I am also a 1st year student 😂. It will be too early to comment on this.
But what i know, most of the university take entrance exam and interview. If anyone clears the entrance exam and have some inclination towards psych then he/she will clear and get seats. So admission in Psy.D is not based on past university. Its more on competitive side.

I'm really confused too, i shifted my stream and am about to pursue a masters in clinical psychology....what if my degree goes in vain , what's the point of even continuing my master's if I won't be able to become a clinical psychologist.

Please kindly suggest the way to obtain an RCI license for those with a non-psychology background in their undergraduate studies but who have a Master's in psychology (distance mode). Is there a pathway such as pursuing a PGDCP and thereafter looking for an MA in Clinical Psychology as per NEP (lateral entry)? Please advise.
Additionally, could you kindly provide some information on the eligibility for a license for those pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at medical or non-medical colleges? If they are eligible, could you please provide a list of such colleges?

Officially called Vocational counselor , once you have completed ADCGC. RCI gives you a certificate as Vocational counselor

No child psychologist in India right now all psychology courses which are clinical. Only one way to become a certified psychologist. Those who completed clinical psychology in institutions which are recognised by RCI, they are eligible psychologists to do any specific field of psychology.

Sir, as far as I am aware, mphil has been extended for an year by ugc ... it's still running and shall be valid till 2026. Please enlighten me if I am wrong. We are all super confused especially when we didn't have psychology in our graduation and pursuing masters (final year) from IGNOU!!

So im pursuing msc in clinical psychology from nfsu. Can i directly apply for psy D to get mphil degree and then proceeding to study 3rd year and get psy d? What will you recommend would be the best for me?
If you are going directly for PsyD then you have to complete 4 years then you get your PsyD degree. But if you go for MPsy first then you can take admission directly in 3rd year of PsyD degree through lateral entry.(You have to take admission in PsyD Within 3 years)
BTW can you tell me what is the entire fees of NFSU including hostel

What can be done now? M.Psy structure will take time to be implemented at a large scale to all universities and hospitals. Meanwhile, MPhil will continue. You can choose pursue MPhil in Clinical Psychology which is open for non-psychology students.
We believe that MPhil will stay atleast for this 2024 sessions

They will have to either give Mphil exam or M.Psy exam whichever will be there when you’d be giving the exam. You just need to prepare for the exams.
