured Cynthia as his girlfriend, and very much enjoyed having a place in her heart, demanded her undivided attention. So when he got her pregnant he said well, it was going to happen anyway, so we'll have to find a way to make it work now. So they lived in his aunt Mimi's house.
@@wanderer1955 Yoko started stalking John in 1966 after he gave her a roll in the hay after a performance where she had the audience cut her clothes off. She began hounding him day after day at work, and he refused to see her, hid from her, etc. occasionally taking pity on her to come out to the lobby to speak to her. Or she would lurk outside hiding between parked cars until he thought the coast was clear and go out to lunch or go go home, and BOOM she would ambush him AHA fancy "running into" you here! Through 1967 and 1968 she persisted, encouraging his drug use by taking them with him, pretending that she was exactly like him, that she WAS him in female form, even going round to his marital home to make her presence known to his wife and try to drive a wedge there. This goes on and on with her trying unsuccessfully to pry him away from his wife, but he still won't leave Cynthia. Why not? Why do you think that was? Finally Yoko relies on heroin, supplied by her good friend and next door neighbor Dan Richter, to get John out on a limb so far from everyone else at last. And she takes him over in his drug addled state, acting like she's already his wife in the marital home in front of Cynthia. And Cynthia begins divorce proceedings. Only then, ugly, drug addled, depressed, and unfit to connect with anyone else, unable to even function without his heroin doses Yoko provides, does John fall completely into Yoko's web. Only then has he been maneuvered into leaving his beautiful shining goddess Cynthia, the girl from Hoylake, behind. He no longer has a choice. And then a great sadness and depression and bitterness overcomes him - highly unlikely if he really was in love with Yoko.
+Laura Humberley Not really, I only noticed that in some of the pic's of her later on in Life. That happens 2 all of us. Its called the, "Drag of growing Old !"
She had a hard life after John. Sad. She probably became a hard drinker is why she aged so fast but oh how young and beautiful she was with John. Even older looking you can see she had a wonderful soul.
Cynthia was far more attractive woman then that controlling over bearing yoko most of John's m8's family could not even understand how to cope with his frustrated rebel persona as well as his own personal behavior of unrequited choices.
She had Julian what a gift that was. John had a life of complexity that it would be impossible for anybody to work through. He did the best he could and had a huge career.
Yoko should have stayed away.. John was a married man with a wife and child FGS.. but no, she ruthlessly chased him.. men can be swayed eventually.. thus ruining Julian's life .. and Cynthia's.
Elisemckenna That’s why I can’t stand her, the campaign she put into place. Jumping in a limo and wedged herself between JL and CL, showing up uninvited to their house. I heard she’d gone after Paul first, I wouldn’t doubt it but at least he was single.
Are you sure it isn't skin coloured briefs? If he was really naked, don't you think the pix would have been leaked to the press and flashed around the world?
Sim.
Cynthia was so obsessed with John Lennon. Cynthia would have stayed married to John if he didn't divorce her. John had to take care of her, because Cynthia was not independent. John wanted a strong woman who worked. Cynthia leaned on men, because she was so needy. Cynthia definitely would have married John, even without having a child with him, because Cynthia was so obsessed with John.
You were friends with John? Cynthia worked she bought John cigarettes in the early days, and she paid Aunt Mimi rent. Did you ever think perhaps John didn’t want her to work after he was making good money. Speculation can go both ways.
@@ladybuggs11 , Golddigger Cynthia never worked. *She was a money leech and an opportunist.* John bought her a huge house to live in for many years, beautiful gardens, servants, the best of food, the most expensive clothes, expensive jewelry, beauty salons, the most expensive and lavish vacations, so it doesn't equal out. Golddigger Cynthia also lived off of John's image. She opened two restaurants in his name, she wrote books to sell for profit about John.
@@laurasmith7976 Why shouldn’t he, they were married. He treated her like garbage in the end with the divorce settlement. She raised Julian on her own. I would use that name for all its worth. Give me a break. I love John’s music , but he was no saint. He had nothing when Cynthia met him, and there was no guarantee he would have made it. Yoko on the other hand is a different story. She met John after he had money. You don’t think she lived a lavish life at the Dakota. The way she treated Julian after John died is abhorrent. John and Julian were just starting to connect when John was killed. Julian had to buy back things his dad bought him or postcards. Personal items that should have been given to him. So spare me how bad Cynthia was, while Yoko sits on an almost billion dollar fortune.
@@ladybuggs11 , You said there was no guarantee musical genius John would have made it, but nobody was as talented as the Beatles. Of course musical genius John would have made it. You actually think Cynthia was supporting him when she was living *free* at his aunt's house, {and John's aunt did an interview about that.} John gave child support to Julian and money to Cynthia her whole life, and all this talk about Julian not getting any money is ridiculous, because John was supporting Julian his whole life, and there were money payments being sent to Julian and golddigger Cynthia. Just a few years back Julian got millions and millions and millions of dollars from John's will, and he can live on that the rest of his life, {considering how lazy Julian is, and he's just like his mother. They're both freeloaders.} John told Cynthia he didn't want any kids, because he was just starting out in the music business, but golddigger Cynthia tricked John and trapped him, and she had a baby anyway, because golddigger Cynthia is very devious, and she was clinging to John for financial support, even though she tried to make herself out to be some sort of good woman. Cynthia was married three other times after John, and in two of those marriages, her husbands said Cynthia was the biggest money leech they ever saw. They couldn't keep up with her demands. Opportunist golddigger Cynthia wrote books about John to make a ton of money for herself, she also sold memorable about John, she opened restaurants in John's name, so she lived off of John her whole life. Yoko was a business woman and she invested John's money making him 10 times the amount of money, so at least Yoko worked.
There was absolutely NOTHING beautiful about YoKo. Ugliest woman I've ever seen. But you're are right about Cynthia boring John to tears. He was very bored with her! Sad, but he was. He needed someone who could match him. Unfortunately, Cynthia did not fulfill that, YoKo did. "SHE'S ME IN DRAG!" John Lennon speaking of YoKo!

