Hey all, I hope this review was helpful to you! If you have a question drop them below and I'll do my best to answer! 😃 My other reviews on the Titan chairs are still relevant also, you can find links in the video description or on my channel. Cheers!
It was very useful. I have been hunting for a chair available to suit my ex-rugby player build. Not an easy search. So, I clicked your link. I also told them I bought it because of your video. Waiting now on delivery. That's all my Christmas money gone though, even with the 'special' offer - yeah, I don't believe that marketing xxx hours left ... rubbish.
I have the same model, same colour, and I've had it for about 6 weeks now. I came from a PU leather office chair, which I'd sink into. The chair is great, but quite firm, so if you are looking for something cushy, this is not the chair. If you're looking for a very supportive seating system, then this is it. Highly adjustable and comfortable, it's a serious chair.
@@zachsowersfilmandphoto6659 I don’t have any experience with that brand, but my chair is still firm. I don’t think you break these chairs in, I think they break you in. I’ve had no mechanical issues with it for the ~year that I’ve had it, and I’m in the chair about 10 hours a day. I spill D s soft drink in it about 6 months ago and I did everything to clean it up, by there is a slight water stain now if you look close. Bummer, but it doesn’t affect the performance of the chair. I’d buy this chair again knowing what I know now.
14:32 min - The instruction manual states that one should not sit on the chair when adjusting the backrest. Additionally, it also mentions that one should not adjust both wheels (on the side of the chair) simultaneously. Congratulations, you've hit the jackpot.
The thing is. You can ad some little soft addition to a firm chair. But you can't make a soft chair harder. Ordered the secret lab titan evo 2022. Came from (6y) dx racer king.
Im still in the 2020 model. I gave up on secret labs. I have severe back and hip issues that extend to my tailbone, (Im in a wheelchair so lets skip all the advice about how to make it better, LOL), and the seat is just too much. If you are looking for the ultimate in strength and rigidity, this IS the chair. It is the most adjustable and useful chair in its range, (though Razer's chairs are coming along VERY nicely and are in the same price point). The lumber support was always TOO much for me. I dont know if the impact or cusioning in the backrest has made the lumbar support more tollerable, But I have spent 300-400 US on various cushions and lumbar support to be able to enjoy it, that being said it is enjoyable once better cushion is added. After adding it all up, an Amia for steelcase actually became the more cost effective value. With seat cushions that are actually useful ranging in price from 100 and upward to 300 dollars. If i replace the cushions twice in the lifetime of the chair, Ive already passed 1k after the upgrades to the Titan. Its a great chair, but if you have back issues... i promise you will need more cushion, and the lumbar could be better.
Wow, I have slight back pain not crazy but enough to invest into an expensive chair. I’m surprised you’ve said this cause I rly believe this chair would be good for me
Thank you for your detailed review. I too have extensive back damage and sciatica. I am in the market for a new chair and this came highly recommended. I am now doubting my research. I'm currently also looking at the Noblechairs Hero TX.
The pillow slipping out is one of my main gripe with this chair. I ended up opening the pillow, extracting the magnet and the silicone bracket, and move it up while making sure the exposed magnet face is facing the chair. Some 30 minutes of mangling the pillow and sewing it back together later, I fixed that issue. Well, my pillow definitely out of warranty now, so if I want to claim warranty later on for the whole chair, I have to buy a new identical pillow i guess.
Thank you for the review. I've used exclusively cheap office/gaming chairs, but am looking for something more comfortable. My problem is every secret labs "1 year review" is they've all had some sort of warranty claim. I have a 3 year old office depot chair that isn't very comfortable, but is still in perfect working condition and completely silent. I hate the idea of paying 4 or 5 times as much to then have to deal with issues that cheaper chairs don't seem to have.
Yeah I understand your view. I think when you move to this price point you might argue your expectations on quality increase and therefore can lead to raising issues you may have shrugged off with something cheaper. If you decide to make the jump you may notice a big overall step up in quality. For the Evo tho, the backrest issue at launch was addressed as a fault, so I think pretty much all early adopters had their backrests warrantied. All i can say if it helps is my 2020 is nearly 5 years old now. and this one is 3, and both are still going strong! Hope that helped! Cheers
Great detailed review of the chair. I just recently bought my own and I love everything about it except how hard the seat is. I'm a little surprised you, and some other reviewers, aren't mentioning that more. It's noticeably harder than any office chair I've ever sat in which is really saying something. For how customizable these chairs are, they really dropped the ball slapping a rock hard base in and not giving the option to swap it with something softer (or just to the level of normal). Return shipping is too expensive so it looks like I'm stuck with it and will have to see if I can adjust. Buyer beware.
