I am 55 and haven't colored my hair in a year due to health issues. When I see people I haven't seen in a while..they are SHOCKED at the salt/pepper color. My beautician and other women tell me they LOVE the different shades of color..saying it is gorgeous. I, on the other hand, am having a hard time with it. I thank you for helping me embrace my hair. 💙

Your Hair is gorge. When I first went natural (around 5 years ago) a guy asked my friend if I was her mother. Then another person asked me if I was a child’s grandmother. I had to grow a thick skin quick. But I now try to help others embrace their gray. Now that I don’t give a crap with people think, it makes life easier.

Great video Tennille! You are a beautiful woman. I started going gray at 17, stopped coloring my hair at 40 and now I'm 58 and have never looked back. Maintaining a youthful spirit and keeping your style slightly edgy makes all the difference between being a silver fox or looking matronly. Keep inspiring!

Most women I've seen with salt pepper hair are gorgeous to me. I've always said when my hair comes in, I'm going to embrace it. This year it's coming in and it makes me happy. I'm 42. I just had a hysterectomy and I feel like I'm going through some changes. I'm embracing the changes. You look Gorgeous.

I am so glad I found your blog, IG and YT channels! I started greying from I was about 15 and I'm now 48 with two girls (aged 15 and 11). At 9:07 when you mentioned people seeing white hair being attached to a more mature face, it reminds me of one gentleman who told me years ago that I looked like two persons in one. He said that because when he checked my face, I looked young, but when he looked at my hair, he was viewing an older person. Lol
Many persons have asked me if I coloured my hair (to have the salt-and-pepper look) because they know I am not a senior citizen. Some just look and it's like I can read the question in their heads, but they don't ask.
Like you, I've never dyed my hair and never will! I have embraced my greys from the very first one--which was so long ago, I can hardly remember. I got the trait from my mom and she is my BIGGEST fan. I've always said that if I dye it, I would be sending her to an early grave. Even I don't love my hair like my mother--and I lloooveeee my hair.

The decision to embrace white hair is an emotional journey. Always remember that your hair doesn’t define your beauty. As someone mentioned above, embracing your white hair is mindset. You’ll know when you’re ready. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Thanks for sharing! I just went out today and purchased 2 boxes of perm hair color. After watching I’m going to hold and rethink. I highlighted my hair a few years ago but not due to white hair. Now I’m 44 and want to cover my white hair. My dads side has beautiful white hair. I have embraced it thus far but more and more is coming and thoughts changed. I washed and blow dried it yesterday and loving the texture without flatiron. 💞💞

Love the video! You’re hair is glorious 🥰. I started greying around twenty-something and began coloring my hair. One day in my late 40’s early 50’s I felt the expense was too much and stopped coloring. It was a little rough seeing the grey, but I said I was going to embrace it! So now at 57 I am looking forward to my salt than pepper. I tell women who want to stop coloring their it’s a process and you have to be ready to embrace you emotionally and mentally. I’m so glad I am at this stage where I have accepted the inevitable and loving it! 🥰

I have not thought about dyeing it nor has my family or beautician encouraged it. I'm NOT a Grandma either. 😃 Love watching US stand in our natural hair. Your words are spot on! I am 56 and no longer dye or do keratin. I don’t really have a lot of grays but it has been emotional getting used to my naturally wavy hair. I am used to my hair looking polished and straight and it isn’t easy getting used to a more relaxed look. It helps that my husband loves my wavy hair. I don’t look at white hair negatively. What I think looks very aging is that line of demarcation when the dye starts to grow out. Better to embrace our natural hair color. You figured it out at a young age. You look fabulous.

I have been dying my hair since I was 17 and I'm older than you now. I just started letting it grow out. I'm trying to see the beauty in it. It's hard but like you said.. what choice do I have. I am going through a medical situation that has been long and demanding so my white hair is not a focus. Now I'm coming onto the healed side and I wanna wear my long curly hair out. So, I just do it and try my best to make it and myself look as presentable as possible and it's not so bad. Being dark skinned with jet black hair and pure white hair on my forehead and sprinkles on my sides gives me anxiety but, I ignore it. I dont wanna spend anymore time hurting myself because I'm allergic to dye. I put up with thinned edges and swollen tongue red eyes and skin blisters just to not look old. Lol the things we do to ourselves. I was a model when I was 14 and it was hard to get work bcus I was dark and thick. Then came white hair not a few a whole patch like paint was poured onto my face over night. So yea I had an ugly unhealthy hate for aging and white hair.

I started going grey in my senior year in high school and I immediately started dying and perming my hair with my Mama’s encouragement, she hated her greys. For decades I did this and my hair was in terrible shape. When I entered my 40s I’d had enough and went natural. My hair is healthier than it’s ever been and I love it. I never dyed my hair to hide the grey, I dyed it to make everyone around me feel comfortable.

OM Goodness, I love your hair. My cousin began getting her white hair when she was in high school. By the time she was 20 she was nearly all white and now at 40ish she is totally white. I have always loved her hair. Me on the other hand I did not know I had white hair. I am 69 years old (my picture is from a few months ago). I have been dying my hair non stop since I was 16. Then around 20ish I transitioned into wigs and then in 2014 I discovered Protective styling (crochet braids, twist, curls). About 2 years ago I decided I would no longer color my hair, but I continued with the Protective styles. 2 weeks ago I was shocked when I washed my hair and found it was nearly all white. I took pictures, I played in it I styled it...I was elated that my hair is white. I had just never saw my hair like this. I absolutely love it. I still do braids, but now I buy grey hair. I have visited your channel before, but today I subscribed, I thank you for sharing, you inspired me to stop coloring my hair.

Great video! You're beautiful sis! I'm 38 with slight greys coming. Did the cutting thing a while back...will not color it so I'm getting used to it. At some point I will color but I feel like the culture makes us self-conscious to have our hair this way. Idc no more lol I'll do what I wish and if you like ot then great lol. I'm confident now. I march to my own beat too but as a natural hair mixed BW, it was hard at first going natural with greys especially after wearing weaves in my 20s, early 30s.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago and my naturally curly colored hair was black. My hair fell out in clunks so I became bald very quickly. During the course of a year along with treatments it hit me like a ton of bricks that my hair is going to grow back grey or white. I didn’t feel good about that ☹️ I was about 23 when those white strands came in and I quickly colored it and has been coloring my hair ever since. 🥸 Now that I’m done with treatment my hair is growing back in vary shades of grey and white. A part of me wants to run screaming and get this hair colored but another part of me is curious as to keeping it grey/white just might be fun 😅 I looked up some styles on Pinterest that I liked but I’m just curious to see what my natural hair will do going forward. My hair has many textures the front and back being really soft and the middle of my head more textured.
Yesterday I opened up UA-cam and was drawn to you and your hair right away. Your hair is gorgeous and I love how you’ve always embraced. I always likened grey hair to my grandma in her flower house coat cooking for us kids and being old. That wasn’t a good look for me and when several years back when people were deliberately wearing grey in weaves and braids I didn’t get it 😳🤯
Now that I’m done with treatments and in my glow up phase I think I’m going to embrace my hair which by the way my mom always told me to embrace the grey and that she love my natural hair 🤫 don’t tell her 😂 but I’m going for it YAY!!!!!! For me 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾this should be exciting