Q: Where would you like to go that you haven't gone yet?
"Home"
"There were definitely two sides to John...his softer side came out in his initital love and tenderness for Cynthia." -Pete Best
"It was said I never loved Cyn.
I so loved reading these. REST IN LOVE YOU TWO.
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to post this. Now if you will excuse me, I'll go and have a good cry♥️♥️♥️
Why john left her for yoko I never know cynthia was a much more prettier and classy lady than yoko and still was in her later years
Also Yoko wanted the fame and money attached to him, which Cyn didn't cos she knew him before he was famous. Yoko wanted to be a music star, there's vids on here of her singing with a band. The day he was killed they were coming from the studio and SHE had been recording. Do you think anyone would have given her a music contract if it were not from him? They would not even look at her.
She was beautiful human being
Elegant soul. She loved John through it all.
What a beautiful tribute. She never deserved the treatment that she got from John Lennon or the rest of the Beatles for that matter. I'm glad she finally came to her own. Julien, I am proud of you for being by your mom's side.
Beautiful family and photo's
Cynthia was the best!!! rip 😇
Cynthia's photo's are precious
She was always lovely ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful ❤️
@@ladybuggs11 And you know her "divorce settlement" money, how?🤔
@@wanderer1955 Haven’t you done any research? She received £100,000 and the house, which she couldn’t afford to keep. I have also read John’s Will that omitted Julian. It is amazing the info you can find if you look and listen.
@@ladybuggs11 Relax Julian is a multi millionaire. He's worth about 50 million.
A vision to behold as she transitions to "the sweet hereafter".Thank you for sharing.this legendary love story of magnitude!
Cynthia was so lovely!! She did an awesome job raising her precious son,,Julian.
Lovely lady
Preciosa Mujer Cynthia, sin duda y Madre de Jules🙏❤️🙏❤️🌍🌹🌹🌹
Cynthia e John um casal muito bonito ❤️
its a shame he didn't stay with her
She was a very nice lady very smart and very lovable it's a shame that John didn't want her anymore because her son Julian is a very caring person
John Lennon had a major brain fart when he left Cynthia and their son Julian for Yoko Ono. 😠
John took Yoko over her? There had to be something mentally wrong with him.
He only married Cynthia because she was preggers with his baby. He never actually loved her. He actually loved Yoko.
So genuine, so classy, and so beautiful..❤
Julian's mum is brautiful
Very Beautiful
This is a GORGEOUS instrumental version of If I Fell!
There is a certain melancholy to her in all photos.
+Laura Humberley Not really, I only noticed that in some of the pic's of her later on in Life. That happens 2 all of us. Its called the, "Drag of growing Old !"
RIP thank you x
She had a hard life after John. Sad. She probably became a hard drinker is why she aged so fast but oh how young and beautiful she was with John. Even older looking you can see she had a wonderful soul.
So beautiful so hurt
RIP gorgeous Cynthia.
I see Cynthia and some other ladies of the Beatles, May Pang?, Yoko, Maureen Cox, Pattie Boyd, Jane Asher, but no Linda.
I hate the dentist who have them LSD and Bob Dylan for introducing them to pot!
2:17 is the way it should have stayed.
Yoko should have stayed away.. John was a married man with a wife and child FGS.. but no, she ruthlessly chased him.. men can be swayed eventually.. thus ruining Julian's life .. and Cynthia's.

That’s why I can’t stand her, the campaign she put into place. Jumping in a limo and wedged herself between JL and CL, showing up uninvited to their house. I heard she’d gone after Paul first, I wouldn’t doubt it but at least he was single.
That's a nice photo, Cynthia looking so fine.❤
Cynthia is the type of woman most men search for. ❤
Cynthia, if I fell in love with you . x
Bella mujer. Su mirada triste
Love the shot with Macca wearing only a camera.
Are you sure it isn't skin coloured briefs? If he was really naked, don't you think the pix would have been leaked to the press and flashed around the world?
@@urbaniteurbanizer1612 I think it's edited because I've seen a version of this pic and he's wearing blue shorts
Peace Julian
She is very attractive and beautiful than yoko
Not really :/

One of her husbands after John, Roberto Bassanini
0:54 wtf paul....
Cynthia was obsessed with John? hmmm. How about they both loved each other in that period!
BORING. yoko wasn't just beautiful she was also a fascinating intellectual and daring artist. Cynthia bored him senseless.
"SHE'S ME IN DRAG!" John Lennon speaking of YoKo!
your majesty Yoko is ugly
Yoko was horrible to John. It was Cynthia who truly loved him. Yoko just wanted his money
@@chantelleadlington why did he put up with Yoko I read abt him coming home from Tokyo . YOKO made June take a twenty six hour journey. Don't understand why he put up with her
@@lovelygivan1442 John thought Yoko was him in drag because that's how she reeled him in, pretending to be 'just like him' pretending to BE him, everything the same. What a con. Boring. I had a friend like that once. Everything I liked they liked etc. It was like I was talking to myself in a mirror. What's the point of that lol? At least Cynthia was a real person, not just a mirage.
