It also sounds like humans predated the Evanuris. Spirits reflect the emotions and concepts from the real world. So humans could conceivably predate even spirits.

I wasn't super thrilled by the secret ending, but I'm willing to see what BioWare decides to do with it. I am, however, really excited that we will finally get to see the executors. There are so many strange things that hint at what's going on ''across the sea''. What i rarely see anyone mention, are a couple of Codex Entries you find during Bellara's last proper story mission. They talk about a strange yellow liquid that absorbs magic, and mutates things it comes into contact with. That substance reminds me of the brine pool in ''The Horror of Hormak'', specifically the yellowy-greenish lyrium crystal above said brine pool. That, along with the fact that the executors smell strongly of the sea, aka brine, makes me think that this strange mutating, devouring substance is linked to them and the mysterious devouring storm. Maybe Ghilan'ain only experimented with that substance and wasn't it's origin. Sorry for going on this tangent, i really got lost in that train of thought
About the secret ending... The art shows executors hovering over the backs of those characters, touching their shoulders, so it doesn't imply just watching or waiting, but influencing. Anyway, the problem isn't that they forced the past characters do stuff or to what degree. The problem is... why? How does this make the past events better? It feels like they made it worse, or at the very least retconned something in just so they could bring in new baddies and leech excitement for the next game.
I dont think we have enough information to know what they mean at the moment. Perhaps for the moment they want us to think that there is a shadowy group somewhere across the Amaranthine Ocean waiting to come to Thedas in waves of ships to conquer. I don't think this is actually what is going on, or will happen. This is obviously theory, so take it with a pinch of salt. I think the "Across the Sea" is not a reference to a geographical location. I think they're talking about the fade. One of the images we see in that secret ending tapestry is the first Tevinter Mages going into the fade using blood magic. The other thing I have noticed, is that in all these events, playing as various protagonists all through Thedas, in each game, we fight a fairly subtle group of demons called "The Forbidden Ones". Gaxkang in Origins. Xebenkeck in DA2. Imshael in Inquisition. and The Formless One in Veilguard. I have always thought they were there because the events occurring at that moment in time had left the veil thin and they are powerful, so they have tried to amass followers. But I think they have been setting this whole thing up since the beginning. The Unbound quest in Origins which leads to the Gaxkang fight, you have to discover letters and meet people in areas of power or significance, and every time you do, there is a sense that this plot point is just kinda thrown into the game. As the entries talk about how "something is wrong in Thedas". Then right before the fight, the Gaxkang says "Eyes are on you warden, from a very high perch". Then saying that while he cannot stop what is to happen, he will not be a footnote in the Warden's encounter. In DA2, the tomes you have to collect to force the Xebenkeck encounter are also in places of great power, either political or religious. You get this quest after you save Keran from a bunch of mages. The main mage has written tomes in order to turn templars into abominations and resurrect the Imperium through the chaos. In DAI, you fight Imshael who has taken over Suledin's Keep. He keeps insisting that he is a choice spirit, and not a demon. THEN we finally come to Veilguard, where you fight the last of the Forbidden Ones, The Formless One, in the Pinnacle of his kind quest. Where he takes the form of a high dragon. The interesting thing in this quest, is that one of the scrying orbs of the executors is in his lair... Finally, going back to the tapestry at the end of Veilguard, the voice says "we have balanced" when that image of the Tevinter mages comes up with two shadowy figures appearing behind them. What does this have to do with the Forbidden Ones...well here is the codex entry for the Forbidden Ones: “The first of the magus cast themselves deep in the Fade in search of answers and power, always power. They found the forbidden ones-Xebenkeck, Imshael, Gaxkang the Unbound, and The Formless One. Many conversations were had and much of the fabric of the world revealed. And thus the magic of blood was born.” I think the Executors are not a group of people in a far away land. They're in Thedas, and they're a faction who have been working to eradicate the influence of the Evenuris, the blight, and dragons, so that they can have their time. I think the spirits of the fade that became the first Elves, were in conflict with these ancient demons. And this is the real weave that has been woven through the whole story. We also get hints that Solas, Gil, and Elg were aware and worried/scared of them. Perhaps they feed on magic, and dreamers, and having the Veil be intact is useful to them, to increase their power. I think it is why the Qunari bind their mages and treat them so severely, since the Qunari are dragon born in this universe, and dragons seem to be a problem for these demons.
