A cheap way of getting a great V8 sound from an XK8. I have removed the four rear silencers and replaced with straight through pipes at a cost of £398.00
At first I thought you got into the wrong door. I love these but I prefer V8 Vantage which has a modified version of this engine. I actually bought one.
GREAT sound! I'm planning on doing the same to mine. Questions: Have you had any incidents of the "check engine" light going on after doing this? Or any other problems due to the removal of the back four? Thanks so much for sharing!
Sorry for the very late reply as I have not looked at this for a long time. No engine light as it would not effect engine management as all changes are after the exhaust sensors. Get a very slight drone at about 55mph but above and below that speed is good
Technically it should be more powerful as the old system was very restrictive but you don't actually notice it when driving. It is suggested about an extra 5hp

I totally agree!! I believe that’s the stage 2 exhaust system for the XK8 provided by Jaguar

stage 1 is the tailpipes as you see where the rear resonators are deleted. Stage 2 deletes the two silencers over the rear axles. I fitted stage 2

Adamesh straight through pipes. You can buy just the rear section or rear section and over axle pipes

Its the Adamesh system. Basically straight through pipes from the big main silencer. So all four rear ones removed. Cost about £400 to do it yourself

There is slight drone at 1500rpm but is ok before or after that. There is more drone if you change just the rear section than the rear and over axles.

No. each to his own. The original for me was too quite in fact Jaguar realized this when the did the XK replacement and made them sound like mine now