Hey Richard, I've got a bunch of videos on the chair on my channel where I talk about the firmness, its definitely true. I've gotten used to it, and find it comfortable. Also - my older 2020 Titan is now on the way to turning 5 years old and the seat base feels just as good as day one, my previous office chairs would have no padding left by this stage! Hope you're adjusting to it! Cheers
Very good improvement but seriously you wouldn't want any stronger magnets near your head. Glad they only put magnets in the removable headrest and not in the chair headrest.
I literally just put this chair together, people say these gaming chairs are terrible for your back but this chair is actually effortlessly making me sit up straight, and I was a chronic nerd necker in my last main gear chair. I'm 6'5 300 lbs btw. If you're a big dawg but like more athletic big type like built like an oak tree type vibe GET THIS CHAIR.
I'm 6'3 260-270 and I have the original Titan (Black and Orange) so it's what 4-5 years old and I love it. I have no issues besides the head pillow only has the elastic strap and it constantly pops off. The base doesn't slip and lower. Occasionally now the chair locks up if I lean back on it, but I play with the lock handle and it frees up. Great chair for us big guys. Normal chairs always fail within a year for me and I constantly have to readjust the height
@ I have the fabric one. I will warn you tho that the seat is VERY firm. So if you’re looking for something super comfortable and soft/squishy I’d just get a high end ergo office chair. I still like the chair and it’s fine for me over long hours but I could def see the firmness of the actual seat cushion bothering some others.
I’ve got the 2020 model of this chair. Probably wouldn’t get a secret lab chair again. The arm rests are cheap PU and crack after a year. I’ve had to replace my arm rests twice. The chair started creaking loudly after 2 years. I disassembled it to lubricate it, just to find that the rubber washer inside the rotation mechanism was completely disintegrated. Had to replace that.

As someone else said, really good review! Thanks for investing the time and effort making it and sharing your experience with Secret Lab chairs!
Just ordered one in all white to match my setup (arctic white). I didn't go with the arm wrest just because i don't use them very often, my arms are on the desk. Went with the fabric instead of the fake leather. Pretty pumped for it. Should be an upgrade over my dxracer I bought over 10 years ago
hello! I bought this same model and color. would you say the memory foam armrests are worth the money? the chair came in and it's way darker then I expected (coming from an all white chair) I really love the memory foam pillow so I think the armrests would be nice too.
Hey, I really like them and haven’t really taken them off my chair since I put them on! I have a whole video on them if you’re interested. So no regrets there, but of course it would be nicer if they were cheaper! Hope that helps!
Hello Ben! I am thinking of buying a 2020 titan chair or 2022 titan evo chair, but I am on a budget. Do you think they age well enough to where I could buy a 1-3 year old used chair and be better off than just buying a new razer iskur or something similar to that?
Hey Vizxual - considering my 2020 Titan is approaching the 4 years old mark now and still looks very good (as seen at end of this video) I think a used chair could do you very well! I guess it depends how the original owner has looked after it. But as all I really do is give my chair an occasional wipe with a wet wipe to clean it I think there’s good odds you can find a decent one out there pretty easily! Hope that helps!
its likely firmer than what you're used to, which they say is a feature. I don't mind it and find it comfortable, my 2020 Titan is approaching 5 years old now and still is going great, and the foam hasn't crushed into nothing like other chairs! I would argue its now 'softer' than a bunch of previous chairs, which would have minimal padding left! Theres a few other secretlab videos on these chairs on my channel i talk about the firmness more there too. Hope that helps your decision! Cheers
After your video more than before I'm convinced I need one especially cause I just touch my chairs backrest and it's soft, so it just gives in. I want that back support! But I'm still torn. I'm 6'3, 160lbs/72kg. Heightwise they'd put me in a XL chair. Do you have an opinion on this or insight?
Hi Kevin, thanks for leaving a comment. I would say the best bet obviously would be to follow their recommendation and don’t think twice about it. However if you’re undecided as I can see you’re only juuust into the XL height range. I personally feel you would likely be OK in a regular also. Think of it this way - I’m guessing that the office chair you’re in right now probably doesn’t have a size guide (or sizes at all) and chances are it would be made as a one size fits all ‘regular’ size. So perhaps see how you feel about your current chair with your decision. I haven’t tried an XL size chair but I did recently sit in a friends small size chair and while yes it was smaller I could still sit it and use it as a chair too - I still found it comfy and I kinda liked the the smaller feel too (little bit more like a race car bucket seat). Hope that helps you somewhat, cheers and good luck with your decision!
