I just watched another vid featuring someone unboxing these things......do they not need oxygen? There doesn't ever seem to be any perforation of any kind in the packaging.....I noticed it here and in the other vid.....

I'm trying to get the courage to get another jumper. I had one and their short life span is just so unfair. They have such big personalities for a little being 🖤
I saw this girl who keeps rats, her words not mine. Rats also have very short lifespans, and she said that even though they only last the small amount of time that they do. Once you get them, you are giving them their forever home. I still remember that very distinctly because it hits close to my heart.
I also felt that way about my praying mantises. Since in captivity they normally only live up to 1.5 years. But, I know that they’re not gonna last forever and I’m giving them the best life possible. Hope this helps you
It's so unbelievable how jumping spiders are so cute. The way they look, act, move and behave. So different from other spiders.

OMG one of my friends has a walnut hide for her jumper named Hubble and he absolutely LOVES it! She's sent me videos of him sitting in it with his little front peets hanging out and it's the cutest thing. I'm sure your spoods will love them as well!

I've been using walnut hides for my jumpers for a while, and in my experience they tend to build their webs on the outside of it where the magnet is. lol
I was wondering that. It seems like when I try to provide them with a hide, they build next to it >.> Flowers and leaves still seem most preferred.

I just wanted to tell you thank you for your videos over jumping spiders. I have a huge phobia of spiders, but I have held a small tarantula (for about 30 seconds, photo op) and now am leaning towards purchasing a jumping spider. Because I'm starting to find them very cute, something I never thought I would say. But I love watching all your videos and wanted to just simply say thank you.
They are such elegant little creatures! I still cant believe jumping spiders actually exist.
They are all so pretty. I loved the white and tan one. I had a wild one in on my bathroom ceiling for a year, and its the only spider who hasn't triggered my arachnophobia. Normally spiders movements freak me out, but jumping spiders are more crab like in their movements really. They're just precious.
Are these the vegetarian type or are they insectivores?
I have arachnophobia too and i feel the same way about jumping spiders! Unfortunately i live in germany where jumping spiders are really hard to get. Someday i was able to find a reeeeaaally tiny species of them in our backyard and i was shocked and scared first when i saw him (arachnophobia kicked in that moment bc i thought it was a normal spider & even tiny ones scare the Sh** out of me usually) but then i realised that their behaviour is completely different from normal spiders! I could not get over it how adorable he looked at me with his two big eyes and his cute big pedipalps that i immediately captured him and now he is still my first pet spider and i often just sit in front of him looking at him bc he is sooo cute even though he is a really tiny european species that only get to a maximum size of two cm!

Hey, Kat. You're one of the pet tubers that convinced me to get a jumping spider of my own. The problem is, she (probably she) arrived three days ago and still has not eaten. Do you have any tips on getting a jumping spider to eat?
Update: Out of desperation, I killed a fruit fly, placed it in her web, and left it overnight. Today, I found her eating it. So, hooray for small victories! I'm still interested to hear your thoughts, though.

I remember you had some other previous jumping spider pet that had died and you saved. Have you tried preserving insects in resin? You could even them turn them into a pendant or small marble. Just make sure the resin is UV resistant that way it doesn’t turn yellow.
I love those hides I've been meaning to get some ever since I saw them in a jumping spider facebook group! I just ordered a P. Texanus and excited to have a new baby! My 3 jumpers I already a year old and one is like a year half and can't climb the sides of the enclosure anymore so I'm fearing she'll pass soon.

These little ones remind me of Lucas the spider. Which has helped my wife refrain from jumping onto the ceiling at the sight of a spider. She still freaks out but is much better.

I found a tiny jumper (about the size of a fruit fly) at the end of August and I've been feeding it every 2 or 3 days and it hasn't molted! Any idea why?! I also have a fully grown jumper and I'm so excited to watch this tiny guy to grow!

you inspired me to get a jumping spider of my own and i finally found one a couple of weeks ago and she was perfect and right on my window so i brought her in. WELL TODAY I NOTICED SHE WAS BUILDING A NEST!! so just my luck i bring in a pregnant jumping spider! hahahaha I'm nervous for her to lay eggs and for them to hatch so i hope i can handle it haha!

What size Tarantula Crib did you use for these hides? My kids adore jumping spiders, and I think it would be fun to catch one occasionally and let it live with us for a while in one of these enclosures.
I caught and released a tiny jumping spider today. It was the first time I had taken the time to actually just watch the spiders behavior and once I got it safely in a glass unharmed I had to watch it for a couple minutes. I literally cried over how adorable and curious this little arachnid was. I am still wishing I had "kept" the little darling but I dont have the experience to put together a quick enclosure and I didn't want to risk killing the little thing but yea....I feel like I lost a little friend. Lol. Ive never felt this way about a spider before.