This totally may not land. I think we have to wait to next game to see if it works or not. I honestly just took it like setup they usually do in DLCs for the next game.
I don't think they knew how to effectively write the executors into the plot. So in order to gauge some last minute intrest, they probably just had to shoehorn them into past events. Thats why I think people are so adverse to the secret ending. You have Loghain, Corypheus, Meredith, and the Magisters (good writing) colliding with the Executors (bad writing). It all just feels kind of cheap.
Since the fade started to tear open during the ending, if Hawke survived, theoretically they could have used that opportunity to escape and return to Thedas.
@shogun8159 Remember the codex entries about the elves going into euthenara? Those greatest at it required no substance and instead sustatined their bodies by subconciously drawing magic from the fade. Perhaps they clukd do the same while conscious.
I’ve got some major questions. 1) when blighted elven gods die…do they fracture into new spirits like mythal? Now blighted elven gods might actually be destroyed via the corruption and not fracture as Mythal said about the elven god soul she grabbed through her grandson “a piece snatched the jaws of the abyss” So the corrupted elven gods of blight 1-4 may have all fractured but those pieces all got sucked into the abyss. And blight 5 may have been the only elven god fracture she purified and saved. Which leads me to my next question. 2) now that we know the archdemons were each tied to the gods…which elven god was tied to urthemial? Who did Mythal save? And why? 3) speaking of dragons tied…. Did Mythal bind a dragon to her? She can become a dragon… but at Mythals shrine she offers a dragon for summoning (if you don’t have Morrigan be taught to become a dragon) was that her dragon? Is there still an unblighted ancient dragon of mythal’s out there? 4) is Varric dead? Yes his body is dead on the ground… but if solas used your blood to perform blood magic… did he use varrics? It was in a more plentiful supply and closer to the break than rook was. But here’s the thing… solas says “tell varric im sorry” but he knows he’s dead. Is varric a spirit? Or is that a spirit in the fade taking on the appearance of varric like how the spirit took the form of the Devine who dies to help the inquisitor? And the big thing in my books is… Harding holds the dagger…. With gloved hands… and is reconnected to a titan. A tranquil Titan. (That needs to be explained) But Varric was stabbed with the thing. That thing went into his body. What if the dagger took his essence of of him and fully connected him to a Titan… Varric could actually BE a Titan now. 5)the blight being Titan dreams. Can a spirit of faith merge them back with the titans? They do it with seekers. They tranquil them and then let a faith spirit reconnect and solidify the connection so much that it acts like lyrium in templars. Could spirits be the key to healing the titans? There’s lots more but that’s all for now lol

You end up getting Mythal's archdemon killed. Is that why Solas can kill her at the end of the game ?
I have a serious question! 🙋♀️ 9:20 Solas didn’t have a dragon thrall, yet his is still immortal, not dying of old age at least. So if killing the arch demons led to the death of the elven gods then how can Solas tie the Veil to his life force and keep it up for all eternity?
@pearl_lisha896 Well we don't know for sure where Solas went at the end, but two things: The Evanuris were in the Blighted prison, so the Blight would consume them when their archdemons died. Second, Zathrian in Origins had his life force tied to the lycanthropy curse, so I figure Solas probably has the same kind of connection with the Veil. I think he was fully mortal from the start of Inquisition to the end of Veilguard. Or, it may be because he's the last of the First Elves (spirits that made their own bodies).
34:10 Morrigan says the aspect that fell in love with the chieftain moved to a swamp. Andraste didn’t move to a swamp, she died. Flemeth moved to the swamp.
If you romance Bellara and have her be the one that gets captured, you do get a mid credit scene where they clarify that Bellara isn't cured. She just isn't connected to Elgar'nan anymore. She clearly presents as blighted and you can have a conversation where you and her emphasize the time you have left. Like making the best of what time you have left together.😢
Oh, my gosh. I always choose Neve for that mission because I like Bellara more. But I had no idea she was blighted permanently, maybe with the Evanuris gone blight can actually go away permanently?
That depends on the Players worldstate. Kieran should be somewhere safe, only morrigan knows i think where. Flemeth took the Soul of Urthemiel out of Kieran, so Solas should have it when he took Mythals powers from Flemeth. Or its the canon ending. Archdemon killed by the Player Warden without the Ritual with Morrigan. So no Kieran and no Soul. And Sandal..sure somewhere making Enchanments.