I keep hoping they'd come out with a more comfortable seat. Mine is a couple years old and when people use the word 'firm' to describe the cushion in the seat... they should use more descriptive words... like for me the best way to describe the seat is that it's almost as hard as my front step. Of course it's not cement hard... but close enough to it that I had to resort to using a memory foam seat cushion, which IMO is just pathetic after spending so much on this chair. For the price this should be comfortable to sit on for extended periods of time and for me it's not. I can sit for about 30 minutes and my butt starts hurting and I'm not exactly skinny, so I can't blame having no natural cushioning on my butt lol.
Hey M0TI0N MAN, thanks for leaving a comment, always good to read others opinions. For me, I will happily say its firm but supportive, as I do find the chair comfortable to go all day in it. I wouldn't have a problem welcoming some extra padding though for extra comfort - perhaps a top layer in a future generation? I remember back with my older non-secretlab chairs I would sink into them more which was nice for a while... But a little ways down the road the padding would start to compress permanently until I could feel the frame on the seat base which was not comfortable either. It's nice that these chairs haven't done that. With the seat base adjustments Secretlab have made in the Titan Evo, I wonder if they will add some extra softer padding in the next generation, sounds like they are listening to feedback. Cheers!
@@affanqureshi2163, I am loving it. Better than the previous chairs I have owned. The only thing I did was change the casters to roller-blade ones. Excellent investment for your butt and back.
@@Darkmankind do you have pets? I have a cat and I’m concerned about damaging it. Also how comfortable do you think it is? Thanks for replying to me man
@@affanqureshi2163, I don't have any pets. I found it very comfortable. I use it for school and work and rarely have to get up to stretch. No problem; I hope my insight helps. If your cat scratches, you may want to consider the fabric line.
Should receive my 2022 akatsuki chair today...as much as I also wanted the arm rests...$100CAD was just absurd. Literally almost enough to turn me away from the company as a whole. I've also started to see a lot of similar/identical chairs pop up at slightly lower prices. They look like a more generic/cheaper cover but same foam and skeleton design with likely cheaper frame parts. I think we are fooling ourselves thinking this company isnt outsourcing a few parts from generic brands and putting a tax on their name brand. Was humming and hawing about whether i should pull the trigger and my wife just told me to stop looking because she had already ordered it. Thank goodness they didnt have any type of sale/combo deal for the arm rests so i can just pick them up if I ever feel the need. I have no doubt the chair will live up to expectations having sat in a leatherette version briefly; just not sold on the $900 price tag but hearing your success with warranty claims does bolster some confidence in the brand. Side note, also $80 for a non magnetic lumbar pillow (looked at the horde edition) is also pretty insane...
XL version is comfy. Need a friend to help you install. If you are short your feet can hardly touch the floor even if lowered all the way down. Im 169cm by the way.
How long can we expect this Titan EVO chairs to last before foam gets worn out? I have a gt racing chair ,which I know is way cheaper than Titan, but after a year or so the metal on back wears through and was curious how or if the Titan chair owners have this with their chairs?
Hey Steve if you jump to the end of this video I show my older 2020 Titan and what it looks like after 2+ years of use and still looks pretty much new. I posted this video 9 months ago and nothing has changed either both chairs still are looking and feeling good! I understand your situation though, before I got these chairs I used to rotate every year or two through a generic retail-store office chair and if it lasted 2 years by that time the material was peeling and the foam padding was often gone etc. (and that was before covid work-from-home levels of use!) But not with these chairs, the quality difference is huge when you step up to a chair at this level. Hope that helps Steve. Cheers.
@@BenCad ok. thanks for letting me know that. I did see them at the end but just thought I would ask, I may end up just getting a more expensive one, i usually only spend between 100-200 but I am curious about that Titan EVO.
@@SteveB4829 Good luck with your decision! I will say I think I've owned my 2020 Titan long enough now that I think it's worked out cheaper (in the long run) than rotating through the cheaper office chairs. I got an older video (link in description) first 2020 Titan review where I show the chairs I was using prior to this. But yeah stepping up to this quality was a game changer at least for me, cheers!
Who here has tried this Evo and also the old Titan (non-Evo)? I have the original (purchased in 2018) Titan. My main problem with it is that the backrest is so hard that it feels like lying on a plank of wood. There is no way I can ever sit on it without using some kind of cushion against the backrest. The lumbar support on the old Titan is a torture device. What the old Titan needed was for the entire backrest panel to be heavily cushioned. Would you say this was improved on the new Evo chair? It does look like they made the seat cushion softer.
