Walmart is bad, Mattel making them exclusive bad, but the figures look exactly like what I would have wanted in 1982, hopefully they become more available soon
The person working in the toy section of our Walmart said they're coming but they aren't supposed to put them out until mid-month. But sometimes they put them out early so keep checking for them. Otherwise the scalpers will get them all...
I love the interchangeable parts on these figures. As of 2022, there are more female figures to work with (the vintage 3, a 2002 inspired Evil-Lyn, a mini-comic inspired Teela repaint, She-Ra, and 3 _Divas_ from the MotWWEU line). So far, I've paired up parts from Evil-Lyn 2002 and Stephanie McMahon (who is designed as an Evil-Lyn homage with matching arms). The other feature these ladies have that hasn't been mentioned is open hands that can hold the same weapons as the men. Finally, Evil-Lyn can make good on her promise to steal Skeletor's power and "whammy" him with his own Havoc Staff or Power Sword. Teela can use a Castle Greyskull sword with her shield. (In contrast, I had to *sand off* the pommel of the Accessory Pack C.G. Sword in order to put a sword in the hand of vintage Teela.)
Resellers destroyed stock in my area. Had like 8-10 slots for origins in two stores, and only left around 5 he-man and 6 skeletor figures (both with crazy damage to the cards).
OMG I am gagging! My favorite figures as a kid were He-man, Battle Armor Skeletor, Teela, & Evilyn! This is literally the wave of action figures I've been wanting for since 1990! Thanks for these videos! I live in Mexico at the moment so there not here yet, but I can't wait to add these to my collection 💜💙💜
Price wise these are on point. Great quality, I love these! My only dilemma is....to open or not to open? I've always opened my figures but that retro card takes me back to the 80's so it's a tough choice. I might have to get 2 sets.
Great video! Thank you! That is probably the best Teela head sculpt I have ever seen! And, man, I wish MOTU Classics had shields with handles instead of clips!
That's a beautiful figure. Yeah, after looking at her and Man-at-Arms, I'm getting the rest of these. Was going to stop after getting He-Man, Battle Cat and Skeletor. Dammit, Mattel lol
Yeah I really like em cause their in the same scale, they are updated somewhat, but they still look like the old figures. And I don't care about the missing paint detail. Dan mentions that in about every video on em, and I'm thinking so what! Their retro styled figures.
The knees seem a bit odd, but I'll still buy it....if I can ever find it in the store. I still haven't seen wave 3 of the Masters of the WWE in the store yet. These will be fun to have displayed together. Will we actually see these in the store? Not seeing these in the store takes the fun out of buying them.
They'll be back. If the motu/wwe figures hitting clearance in my neck of the woods and mattel's history with toylines like this... super 7 will be back at it in a year or so. Only a matter of time before the distribution kills collector interest or mattel does their usual losing interest. I can promise you that the only reason mattel is doing these figs is cause they put a clause in the liscense deal with super 7 and that they were jealous super 7 got one of their flagging cash cows to keep making money.
Just curious why? The Classics stuff Super7 put out was great. And honestly, these lines are so different and cater to different markets that they really could have kept both going at the same time. Personally, I would have lovedfor them to have completed the William Stout figures.
@@kieranshea6428 Why.... Because I have bought some and they are pure crap, plastic, coloring, mold... Everything. The only thing I did like was...yes...William Stouts inspired movie figures. Everything else...total crap, Super7 just didn't understand MOTU fans AT ALL!!!!
Aleks0709 Aleks0709 You’re making a pretty big assumption there, namely that only folks who feel the way you do are real MOTU fans. I love both the Mattel and Super7 figures and I’ve been a MOTU fan since the very first figures were released in 1982, before the Filmation cartoon ever aired. I was just curious about what you specifically disliked about them. Wasn’t expecting you to claim ownership of the fandom.
@unclassified it's easy to blame Mattel...but I don't look at it that way. If they knew they won't be able to do it, then they shouldn't have even started it, selling it...but i guess buyers weren't important, the only important thing is the money. I ended up losing a lot... and I am not the only one. And they are not better, the new Conon figure is AWFUL!!! Promised one thing and then selling the completely different thing at the end. When you just look at Brian you see dishonest person. But don't want to talk about it anymore. Dan is great and I love him....:) S7 is crap. And that's it! BYE!:)
@@kieranshea6428 not claiming the ownership... 😁 Maybe I said it the wrong way. Ok, to make it more simple... TO ME, figures from Super7 were done in a very bad quality overall. But if you liked them I AM SOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU. I really am! Me, I am not, I was very sad with their figures. They smashed my dream that I will be able to collect them all as they came out because I didn't do that with Mattels classics and now I have to pay a lot of money for them. But ok, no big deal. Happy that at least someone is enjoying them.
I love these but I have zero faith I’ll be able to find them. I wish these were just online to buy. I can’t believe they went exclusive with this right off the bat.
Love your excitement, its contagious. Especially your love for the Masters of the Universe line. This looks like an awesome line to collect. The figures take me back to my childhood, with a modern twist in articulation.
Hey Pixel Dan, I just wanna say that I’m’ a Huge Fan of you! Especially when you used to review the TMNT 2012 toy line, hey can you please put back the drop copter video and the TMNT ooze launching figures video? I miss them!
I'd prefer the art feature a younger Randor as that's likely to be the design we'll get for his figure. I also don't like the royal guard looking like generic medieval guards rather than in Man At Arms style armor.
I got lucky today. I found the whole wave this morning and got one of each. I still haven't found Battlecat and the Skysled with Prince Adam. These go well with the Masters of the WWE.
Failed to take the nice headsculpt and put it on the Filmation Classics version of Teela. Bet it would fit that smaller body, and after paint apps to the flesh parts of the body, that figure would look 100x better.
It's very curious how different Teela's face looks between the original toy and the Origins (and Classics) figures- it's hard to describe, but the face shape is leaner on the latter two compared to the original? It's something I also noticed with Scarlett from the GI Joes Classified line- perhaps it's a difference in sensibilities, although in the case of Teela it's just as likely that it's meant to match how the Filmation Teela looked. In all honesty I wasn't really digging how the face looked in promo shots, but it doesn't look too bad on video. I'll have to see how it looks in person to decide for sure, but it's always great to get some good-looking and (relatively) chunky female figures in a modern toy line for kids!
I haven't been caught up on all the news for this line, but is it safe to say that I can pass on them for now and simply wait for the other retailers to get them next year? Exclusives are a real pain in the butt for international collectors and I'd rather pre-order from BBTS or elsewhere if I can.
When these do open up to retail in other stores besides Walmart, does anyone know if Wave 1 will be sold as well or if they’ll just release whatever wave they’re on at the time?
Awesome Masters of the Universe Origins Teela review ☺ love the new remake of the vintage figures 😍 love the box art and style, and cool they have added some articulation but pity the knee joints looks so clunky and weird, but love the figures and molded plastic details instead of the paint, and awesome they will be in shops to buy, hope there are heaps of them available and here in Australia also lol ☺ I definitely have to get some of these figures, lol the different body sizes between male and female figure bodies in funny lol 😂 wish they would remake the vintage She-Ra figures in a similar style ☺💗