I think the executors will be linked to a Lovecraftian twist in the lore & story. The Executors I think will be an old cult of some kind, but they're described as "wrong" rather than evil because the motives of the Gods/ whatever celestial beings they serve won't be something mortal races can moralize. I think the Evanuris were formed in part to counteract the executors/celestial influences. But now that the fade is safe, the Executors don't have the disadvantage of having to account for it. I believe they'll represent something inherently un-magical, more celestial. This is why they were "aligned" with the inquisition, because they shared a goal in protecting the veil. I think it might even tread the uncaring Gods line - where the executors will prepare the world for the coming of their lord/ maybe the maker. This might also be part of why Solas wants the tear down the Veil - though I understand it might contradict the "best" ending.
My Tin Foil Hat(tm) theory is that The Executors are The Geth. Obviously not true, but the descriptions in the books remind me of the geth in the new concept art. Not gonna happen, but seriously imagine it.
I don’t really see what the executors are doing is any different then what Mythal as been doing. It’s like Flemath sending Morrigan with you in DaO. She clearly wanted the OGB to happen but ultimately it’s up to the player One way or another. Some people take the bait but others don’t. Also in my game I got a choice between Dorian and Maevaris for Arcon because I saved Minrathus (I chose Mae)
I totally agree. I was thinking it could also be really small influences. Take with Loghain, it could be as simple as the Executors made sure he found the letters between Cailen & Celene. Loghain ran with it but doesn't mean he could be nudged, It was still his choice.
My Minrathous is fucked. Viper died of blight. Neve is dying of blight. There is no Archon on the throne. And the Threads are the most poweful faction left.
My theory is the other elven gods became vulnerable by their Archdemons being killed, and Solas killed them during his ritual. The last two he had to try to imprison again since their Archdemons were still alive
I have a theory that the Storm is the Blight and is actually the enemy of Those Across the Sea, not their weapon. When the voice mentions "the Storm", "the Sun" and "the Wolf" they are clearly talking about the defeats of Ghilan'nain, Elgar'nan, and Fen'Harel respectively. They are saying these three big threats to their plans have been dealt with. Secondly, Qunari lore has them attempting to become more like dragons in order to survive the Storm, and the Blight is famous for having a hard time infecting dragons, and also being weak to fire. Thirdly, "the Storm that drinks the Sky" in Ghilan'nain dreams may have been metaphor for the Blight taking over the Fade. She never says the Storm is from across the sea, only that the Masked Eyes are. And dreams are more often symbolic than they are literal. And since prophecies can be interpreted in different ways, for all we know her dream was of a future where they went to war with the Executors, using the Blight against them. Which in turn led to the "storm" drinking the "sky" (aka the Blight consuming the Fade) as a consequence. Dooming the world. And finally, Anaris says he wants to "succor IN the Storm". Meaning he isn't trying to escape FROM it but to USE it. I think he wanted a body because he wanted to become blighted like Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan, because he wanted the power to fight Those Across the Sea, which as you speculated might be weak to the Blight. Also, I think the Executors are agents of something greater rather than masterminds themselves. The term Executor usually means a person or institution appointed to carry out the will of a decreased person. I think they might be the "Executors" of the last will of the Titans (or some similar beings) across the sea, and which are connected to the Yellow-Green Lyrium from Horrors of Hormak. Which in turn I believe is related to the Chantry iconography of lyrium being called the "Emerald waters of the Fade". Perhaps the Executors or Those Across the Sea are the Maker.
A thing i wonder is how the Darkspawns will behave in the future. Now they have no more possible Archdemons. Will they gain independence ? Will they rally to the remaining blighted magisters like the Architect? Will they be called by the Titans instead ?
I'm on my second play through, and I feel like I'm picking up more lore tidbits. My first run was just in awe that Anaris showed up. Having done this part again last night, he says he's sixth of the seven? Now I wish I'd screen capped it for being exact but the implication was that there were more of them than we'd thought. I'm thinking Anaris broke away from the Executors and they are looking for him. I also think that time will ease all of the angst around the release. It reminds me of the reception of DA2. Everyone had ten years to imagine what the next game would be and put a lot more into what they were expecting than meeting the game where it is.