Well as I have both, I'd say overall the chair feels mostly the same. The exception to this is lumbar support has A LOT more adjustability so you can get a lot more variation. If you're personally not enjoying the fit and feel of the Titan, I would be hesitant to say the new chair will fix your concerns. Only other thing to note is Secretlab do sell a backrest pillow made for the chair. Hope that helps, cheers.
I’ve got an Enki X from Razer and got it for a steal pre built when I bought it & always thought this chair is the bees 🐝 knees but then my neighbour said he got a new secret lab he needed to replace after having the older model of the Titan & got an Evo & asked me to sit in it I know which chair I wanna buy ASAP & want & it’s not another Razer.
btw how does warranty works? lets say you have a 5 year warranty and on the 2nd year they gave you a replacement part or something, will that void the warranty?
My 2020 Titan came apart at the seams in the seat, on both sides. I'm currently looking at chairs. I'm going with a different brand. These things are crazy expensive. That type of failure is unacceptable.
Thank you for this! I was on the fence because this is such an insanely expensive chair, and I had heard mostly good, a little bad(but not much), your review helped me pull the trigger, along with your armrest review
I've been looking at reviews of the 2022 edition with them magnetic covers and arm rests but they are so loose from the 2020 version it's like they have cut corners on the mechanism actually inside the arm rest! They rattle like heck to a 2020 and are just the exact same only the tops have a magnets stuck on the corners for these to fit on so something has gone wrong or they have changed something in the armrests that make them so loose and rattley! They are definitely doing a good job at putting me off buying one it's now 3rd on my buy list from 1 just 2 weeks ago!
Thanks for this excellent review! I had the 2020 but moved to a Herman Miller Mirra 2 which is frankly awful for me despite being 3x the price. Looks like i'll be going back to SecretLab!
I bought the Embody Logitech chair, the seat is simply amazing! but the backrest is actually not comfortable for me since I have scoliosis and it sticks in my shoulder, so I sent it back, and now I am thinking of buying yet another secret lab instead, I have an old TITAN model
Great video! thinking of grabbing the software for the hot Aussie summer! how's the chair holding up with the heat? also did you have any recommend cleaning products e.g Bowdens?
Softweaves so much better in the heat, I don’t have air con in my office and it’s so much cooler on hot days compared to older PU leather chairs. Cleaning is pretty easy, a damp cloth will do most of it. Secretlab also have a cleaning kit too but yeah I’ve had some good success with Bowdens ‘Fabra Cadabra’ for a serious stain. Hope that helps! Cheers
@@BenCad glad to hear my black softweave purchase in the right. keen to game during the expected heat ha! thanks for the prompt reply. keep smashing out these vids!
@@brightshadowdenmark thanks for the response! Been hearing alot of mixed reviews for the secretlab but I might just get it. Keep up the good work in the gym brother.
Hey Alex, I recently upgraded my desk to a hardwood standing desk from an Australian company called "Desky" (its on my to do list to make a video about it). If you're not in Australia I would say Omnidesk would a similar brand. I also upgraded my monitor mount to one that's supplied from Desky also, this is their 'Desky Dual Monitor Arm'. You can find similar ones on heaps of websites but they're in the premium range of $200-$300. But no regrets going from a cheap ebay monitor mount to this! Hope that helps Alex, cheers!
Thanks for the review, I hadn't realised just how much you could find to talk about a chair... It seems to have it all, with the exceptions of massage and heat/cool adjustment (jk) although that would be entertaining...!
1 question, how do you clean your chair? I just use mine like a 3 4 month, I clean and take care my chair. but there is slightly brownish in head chair. same model with your.
Hey Wilson, nothing serious. I usually just give the chair a wipe with a damp cloth or an anti-bacterial wet wipe, i do also have Secretlab's own cleaning solution but I'm saving that for the inevitable time I spill something serious on it. I use the headrest pillow at all times, so no issues for me with staining in that area. Hope that helped. Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback - I don’t have a back massager myself to try but I’m imagining something similar to those car-seat ones. If so I think there’s a good chance you could get one on. Secretlab sell an additional lumbar support pillow you put behind your back if you have a look at that it might give you an idea of the space available for a massager etc. Cheers
This is super convenient, current bathurst officeworks chair is painful after 3 years and wanted to see if Secretlabs was worth or if an office chair of equivalent features and quality would be cheaper
I used to do the ‘bi-annual new chair from officeworks’ routine and none are in the same league as this really. 3 years is a good innings for the old faithful Bathurst chair haha back in the day mine only made it to 2 before the leather started to peel. But yeah my 2c is the upgrade to a Secretlab would be HUGE for you if you decide to pull the trigger and should last much, much, much longer! I don’t think you’ll regret it! Thanks for leaving a comment, cheers!
