Sir i am from humanities background but i am doing bsc clinical psychology so can i become clinical psychologist in future or my degree would be waste?
Hi Aashi
To become a Clinical Psychologist as per the NEP2020, you will have to do Masters in Clinical psychology which will be replacing existing Mphil.
The eligibility is given below
UGC recognized Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) of 4-years duration (8 semesters) (NHEQF 6) in subject Psychology (as a core subject) with a minimum grade average of 60% (or equivalent grade as per UGC norms) and successfully qualifying in the entrance test and interview by a panel assessing proficiency and knowledge.
OR
UGC recognized Masters’ Degree in any branch of Psychology of 2-year duration (4 semesters) (NHEQF 6.5) after obtaining a 3-year duration Bachelor’s Degree with Psychology as one of the major/core subjects in all three years of Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum grade average of 60% (or equivalent grade as per UGC norms) and successfully qualifying in the entrance test and interview by a panel assessing proficiency and knowledge.
OR
UGC recognized Masters’ Degree in any branch of Psychology of 1-year duration (2 semesters) (NHEQF 6.5) after obtaining a 4-year duration Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Psychology, with a minimum grade average of 60% (or equivalent grade as per UGC norms) and successfully qualifying in the entrance test and interview by a panel assessing proficiency and knowledge.
So, your current BSc will not be going to waste. :)
Thank you for the explanation!
Glad it was helpful!

@@theshubhamsinghAmity Kolkata offering this course
@anupriyasapkota8497 Hi Anupriya
Kindly check on RCI site whether the course is RCI accredited or not. It is not accredited as per my understanding and just a normal bachelors.
The course for which RCI has released notification for is different since it can be done only from RCI accredited institutions and then you will get a CRR number as a counselling psychologist
Sir mne is saal cuet diya hai or m humanities background se hu. Agar me ba hons psychology krti hu to kya me clinical psychologist ni ban paungi? Ba hons psychology ka kya scope rahega?
Clinical Psychology krne ke liye existing policy ke hisab se aapko Mphil krni pdegi aur updated ke hisab se MA in Clinical Psychology (jo Mphil ko replace krega and yeh normal MA in Clinical Psychology specialisation se alag hai.)
Aap agar BA Psychology krte ho toh apko masters krni pdegi Counselling Psychologist bnne ke liye ya fir Mphil or MA in Clinical Psychology (naya wala jo Mphil ko replace krega) krna pdega Clinical Psychologist bnne ke liye
BA Psychology ka scope zyada nahi hai kyuki woh krne ke baad aap Psychologist nahi kehlaoge
@@theshubhamsingh what happens to all the students pursuing BA psychology after these new rules?

Hi
I will surely inform about the colleges offering this course and their admission procedure when RCI releases them. Scope is defined by you. According to RCI, after completing this course, you will be eligible to work as a counselling psychologist. So, scope and career opportunities depend upon your skills gained through workshops and internship, knowledge and how you market yourself (social media, word of mouth, referrals, etc.)
Hi Sneha@snehatiwari7196 So, if I got your question right, you can still go on and become a clinical psychologist if you do M.Psy or Psy.D under NEP 2020. The course mentioned in the video is to become a counselling psychologist though the name mentioned is BSc in Clinical Psychology
Omg what a coincidence,

The RCI rules are being challenged in the court and rigjtly so. Psychology was majorly a humanities subject so far. Now this sudden change!
Yes, I understand your frustration. Let's hope that RCI comes up with better amendments. I will update if any notification is released.

Yes
I'm doing ba in psychology currently so I can't be a clinical psychologist now ? 😢
You can become a Clinical Psychologist after doing either MA in Clinical Psychology or Psy.D as per NEP2020.
Please note that this MA in Clinical Psychology is different from currently ongoing MA in Psychology. The MA in Clincal Psychology will be replacing M.phil from which you become a Clinical psychologist as of now. As of now, you can still do Mphil.
Sir it is already Jusly end … I don’t know what to do … I want to take Bsc clinical psychology but now am confused due to colleges … amity Mumbai is telling to go with the basic previous with was going on till now…
Hi Harsh
So, the new course is still in the works. RCI has still not released any updates regarding this course so I would not suggest you to waste your year and enroll with the previous process. After that you can do your normal masters in Psychology to become a Counselling psychologist
@@theshubhamsingh okay thank you so much sir…can I go with Bsc psychology hons.. if I want to become a clinical psychologist?? If not than what do I do now??

Sir I have completed my 12 with PCB so should I persue BA psychology or BSc psychology if I want to become a clinical psychologist.... please reply sir 🙏
You can do either. To become a Clinical Psychologist, Mphil ya isko jo replace krne wala tha new MA in Clinical Psychology krna pdega...agar normal masters krte ho ya fir New BSc in Clinical Psychology(jo RCI naya laane wala hai not the exisiting one) krte ho toh Counselling Psychologist banoge

2. Is Chandigarh University a good choice for doing BA psychology ?

@jigyasagupta2101 1. It depends upon your interest. As the name suggests, BA Applied Psychology will have more practicals so you will be working more towards research, SPSS, data collection, etc. Rest almost all the subjects are same. There is no difference with respect to career opportunities.
2. You can find a short list of colleges from my shorts

Sir actually i have completed my 12th last with one year drop for neet now i wanna pursue bsc clinical psychology but the problem is i dont want to study further after bsc in clinical psychology so cam i work nd get a license after clinical psychology
Hi
If you do the new course that will be introduced by RCI (Bsc in Clinical Psychology), then you will get a CRR number and can practice as a counselling psychologist.
From which college you want to do this degree..?
@@theshubhamsingh but the prblm is in my area we have bsc in clinical psychology for 3 years nd they don't give u licence or anything it will be mandatory to do msc in Delhi or any other areas which is in Maharashtra bocs I am from Maharashtra
Is it for the clinical psychologist who are eligible for that RCI thing? Or normal counselor?
It's not for Clinical Psychologists. It's for Counselling psychologist. If you do this 4 year course now, you will be called a counselling psychologist. That's the discrepancy since the course is called BSc in Clinical Psychology but the outcome is Counselling Psychologist. We are waiting for more clarity from RCI
