Edit: I made this twice as an intermediate crocheter and it always looks wrong where the head meets the neck. I followed the pattern exactly, so idk if it's user error or not

The head was so easy to follow along and it turned out so adorable, now for the super long body. Your instructions are clear and precise and is super easy to follow with basic crocheting skills
Yay! I’m so glad it was easy to follow. The body does seem like it’s never going to end sometimes but it will be so worth it. You can also change how long you want it to be by adding or taking away rows.
As a beginner that knows some stitches, this was really easy to follow and I now have a little snake friend for my fourth ever project! Thanks!

Made this with skinny glow in the dark yarn and a 2.5 hook. Added a tongue. Turned out pretty cool. Will def reuse pattern with blanket yarn some day.

If you do (2sc, Dec) on R11 the head will be attached so much smoother 😊 I hope this helps

It worked great! I say if you are a beginner and you go by seeing things this isnt really good but she does a great job explaining stuff and my snake turned out pretty good! (I made the tail longer just because I was using thicker yarn)

❤ so cute! I have seen others with oddly shaped heads. My Grandson is so funny. He liked it and said looks quick. He also so another one but thought it looked like candy corn because of the colors.

Don't count the stitch on your hook! Also make sure to use a stitch marker, it's a life saver for me.

I actually just posted one yesterday which may help you.
If you do the DEC. like she saud, try this:
1. pull through the first mesh
2. pull through the second Mesh
3. pull through the First and second loop of the three (Hope you understand my explanation)
4. and then finally through the remaining two loops
That is looking better when you do DEC in yarn where you can See the stiches very well (I Hope you understood my explanation and I could help you
But PS: I tried it, and you can do it like she Said on this pattern (that was better, sorry) but in other patterns with other whool It's really helpful :)

You can always make it shorter lol. They aren't many stitches so that helps too. But I would have probably reacted the same😂
I MADE A CHUNKY SNAKE AND ITS SO FREAKING ADORABLE
I have a question ? If i do an invisible decrease and just take the 2 front stich at the same time and yarn over at the same time , will my pattern be ruined
I love this pattern! It was quite easy to follow along with except sometimes I couldn’t keep up and that problem was easily fixed by just pausing, haha! I made three of these in different colors. One problem I had was that I had to redo most of it because I use safety eyes and I forgot to put them in before I went too far on the tail. :) Wishing a great new year to you.
I have see some people will use high quality glue to secure safety eyes if they forget to put them in. I just dont personally use them so that I can sell to children under the age of 3
@@makaylafriend yep! That makes sense, but I make my plushies for friends and family (also myself) and I know that they can be safe with the eyes in the plushie :)

Great pattern! Making one for my daughter. Just one question, which side of the head is the top? Is it the side with 6 dec or is it the opposite side of the 6 dec? Thanks! 😊🐍
The side with 6 decreases is the top. That way the bottom of the head is flat. It helps it sit on a table. Thank you so much for using my pattern!

is there a difference way to do invisible decrease? I learned a different way which is to get 2 front loops and pull thru idk how to explain it.......but either way it's still an invisible decrease but I understand it better.

my husband stumbled across your toturital , and said it would be a nice stufed toy for our cats, you never said to close off each row, or to chain one after a row, my head looks alright, now im working on the body part
I didn’t say to do that because I don’t do that. I continue crocheting without chaining one. It creates a smoother transition when doing single crochets. It prevents the seam line that is created with the slip stitch and chain one that you are talking about.
How does it hold up if you do additional rows to make it longer? Is it too floppy?
As long as you stuff it as you crochet, it should be ok!

Out of pure curiosity, how long did this take you to make it? 20 minutes? 30 minutes? An hour? I am a beginner crocheter and do not have a lot of time on my hands. Just curious as to how much time I need to set up to make one.
I don’t usually finish many of my projects in one sitting so it’s hard to say. I would guess I finished this project within 1.5 hours.

My only tips would be to make sure you are only doing 10 single crochets on each row and to try to tighten your tension. Otherwise it shouldn’t get bigger. Hope that helps some!

You would just do color changes. If you search how to color change on Amigurumi there should be some tutorials to help you out
I am being honest here. I am not that beginner and I have done a lot of animals in crochet but I didnt understande the first step you were doing. It was very hard for me to catch up even if I paused it. So saddly I could never finish it
The first step is to chain 2. Then you will do 6 single crochets into the first hole. If you’re talking about how to make a slip knot, that is not part of this tutorial and was simply me trying it a new way. I hope this helped explain the first step.
I love this pattern but for some reason my invisible decreases are still visible when it comes to stuffing, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?
You may need to use a smaller hook size. If you already have a looser tension when you crochet, it will be more noticeable on the decreases. I always try to tighten my tension when I decrease. Practice will also improve this if you are still new to crochet. My first stuffed animal project is fun of gaps where I decreased. There are also a few other ways to do invisible decreases that you may like better.

The body is lightly stuffed. You dont want to overstuffed the body or it will be lumpy

That's ok, I have been experimenting with different crochet hook sizes. It's really all based on your yarn and tension.
I wish the head of my snake looked like yours, I wonder if the weight of the yarn makes a difference. It's a cute snake, but mine is so much more round than yours.
I’m not sure. I’ve only made this snake with parfait chunky. You can try removing row 5 and that may help. I’ve made them with and without that row.

Is this happening at the beginning? Make sure to chain two when you start. Then you will crochet into the very first chain.

Sorry, I just saw your comment. Do you mean for stuffing? If you stuff as you crochet, then you won’t have to worry about trying to get it done at the end.