@@BenCad A fellow Aussie who gets it! Yeah the right arm rest has just snapped off and it's had a bit of a peel for a while, leaning towards a fabric Titan XL! I'll make sure to go via your link if I pull the trigger mate
Fabric is a good call too it’s great in summer and makes such a difference on those hot days. But hey cheers for that and good luck with your decision! :)
@@BenCad Ordered through your link, thanks champion. Did research as well and it seems like the only comparable office chairs are way more expensive too. Based on what you've said about build quality and sharing your warranty experiences, as well as the extended WFH use I was convinced. All the best mate!
Hey mate, for general cleaning the chair gets an occasional once over with a wet wipe and thats about it. Easy. Seems to do the job fine! I haven't had any serious cleaning situations on the 2022 Titan, but in my older 2020 Titan I had one serious incident which I successfully cleaned using some car-cleaning interior products. Overall I've been really surprised how well its held up. Hope that helps, cheers
Your lucky with the magnetic cushion every review I've seen to now they don't stick and slide down the seat!. Taking the idea from the Anda seat it's a good concept if it works but it's maybe that material to shiny slippery and that's why it's sliding down all the time? They people are just touching them with a finger and there off racing to the bottom! It definitely makes it more difficult to choose a chair and I'm badly in need of one as have now binned the old one so don't have one atoll in my new house! The Boulies master is still at my top now it's crept up there since seen the state of my friends Titan after a year the PU is definitely Pee U!!
Hi, i bought a titan evo a month ago. Didn't you experiment any pain with the lumbar support? It is killing me and i don't know if its me adapting or the chair
Hi there, sorry to hear its not going too well for you! I did not have any lumbar support pain (still dont, i quite like it). If you turn the lumbar knob to reduce the size you can basically turn it off so to speak. Might be worth a try if you havent already?
Hey Lazsor - I don’t get many zaps from my chair - sometimes in winter some warmer clothes can do it occasionally. Try wearing a different set of clothing if you’re wearing something synthetic. But I reckon it could simply just be that’s it brand new and has some static from the plastic packaging - it might settle all fine in the coming days! Hope that helps. Cheers
Are you still having any noise issues? I just got my chair 3 days ago and hear and feel a slight pop when leaning back and then taking weight off the chair...
Hey Neil - that doesn’t sound like noises I’ve had I don’t really hear much since I swapped backrests. It might be worth checking everything is tight and turning the lumbar dials up and down since it’s so new it might just need to settle. Have you tried adjusting your lumbar support to see if it changes or goes away? You could try ‘turning off/down’ your backrest support and see if that fixes the sound issue. I do sometimes get some occasional soft sounds on mine which secretlab say is normal. But yeah if you saw my noise comparison test in this video - that’s what mines like. Hope that helped somewhat, cheers.
Ok but how do you clean it if it gets dirty? I was considering buying a PU leather chair because its easier to clean. I currently am using a basic faux-leather chair so i'm already used to chairs made with this material... :s
Its pretty easy to clean. Secretlab sell a cleaner themselves, but usually I just give it a wipe over with a wet wipe every now and then, thats pretty much it. For a serious grease stain (of which I've only had one) I had good success getting it out with car-cleaning products. Considering I work from home and have had many breakfasts and lunches at my desk the chair has been surprisingly easy to keep clean. As I have 2 chairs, the Titan Evo (newer model) has a stronger material and a more varied pattern which makes it easier to clean and would be harder to see stains etc. But both have been easy for me. Hope that helps cheers.
ended up getting a second hand one that was practically new for $200AUD best chair ive used so far especially for the price i paid. BUT i dont know if i would pay the full price unless it was within my budget. definitely a great chair though.
Have you noticed any noise from your chair when you turn/rotate? Some other videos have reported so. And it doesn't necessarily come from the lumbar support.
Hey, yeah no changes in my opinion really here! Both my 2020 and 2020 Titans are good chairs and still going strong! Still stand by all this here. Perhaps only exception is just sometimes I have my good and bad days with the magnetic headrest, just my opinion of it when I knock it off the seat sometimes. Overall both my chairs are still doing great at 3 and 5 years old (nearly) for both! Both still look as you see them here. Should I produce another video update? Hope that helps you decide anyway! Cheers
Hello, I love your vids about these chairs! Question; What happens if you try to attach the magnetic pillow on the 2020 chair, will it stick to some extent?
Hi, the default ones are a black padded material with a vinyl cover. They are not hard plastic like cheaper chairs. The grey arm rests here not the default ones, and are an additional cost. These are extra soft and have a soft material cover. The default arm rests are totally fine, if you buy the chair just start with the default ones and you can upgrade later if you wish. Hope that helps!
