Honestly these days automakers create more of a gadget rather than a car that we’ve come to love. Forget that horrible looking steering wheel, those high-end screens, piano plastic trim makes it less practical, less engaging and un-natural. It’s obviously downgrade. Only handful of automakers (probably Mazda being one of them aside from high end Porsche) still make cars, not gadgets: practical screens (not huge, not diminutive, just the right size), a bit heavy steering wheel, less-spongy suspension and of course physical buttons for A/C. Kudos to Mazda!
You’d think they would get rid of the even number models like A5, A7 since they’re niche cars and carry little brand recognition. The A4 has been with us for years. Why Audi!?
So, it’s larger and longer than the older A4, but has a smaller boot. It’s got touchscreens galore inside, but has no physical buttons, and the S4 variant, has a V6 petrol engine, instead of the previous engine, which was a TDI. I was really hoping that it would look great (which it thankfully does), but I wish they’d have kept some physical buttons for the most widely used features and also would have kept the TDI engine from the previous vehicle, as I continue to be a fan of diesel and their torque figures. Not everything that’s new is better and in this case, I would say this is a somewhat of a downgrade - at least for me. A shame.
Disappointed where Audi is going with exterior and interior, I would rather expect such design at asian producer like KIA or Toyota. That's mater of market orientation the biggest market for VW group is China and unfortunately for me it's the case it's reoriented design more for asian market. Comparing design of A5 F5 or A4 B9 and new A5 PCP that is way step back. Thank you that showed this.
Gonna miss the exquisite styling of the current RS5 Sportback, the new Avant is not too bad but the “sedan” leaves me a bit cold, on first glance it gave me a less interesting Ford Mondeo vibes. Interior is not too bad, should had more physical switches and dials for often used functions and I’m sad the more performance oriented models are leaning on hybrid set up’s, overly and unnecessarily complicated but I’m sure it’ll be fairly rapid and heavier then the outgoing cars.
The A4 B9 looks much better...more aggressive styling, all leather seats, physical buttons & MMI scrolling wheel, and a beautiful steering wheel with intuitive controls.

As a long time Audi driver. I'd sum this up as uninspiring. This package manages to give you none of the advantages of the A5 or A4. Want a coupé - nope, that's gone. Want an estate - certainly.