If the blight is the anger or negative emotions of the titans, then why did the darkspawn attack the dwarves? Was that the influence of the Evanuris? Was the Evanuris the only reason why the darkspawn attacked the living races and corrupted them. Or was the titan's wrath just simply blind anger lashing out at everyone? If the titans shape the world, are there dwarves on other continents? It was stated that the original elves took form since they were jealous of humans. What's the origin of humans in Thedas?
Maybe the humans over the sea are the devouring storm. Maybe they serve something over there that’s even worse than the blight. Some sort of HP Lovecraft type of cosmic horror.
I think the Caretaker might be an Executor. They're a humanoid, robed figure wearing a many-eyed mask and have a voice that sounds both male and female at the same time.

The biggest piece of the puzzle that is missing is Mythal’s reckoning. She had a plan and was doing something. You’re telling me her big plan was to apologize to Solas and tell me to stop? No if that was true she would have done so when they met after Inquisition. There a piece of the story missing.
The other Evanuris died in the prison because they where tied to the Veil with their liveforce, and because the Archdemons died that made them immortal. They could then die, whats interesting now about that is to prevent the Veil from falling, Solas tied himself to it ( Tricked/Forced/Talked ). But he is not immortal, because like he said he never liked the idea of the inslavment of a dragon. The question is how long can the Veil stay up sustained with that?
I thought the elves were immortal and the creation of the veil made them mortal. So if solas is trapped in the fade then does that mean he's immortal again?
@@reffa2858 Sorry bad wording, english isn't my first language. what i meant is that the evanuris had each an archdemon that made them immortal, even after the Veil was made. but because of the Blights 5 of these 7 Archdemons where killed. So these 5 Evanuris became Mortal and died because the Veil drained them. Hm but the question about Solas is also answerd with that, because the evanuris needed the archdemons to be immortal while still tied to the Veil and in the fade. The same should go for Solas, but he doesnt have an Archdemon.
Yes, this is a concerning plot hole. And brings to mine all the things wrong with this game. Definitely didn’t think things through. I’m going to theorize that Solas is a little different than the rest of the Evanuris. The veil is his creation. Maybe he has a symbiotic relationship with it. As it might sustain him as he sustains it, making him essentially immortal.
Yes. I would like to know how Solas could be alive after thousands of years if he is not immortal and dont tied himself to a dragon like the others. Now that Thedas is softened up so to speak without its elven god protectors if you want to call them that. I wxpect those across the sea to launch an attack. The elven gods atleast held other threats at bay in a way....
I think the idea of the Maker is, and always will be fairly ambiguous. I think the questions that were answered were meant to cast doubt on the Chant of Light, because if they reinforced the Chant, it would make the idea of the Maker fact. And I dont think this Universe does well under a factual notion that there is a God that is looking out for everyone who does good. The things happening in Thedas have always been the physics of the world, or the mathematics of the world. It is cause and effect, which is what we can measure and predict. Even something called "magic" can be studied and predicted and created and experimented on. Therefore, the story of Andraste and the Maker will always be fairly murky as to the truth. We will probably never truly know what it all means, as in, I dont think there will ever be answers about who or what the Maker is, but we will likely be given a better understanding of what the world means. If you really think about it, there are not really a lot of mysteries left anymore in this world. The blight question has been answered, the question of the veil has been answered, the existence of Titans has been answered...I think now the game will focus on cause and effect. What was the cause of the elven wars, who are the Qunari, and the humans, how will the truth about the blights, and the dwarfs, and the veil effect the world as it is today. I think it sets up a very interesting Universe. There will be new power players, and the world will have to adapt to it. Some siding with them, others against.
One thing I appreciate about DATVG is that they let you make the (limited) choices from inquisition in the set up menu. I play on console so NOT having to log onto a pc account to upload my world state was great. For DA5 (and I want a DA5 for sure) I think they should let us make ALL our previous choices, over all the previous games & DLC, like a series recap, before we make our next protagonist in the character creation. Yes it would mean more work but also I think they can still make those little details flow with whatever’s next in the story. I want to know what’s happened with my warden too, if not dead. Last we saw in DAI was that they were researching the calling. Could that “other song” in this changed blight be connected to our DAO warden’s journey?
Solas also doesn’t have to do anything about the Blight-my Solas went out screaming that he is a god like a true Pride demon, and never said anything about lessening the Blight. It was still cured.