I just received a Secretlab Titan EVON Titan Leatherette in Black. The box was well padded, instructions were very clear, but what these reviews don’t mention is the formaldehyde like smell from the chair materials. I’m currently airing it out and hopefully the strong nauseating smell will disappear. Overall, the materials are sturdy, good framing, but the lumbar support looks lame. I’ll have to try it out for at least a week or two to determine if it justifies the $580 price tag. Good luck
A few others have left comments mentioning this, It didn’t really bother me but the smell fades away in the first week or so. I associated it with like a new-car smell. Hope the chair goes well for you while you settle in. Cheers
Some of the new sleeping mattresses can also bring such smell. It is advertised by the producer to unpack, let it to unfold for 24-48hrs and smell should go away. In other words it is quite normal in memory foam industry or whatever other material is used in a seat.
At first i wanted to go for the andaseat kaiser 3 but it doesn't ship to my country the netherlands so i looked for this, many people say its too firm and uncomfortable, does it break in after a while or is it really as much of a dealbreaker is people say?
Hey Ben! I have the same exact chair that you have (2022 series) and I'm just wondering, how do you maintain the cleanliness of your Softweave? I had my chair for almost a year now and honestly, I haven't done anything to clean it apart from wiping it down with a sanitary wet wipe. The base of my chair, specially the part that touches the back of my knees is starting to look nasty for me. I'm afraid that I might ruin the quality of the fabric if I use any cleaning agents on it. I'd love to hear your input on this. Thank you!
Hey mate, I mostly use the old wet wipes too. I haven't really had a situation like yours on mine, but for some other stain situations I've had good success with Secretlabs own cleaning kit which might be worth checking out - its probably the safest option.. But I also have found good success using fabric car-cleaning products such as 'Fabracadabra' from Bowdens (Australian company). Hope that helps!
@@BenCad how often do you clean the chair? I'm impressed it looks as new, even if the fabric is white/grey, which should show something after one year. I don't have spill issues, but dirty from using it everyday yes.
I've got arctic white version and it go quite dirty even with regular secretlab fabric wipes cleaning. And I can never find a comfotable lumbar setting. Got the left dial to the lowest and right dial about 3 spins + from 0. So lumbar is in it's lowest position and protruding only a bit. And I had to replace the backrest 2 times because lumbar support was very VERY noisy and 2ndly, it was crooked
Shipping delay? I ordered mine last Friday, got it this Tuesday. Price was fine and the ergonomic firmness and softweave is amazing compared to PU leather and old lumbar chair accessory offerings. Best chair ever.
Hey mate, I can only talk to my experience but if you watched the whole video here I read out a statement from Secretlab - they claim the issue is resolved, however note that the lumbar support system may emit some ‘soft sounds’ as a result of the system working. Since my first-production backrest was replaced the sounds have mostly resolved except for some of those occasional soft sounds. I’ve got a sound example in the video too. Hope that helps. Cheers.
Good review, although I found the seat and back to be hard as a rock like sitting on a wooden chair, Also the lumbar is quite nobly and bumpy and ]t just digs in the the back and annoys me. Also a noticeable bump at the base of the seat hurts my tailbone. Glad to get rid of it, had it for 6 weeks. Is built like a tank though and had no problem with noise. Looking at going back to a new akracing chair, that was always so comfortable.
It sounds like you need an Embody chair! I hear many people with tailbone issues get rid of that issue entirely when they get an Embody. Myself I had to send the embody back, but that was because of my scoliosis, the seat was amazing!
Well I like your video on the chair to all the other's something not right there or here contradictory in all the videos makes buying so much harder! Now them magnetic covers can you you moving them left and right as there shaking so bad on other's and they say they cannot be tightened up which I'm sure they must tighten up if they are a separate component! This is now the only thing I'm worried about so maybe you can settle this argument?
A few people mention the arm rests rattles. Honestly - I use my arm rests to rest my arms on, not use my hands to make them rattle haha. Can’t say I notice any major noises or that it bothers me on mine. I guess firmer/quieterarm rests might feel more premium, but compared to the cheaper-retail-chairs I’ve come from previous these arms are significantly better than anything I’ve had before. I think they’d be similar across most chairs at this level. I hope that helps.
My friends Titan is worse than then PU chairs is on the auction site now for £100 bucks if you want to take a look and see for yourself! It's a year n bit old it's definitely not good material! It's mostly the base whare the legs are rubbing off it being to long and adding pressure to the backs af your legs! I'm looking for a new chair I'm still looking at the Titan aswell but knowing this chair it's been a defect or made cheap because he's no gamer just works from home and its wrecked!
