I'm still confuses. I'm an IT and i'm trying to get the code my my model 8861 but I don't know where I get or find the access code. I'm also using wifi.
if you have the 3PCC version it will come from the provider if they give out codes, a lot of providers don't, if this is the enterprise version only CUCM systems will be able to be configured for this, CME systems are not able to be configured for this.
Then how do I get into my phone? I just have a Cisco phone at my house just to have one, I don’t need to be connected to a service, it’s not for work or anything.
Phones that show Cisco Activation code are Cisco Enterprise phones, they are meant to be installed with a Cisco controller. If you have a Cisco controller it must be running CUCM release 12 or higher in order to use this feature, if this is what you have please see your Cisco IT department to obtain an Activation code from your system. Many people purchase this version phone by mistake trying to get it working with a hosted SIP provider or a generic SIP server. In that case you would want to use a slightly different model phone,the phones meant to be installed on a hosted provider or generic SIP server will have 3PCC or 3PW in the part number on the back of the phone, these phones are also sometimes referred to as a MPP phone (Multiplatform Phone).
@@metrolinedirect I have the 3PCC phone but, it is asking for a activation code. I just have an ATT lanline for VO IP. Will I need to add another type of service in order to make this phone work? 8861
