I think that what should always be remembered about the dwarves is that Orzammar is not the orginal capital, it started as a trading post for the surface (which might explain their hyper traditionalist way there, so close to the others), so the shaperate must have moved/copied as much as could from elsewhere and most likely lost much (for real life examples look at Rome post Napoleon, or Vilnuis after pick your invasion; Poles, Swedes, Russian, Nazis, or Soviets). It would explain so much about current dwaven culture, legitimacy from the past which is lost so the now must be maintained, like Edo Japan.

Personally, I suspect that it's Valdasine thaig. It seems more likely to me that the Profane or something like them might occur in other parts of the deep roads than that the staff was moved.
Also, is it me, or does Valdasine sound more Elvish than Dwarvish?

I was thinking the same thing about Valdasine sounding more Elvish.

omg I LOVE the skeleton key theory. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it- if you read Tevinter Nights Solas is hellbent on getting his hands on it and it seems like a pretty important or sentimental item to him. If true though, it's strange that getting the idol would be his plan b

The Kingdom, I really like the skeleton key theory. I think that each Evanuris had their own eluvians, but entrusted a groundskeeper with a skeleton key. Either, after Elgar'nan and Falon'Din spat, or Andruil fade breach, they would have created a neutrality, " Groundskeeper ", to protect the people and texture of their new world.
It would appear that Solas has the skeleton key now ( control of all eluvians ), or is he the Groundskeeper and had it all along? I'm thinking Solas, or Ghilan'nain would have been the owner of the skeleton key???

It would be interesting if the Dwarves had a hive mind that was disrupted after the Titans fell.

If Blood magic can expel the taint maybe, the Tevinter expedition brought claws of Dumat both as 'holy wards' but also to use to sacrifice slaves to expel or keep the taint at bay while they worked.

What do you think about WHO the statue might be? It's obviously not a dwarf shape... Skinny and longer. It has a pointed head piece...like Mythal/Flemeth? Or Andraste? Also that Meredith wears one. That makes it strange that it ended up with her.
And it probably does open an eluvian(s) associated with Mythal.

Doesn't Valta de elope her own brand of magic when she reconnects with the titan? What if all dwarves had magic before they lost contact with the titans?

Oh goodness, I'm going to need to watch this one again, and then a few others about elves and dwarves to keep my information straight. I have probably paid the easy amount of attention to the dwarves, so this was a great video!

it would make more sense that the eluvian from origins leads to a darkspawn infested thaig rather than the black city. this would explain the darkspawn in the area around it as the horde is coming from the wilds near the south not the brecillian forest. i feel like it would b pretty bad from a writing perspective if it did lead to the black city but none of the magisters found it. realistically it would work as a way out of the black city too

A lot of these mysteries seem to be foreshadowing for something much bigger in future installments of the game.

I came from the future when the idol popped up again. 2 idols? That is our explanation right there.

I thought that Tamlen was taken through an Eluvian to Bownammar/Dead Trenches, so maybe that is the tainted Thaig he sees?
Also, I always felt the Idol was Elven in origin. In fact, the Idol looks a lot like Mythal, and the two figures are either her husband and lover, or (my headcanon) two of her Old God children.

My preferred version of what is the idle is the idea it's somehow holding the red lirium back. Can't remember who's theory it is, think gildatharin (pretty sure my dyslexic ass misspelled that)

Huh. That makes that ancient Rock Wraith veeerrrryyy interesting. Demon's as part of the dead or nearly-dead Titan? Dunno about the idol and Eluvians, but the idea that the Primeval Thaig is in a Titan... Huh.

I vaguely remember something about the Evanuris mining lyrium after the wars (with the Titans?) but something happened that made them seal off a mining site. What if this idol was a carving for one of the Evanuris, like Mythal who obtained the knowledge on how to find the Void (a Titan body). It might explain why the idol was of a different material than the Dwarves were used to, a surface metal so to speak. Part of it could have been lyrium, which later corrupted to red lyrium to make it look like what Bartrand found.
The ancient Elves had been mining Titan hearts and blood/lyrium to get more power, yet something scared them enough to seal off their access to it. They bested the Titans, so what scared them away? What if they corrupted the body and/or blood of the titan they were farming, or maybe the titan was already ill/blighted, and it was spreading. Like we see the red lyrium quickly spreading on it's own now on the surface.
In any case, the primeval thaig would not have been the exact location where this happened, because there is no other sign of a catastrophy. But the thaig might have been near the mining site, and functioned as a vault for the corrupted idol after they collapsed the mine. Maybe even as a warning to not venture further...
And yeah, my thought is that what happened with the primeval thaig is mostly erased from the Memories like so many things that have gone wrong for 3 reasons: 1. The elves were involved (many codexes on ancient Elves venturing below the surface, yet nothing in the Memories) 2. The Titans were involved (and for some reason nothing but rumors about them still remain among the Dwarves) 3. The Shaperate erases things that people might want to explore, but really shouldn't because they're dangerous (or they don't fit the current Dwarven lifestyle and thus get... filtered out in favor for stories more suitable for the gullible minds that believe the Memories are unbiased and true)
Can't wait for the next game when we, hopefully, learn what happened to Kal Sharok. Because I feel like that would clear up a lot of these mysteries, seeing as that was the original capital and thus should have more complete (read 'unaltered') Memories..

Thanks for your comment! I keep meaning to make a video for Kal Sharok. You're right - they would have more complete memories... probably... Unless they alter theirs too.
I like your idea of the elves mining lyrium, and then sealing it once it became tainted!

Ok we know of a time when a titan caused trouble beforehand with this said what if IF that titan was killed and proceed to rot in some way turning there blood (lyrium) red or it could be alive and diseased ether way it is now corrupted (on a side not i wonder if the disease assumeing its still alive is the blight yes i am saying darkspawn titan now on a ferther note assuming there is a liveing darkspawn titan us it responsible for the blight being reignited as it hasnt been killed so over time it infects new hosts till a arch demon is woken as the old gods sleeping this titan could be slowly infecting everything and when it finds a old god blight happens also a short question if this was fact how would it effect grey wardens) now assume its dead has its rot effected darkspawn and if so how theory here is the darkspawn dont intract or go near titans so did this rot cause a disease that kills them or the guardians kill them etc why do they fear it and another point the guardians are "pure" so the others /inpure was the warning befor you face the titan for them and us or just them??? so how does this tie in simple the titan dead or alive (infected) is close to this and the guardian how did they come to be is this thaigs former inhabitants became guardians and when it was dead /infected they sealed it in attempt to contain the contamination (red lyrium) if alive are they still fighting or have they gone mad maybe dead but something is off here for now thats what i got as a theory come think comment after all with da4 coming will we get answers or questions asumeing its not 76ed

OtakuOfMe That wasn't actually an intentional Elder Scrolls reference. A skeleton key is a classic mythological concept