Hey Dougie what generation was the Titan? The newer generations including the 2022 Titan Evo are apparently significantly more durable. But, this is one the main reasons I went with a fabric material! Cheers.
The cushions are far too hard for people with grey hair. A sore butt and back pain are the result of the hard cushions. It is good for my posture as long as I can sit in it.
I've bought one Titan 1 month ago and I am totally... not impressed. Everything squeaks. Lumbar support is a kind of joke. And squeaks. Just not work the price.
Hey sorry to hear it hasn’t worked out for you! Speaking doesn’t sound right, perhaps try contacting them for warranty support - they’ve looked after me well for my warranty claims with them. Cheers
Just seeing these re-purposed racing chairs gives back aches. They are terrible ergonomic and posture support investments. For the price I always recommend office chairs instead.

My other reviews on the Titan chairs are still relevant also, you can find links in the video description or on my channel. Cheers!
It was very useful. I have been hunting for a chair available to suit my ex-rugby player build. Not an easy search. So, I clicked your link. I also told them I bought it because of your video. Appreciate the comment shareb1t, thanks for leaving it and I hope it helped! cheers!
Thanks for leaving a comment Jon and good summary! Definitely a serious chair. 😀
most memory foam objects take a little to soften up
Ive heard the andaseat kaiser 3 is a more comfortable and even competes with the ergo chairs for ergonomics.
I’m happy to hear that it’s firm and not cushy” actually, a firm seat is better for working and posture
Thank you for reviewing the chair after a year of use. Really helped me know that the chair would be durable.
Thanks, glad you found it helpful :)

The instruction manual states that one should not sit on the chair when adjusting the backrest. Additionally, it also mentions that one should not adjust both wheels (on the side of the chair) simultaneously. Congratulations, you've hit the jackpot.
Best review that I've found for this chair, thank you
Glad you found it helpful, thanks for leaving a comment :)
The thing is.
You can ad some little soft addition to a firm chair.
But you can't make a soft chair harder.
Ordered the secret lab titan evo 2022.
Came from (6y) dx racer king.
Good point, thanks for leaving a comment! Cheers
Great video man, really appreciate all the thought that went into the different aspects of the chair (and how it compares to the old one) Good on ya!
Glad to hear it was helpful! Thanks for leaving a comment! Cheers
Very interesting idea! Glad to hear it worked for you
Thank you for the review.
Cheers
Purchased this chair for streaming on Twitch!!! Hoping to be able to sit a bit longer for longer streams.
Hope it all goes well for you Latoya! :)
This review is absolutely perfect, subbed and liked for you guy. love the detail and personal reflection.
Hey Luke thanks for the feedback! Glad you found it helpful! Cheers!
Cheers
Thank you fellow Aussie, purchased straight away thanks for your work mate
Thanks for the feedback and leaving a comment mate, I hope it goes well for you! Cheers
Thank you for the excellent review. You've helped me come to a decision :-)
Hey thanks for leaving a comment and glad it helped you 😀
Very good improvement but seriously you wouldn't want any stronger magnets near your head.
You got the XL version right? Im 6'3" have the evo xl (batman version) and love it
@@iBlueClovr yeah I have the XL version, great chair!
Thanks! I'm a pretty big dude so this sounds promising. Did you get the fabric or leatherette one?
Appreciate the feedback Richard, hope this helped :)
Nice! Hope you like it!
Wow, Ben! Fantastic review. Thank you! Definitely got a sub from me. I’m receiving mine tomorrow, and I’m so excited

@@BenCad thanks a lot will check that video out! Have a great day 😊
Greattt review. Been debating on buying one and have watched like 8 reviews already. Yours was the best review to watch!
Thanks for your feedback Richard, happy to hear you found it helpful! Good luck on your decision.
Any comments on the firmness? I have the 2024 Titan Evo XL and the seat is rock hard. 220lbs 6'
its likely firmer than what you're used to, which they say is a feature. Cheers
You may have answered this, but did you have to return the defective back of the chair? Great review!!
Yeah they took it back and they paid for shipping etc, thanks and hope that helped!
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks for leaving the comment Jeff :)
Cheers!
@@BenCad I'm just kind of mystified as to how anyone is using one of these chairs without feeling back pain from the rock hard backrest...

Hello what size did you get? I’m 6 ft 1 looking to buy one but not sure if I should get regular or XL
Hey you’re looking at the regular normal size here. I’m only a little shorter, I think that size should be totally fine for you. Cheers :)
@@BenCad the seat in 2020 is thicker is it more comftable than 2022 in long hours ?

