Nice to see Andy Martin and Jimmy Pugh together - maybe the best of LA and the best of NY.

Thank you! Glad you like them, I have some in the "vault" from when Bill Watrous, Dave Steinmeyer, Conrad Herwig appeared - I'll get those up eventually.

Pretty awesome music right here. All the solos were superb. The intonation of the entire group and soloists was impeccable. Thank you for sharing this. Such an amazing group of musicians and wonderful piece of music.

Bass and value trombones have a totally different sound than the Tenor, I love the sound of a tenor....

The title of the this tune is "Black Sugar", recorded on Blues At Thirty-Five. Great Video!!! I'm always appreciative of your videos from ETW since I can never seem to go. Thanks!

I'd agree that this isn't the best improv you'd hear from artists such as these. I would like to point out that the art of doodle tonguing is rare. I know for a fact that Andy single tongues everything. I would definitely say that doodle tonguing us a hidden art.

Bass Trombone player in the band plays GREAT!!! The horns out front (bones) not very much music; sounded more like exercises with a swing beat!!

Thanks is it me , or some one else feel or here rather ,, I don't like the sound of the trombones in this setting , makes them sound tinny .right

Sounds like a movie score, the solos were great! 1 crit: the drummer sets the style and he/she didn't help, made it hard to "feel"

Am I the only one that feels like the trombone solos felt abstract and not really that musical?

Because they are white boys. Technically proficient but no soul, no innate use of Blues, no use of rhythm. JJ would have taken that thing apart without trying to use 7,000 notes

    MEDIUM Performance!...Just OK!
The solos really did not wow me for d minor!! (I find this to be an easy bread & butter key, hence I was expecting more melodic and doodle tonguing on these easy changes!!!)
    Please don't hate me....i don't want to be a kill joy....but I expected more.
I think you can nail changes with substituions, but your solos lose heart if you're not careful!