What I discovered in The Veilguard was a ton of contradictions to the lore to put it mildly. And it drives me crazy. One thing - didn't they always say in the games that ancient elves before the Evanuris were locked away never met humans? Humans appeared after the veil went up. So why would Mythal suddenly started claiming they wanted bodies just like humans had? Evanuris' name pronunciations are constantly changing in this game. Solas yelling in final scene I am a God, just after he repeatedly says he is not a God. And he uses blood magic. I think I need a therapist. Forgive me for any misspellings and mistakes I need sleep too. :) Also, I don't believe the Evanuris are gone entirely, we haven't seen the last of them. Fractured, weakened maybe but not gone, at least not all.
@@lyannastark3839 The thing about humans arriving in Thedas is... the timeline was never clear. The only source of humans arriving after the elven empire was the Dalish legends. However, yes, this does have some strange lore implications. As for Solas turning to blood magic and calling himself a god... I think it works really well. Those are his character flaws (e.g. hubris) finally catching up with him. He compromises his ideals in favor of his mission

I actually really like the idea of darkspawn becoming a new race of people in Thedas. The blight is the titans' severed dreams/nightmares and could be soothed somehow. The disciples in Awakening and the Architect were some of the most interesting characters to me. The darkspawn "freed" from the song would be feared and hated by everyone, despite them also being a victim of the blight. It would add a lot of tension to the world, especially since there would still be "bad" darkspawn out there, controlled by the blight. Some of the "good" darkspawn would try to integrate, others would become isolationists. Some would seek revenge for being killed and discriminated against. Darkspawn reproduction would also be highly controversial. I would love to play as a darkspawn! Or at least see these topics addressed.
Ok... the mage that gets infected IT DOES NOT GET CURED!... they just lose the red eyes and the most pronouced veins. This is really clear if you romance one of them and get the post ending romance scene... they still got black veins... they are still blighted...

I think the Executors are not a group of people in a far away land. They're in Thedas, and they're a faction who have been working to eradicate the influence of the Evenuris, the blight, and dragons, so that they can have their time. I think the spirits of the fade that became the first Elves, were in conflict with these ancient demons. And this is the real weave that has been woven through the whole story. We also get hints that Solas, Gil, and Elg were aware and worried/scared of them. Perhaps they feed on magic, and dreamers, and having the Veil be intact is useful to them, to increase their power. I think it is why the Qunari bind their mages and treat them so severely, since the Qunari are dragon born in this universe, and dragons seem to be a problem for these demons.
This totally may not land. I think we have to wait to next game to see if it works or not. I honestly just took it like setup they usually do in DLCs for the next game.
I don't think they knew how to effectively write the executors into the plot. So in order to gauge some last minute intrest, they probably just had to shoehorn them into past events.
Thats why I think people are so adverse to the secret ending. You have Loghain, Corypheus, Meredith, and the Magisters (good writing) colliding with the Executors (bad writing). It all just feels kind of cheap.
Since the fade started to tear open during the ending, if Hawke survived, theoretically they could have used that opportunity to escape and return to Thedas.
But what would they have survived on all this time in the fade? It’s a 10 year gap between DAI and DAV.
@shogun8159 Remember the codex entries about the elves going into euthenara? Those greatest at it required no substance and instead sustatined their bodies by subconciously drawing magic from the fade. Perhaps they clukd do the same while conscious.
I’ve got some major questions.
1) when blighted elven gods die…do they fracture into new spirits like mythal?
Now blighted elven gods might actually be destroyed via the corruption and not fracture as Mythal said about the elven god soul she grabbed through her grandson “a piece snatched the jaws of the abyss”
So the corrupted elven gods of blight 1-4 may have all fractured but those pieces all got sucked into the abyss. And blight 5 may have been the only elven god fracture she purified and saved.
Which leads me to my next question.
2) now that we know the archdemons were each tied to the gods…which elven god was tied to urthemial? Who did Mythal save? And why?
3) speaking of dragons tied…. Did Mythal bind a dragon to her? She can become a dragon… but at Mythals shrine she offers a dragon for summoning (if you don’t have Morrigan be taught to become a dragon) was that her dragon? Is there still an unblighted ancient dragon of mythal’s out there?
