These women are talking about how they no longer buy authentic wallets, but instead choose to buy really good wallets *esluxy* designer bags they love. They then invest the money they save in other things such as real estate, stocks, etc.
I love all the different beautiful, large, tote bags that you showed us. My favorite was the one you had only in black, that looked like a slouch bag, and it sat nicely on the woman’s shoulder. With a small opening like that and the soft fabric, it makes a large bag so much easier to carry around with you!
I love to hear your thoughts and recommendations for bags that can be utilized as work bags with a laptop. Something that looks more chic and less corporate

I just changed bags yesterday to a black mesh tote trimmed in leather from Rebecca Minkoff. I was saving it for travel but long gone are the days of saving stuff. I am using as my everyday bag. I just lifted the insert out of the & Other bags and put in the current bag. On another note: Your hair looks so cute! Makes your beautiful brown eyes pop!
I never thought much of The Row - until i saw both the Margaux and the park tote in person last week. The leather is so gorgeous. The shape of the bags have that perfect balanced between slouchy yet still structured Now I can’t get them out of my mind 😬
I love balaclava’s been wearing them for years because I didn’t want to mess my hair up from tight hats 😝. Looks great on you Karen, such a cool look. ❤❤❤

I have the chestnut brown Madewell bag and I get stopped in the street by complete strangers asking about it. The model I have has a gorgeous batik fabric lining. I will wear it until it falls apart I love it so much.

The Madewell Transport Tote is one of their best designs. Been updated a bit lately. I have one in brown as well. After watching you today , I decided to take mine out and give a good clean and condition . Everyone should have a good leather tote on their collection.
Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been amzlv buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things.
Love your video! Minimalist bags are something I'm thinking about. Around 2022 minimalist totes became a thing which was great because it put me on the tote trend. I have a similarly large simple leather tote and always get asked about it.

I have used that madewell tote everyday for work for 5 years and I love it! Every once in a while I feel compelled to get another work bag but nothing is as good as that one :) But I do love that brown croc!!

I grew up on the lower east side in the 90s/00s and miss it all the time. Wish I could afford to live there again, loved perusing stores like these as a teen including Trash and Vaudeville (Search and Destroy was another great punky vintage store nearby, wonder if it’s still around, always slightly scared/intimidated me when I was younger but in a fun exciting way).
I love this Flapper hairstyle on you, think it fits your personality very well . And at one point your British accent reminded me so much of Emily Blunt I laughed out loud. See you.
I have the same issue with hats - I have a large head and thick hair. Women’s hats normally don’t fit and men’s hats often don’t have the look I’m going for. Hope you find it!

Not sure if they are still " in", but I still have/use my OG Mulberry Bayswater (large, vintage in black veg tanned leather and solid brass hardware); double handles fit over my shoulder and leather aged beautifully. Only problem is it is quite heavy, esp after adding my laptop and other tech. I travel with my BV cabat as well (also in black), which is much lighter, but the handles are shorter (i.e. handheld or crook of arm carry only). Also have The Row large north south tote - again, beautiful leather that I think will age well. COS has very BV-esque cowboy/moto boots right now. Happy hunting!
I love the shearling jacket Karen. How do you manage the weight? Mens shearlings are super heavy to walk around in. I also love the first minimalist bag you chose, it spoke to me. 😉 Sadly, the 🐊 bags are a no go for me. I’m not anti-fur/ or animal derived products; but crocs suffer a painfully slow death (hours on end) just for the hide to be preserved. They can do way better at eliminating the suffering of the animal in my opinion. Needless to say I’ve taken genuine croc items off my list of “aspirational luxury items”. Anyway, loved your video as always. God Bless❤❤❤
I agree with you about the croc, but I think in this case it’s an embossed leather, meaning that the croc pattern has been added to leather, it’s not actual crocodile.
I did not know about the “harvesting” of crocodiles. Thank you I’m going to do more research. When I look at the Ralph Lauren bag it does look like an embossed process.

It kills me that my mom and my aunts had those bags (mid to late 70s early 80s) you showed, but then over the years branding became the thing. I thought my mom and her sisters were the most stylish ladies. Oh my mom’s oldest sister wore primarily cowboy hats. She was so tall. We would go to downtown Chicago and I watch them shop. Oh… the quality of those leather bags.
I have two of the bags u recommended…..the shoulder Birkin and the Bottega ! Got the former preloved, almost a decade ago. It was called the JPG Birkin (Jean Paul Gaultier) back then. Now my eyes are on the YSL one 😀