I've been looking at reviews of the 2022 edition with them magnetic covers and arm rests but they are so loose from the 2020 version it's like they have cut corners on the mechanism actually inside the arm rest! They rattle like heck to a 2020 and are just the exact same only the tops have a magnets stuck on the corners for these to fit on so something has gone wrong or they have changed something in the armrests that make them so loose and rattley! They are definitely doing a good job at putting me off buying one it's now 3rd on my buy list from 1 just 2 weeks ago!

@@BenCad i saw people say that the lumbar support does not work propperly on the titan evo. But don't know if it is tru
Just got my soft weave today and it shocks me every time I get out of it to touch something, do u have a solution for that ?
Hey Lazsor - I don’t get many zaps from my chair - sometimes in winter some warmer clothes can do it occasionally. Try wearing a different set of clothing if you’re wearing something synthetic. But I reckon it could simply just be that’s it brand new and has some static from the plastic packaging - it might settle all fine in the coming days! Hope that helps. Cheers
What brand are the white boxes on your desk?
The speakers? They’re Audioengine A2+ speakers and they’re fantastic! Got a video about them on my channel too if you’re interested. Cheers!
$200 seems like a good score!
Thank you.
Thanks! Hope you found it helpful :)
Thank you! Very helpful.
Thanks for leaving a comment, have a good one!
Have you noticed any noise from your chair when you turn/rotate? Some other videos have reported so. And it doesn't necessarily come from the lumbar support.
Nope! No noises from rotations here, same goes for older 2020 Titan chair. Hope that helps, cheers.
Mine does but it doesn't bother me. I use my chair a lot about 6hrs a day. I figured it was normal.
@@Cooley93 just bought mine. The rotation is silent, but when you switch to tilting, it constantly clicks.
What monitor arm do you use?
Hey Chris it’s a dual monitor arm from a company called Desky. Cheers
So, 2 years later do you still have the same opinion of the chair? Looking at fathers day sales.
Hey mate, not much happens I’m afraid the pillow only works for the Titan Evo. 2020 you gotta stay with the strap. Cheers
I was going to get one but I find a shop sell second hand Hermin Miller
I want NAPA leather version!!!
Fancy! The new-leather smell would be good too!
I have literally never seen a dog that looks so similar to mine!!!!
my english is not the best so if understands well, u have to pay extra money to get these soft arm rest pads? and default ones are just hard plastic?
Hi, the default ones are a black padded material with a vinyl cover. They are not hard plastic like cheaper chairs. The grey arm rests here not the default ones, and are an additional cost. These are extra soft and have a soft material cover. The default arm rests are totally fine, if you buy the chair just start with the default ones and you can upgrade later if you wish. Hope that helps!
@@BenCad thanks for answer
4:28 i seen that picture in another video claiming it was their old chairs... wierd..hmm
You might have watched another one of my videos, I’ve got a couple on my channel about secretlab, definitely my old chairs :)
@@rygor I’m going on week 2 and the smell is still there .
i would buy this if it wasn't for the 6 months or something i would have to wait for it.
If only they shipped to my country
Wait…. You have winter in Australia?
In a wet and raining kind of way - just no snow! (Except mountain tops)
At first i wanted to go for the andaseat kaiser 3 but it doesn't ship to my country the netherlands so i looked for this, many people say its too firm and uncomfortable, does it break in after a while or is it really as much of a dealbreaker is people say?
It does not, will be uncomfortable forever
Brilliant 🥂🥂😃🤙🤙
@@BenCad I'll surely try that suggestion out. Will update you if it works on mine. Thanks a lot!
@@solidmusic15 And how is cleaning going?
Kinda worried bout the depth. Im not tall and race chairs usually are deep
There are 3 different sizes
Great, but anyway to get more than the $30 discount :-))) ??????
Not that I’m aware of myself I’m afraid!
prices way too high and shipping delay issues made me go with another less expensive brand
Shipping delay? I ordered mine last Friday, got it this Tuesday. Price was fine and the ergonomic firmness and softweave is amazing compared to PU leather and old lumbar chair accessory offerings. Best chair ever.
Mine came extremely fast
Does anyone know if the creaking backrests are still a common problem or has it been adressed for the current models?
Cheers.
Hola buenos videos quiero comprarme esta silla cual es tu código de afiliado para indicarlo en al compra para beneficiarte a ti tb . gracias
is the seat base as hard as the 2020? 2020 feels like im sitting on a wood stool. so uncomfortable
It’s a similar feel so if you’re not enjoying the 2020 feel. I’d say you won’t like the 2022.
@@BenCad thanks!
EACH and every one of them uses those scratchy small wheels.
NOT one model would feature a silicon wheel ....why why