4) is Varric dead? Yes his body is dead on the ground… but if solas used your blood to perform blood magic… did he use varrics? It was in a more plentiful supply and closer to the break than rook was. But here’s the thing… solas says “tell varric im sorry” but he knows he’s dead. Is varric a spirit? Or is that a spirit in the fade taking on the appearance of varric like how the spirit took the form of the Devine who dies to help the inquisitor? And the big thing in my books is… Harding holds the dagger…. With gloved hands… and is reconnected to a titan. A tranquil Titan. (That needs to be explained) But Varric was stabbed with the thing. That thing went into his body. What if the dagger took his essence of of him and fully connected him to a Titan… Varric could actually BE a Titan now.
5)the blight being Titan dreams. Can a spirit of faith merge them back with the titans? They do it with seekers. They tranquil them and then let a faith spirit reconnect and solidify the connection so much that it acts like lyrium in templars. Could spirits be the key to healing the titans?

Wait wait.
If you use that dragon against Cory's dragon in the fight in DAI, it dies. You end up getting Mythal's archdemon killed. Is that why Solas can kill her at the end of the game ?

Solas didn’t have a dragon thrall, yet his is still immortal, not dying of old age at least. So if killing the arch demons led to the death of the elven gods then how can Solas tie the Veil to his life force and keep it up for all eternity?
@pearl_lisha896 Well we don't know for sure where Solas went at the end, but two things: The Evanuris were in the Blighted prison, so the Blight would consume them when their archdemons died.
Second, Zathrian in Origins had his life force tied to the lycanthropy curse, so I figure Solas probably has the same kind of connection with the Veil.
I think he was fully mortal from the start of Inquisition to the end of Veilguard.
Or, it may be because he's the last of the First Elves (spirits that made their own bodies).
34:10 Morrigan says the aspect that fell in love with the chieftain moved to a swamp. Andraste didn’t move to a swamp, she died. Flemeth moved to the swamp.
If you romance Bellara and have her be the one that gets captured, you do get a mid credit scene where they clarify that Bellara isn't cured. She just isn't connected to Elgar'nan anymore. She clearly presents as blighted and you can have a conversation where you and her emphasize the time you have left. Like making the best of what time you have left together.😢
Oh, my gosh. I always choose Neve for that mission because I like Bellara more. But I had no idea she was blighted permanently, maybe with the Evanuris gone blight can actually go away permanently?
There's no mention of Kieran, Morrigan doesn't mention him. Also what happened to Urthemiel's spirit? Where's Sandal?
That depends on the Players worldstate. Kieran should be somewhere safe, only morrigan knows i think where. Flemeth took the Soul of Urthemiel out of Kieran, so Solas should have it when he took Mythals powers from Flemeth.
Or its the canon ending. Archdemon killed by the Player Warden without the Ritual with Morrigan.
So no Kieran and no Soul.
And Sandal..sure somewhere making Enchanments.
Kieren doesn't exist in every game. Which is a shame, because now he would be old enough to be companion age for a future game.

I think the executors will be linked to a Lovecraftian twist in the lore & story. The Executors I think will be an old cult of some kind, but they're described as "wrong" rather than evil because the motives of the Gods/ whatever celestial beings they serve won't be something mortal races can moralize.
I think the Evanuris were formed in part to counteract the executors/celestial influences. But now that the fade is safe, the Executors don't have the disadvantage of having to account for it.
I believe they'll represent something inherently un-magical, more celestial. This is why they were "aligned" with the inquisition, because they shared a goal in protecting the veil.
I think it might even tread the uncaring Gods line - where the executors will prepare the world for the coming of their lord/ maybe the maker. This might also be part of why Solas wants the tear down the Veil - though I understand it might contradict the "best" ending.
My Tin Foil Hat(tm) theory is that The Executors are The Geth. Obviously not true, but the descriptions in the books remind me of the geth in the new concept art. Not gonna happen, but seriously imagine it.
I don’t really see what the executors are doing is any different then what Mythal as been doing. It’s like Flemath sending Morrigan with you in DaO. She clearly wanted the OGB to happen but ultimately it’s up to the player One way or another. Some people take the bait but others don’t.
Also in my game I got a choice between Dorian and Maevaris for Arcon because I saved Minrathus (I chose Mae)
I totally agree. I was thinking it could also be really small influences. Take with Loghain, it could be as simple as the Executors made sure he found the letters between Cailen & Celene. Loghain ran with it but doesn't mean he could be nudged, It was still his choice.
My Minrathous is fucked. Viper died of blight. Neve is dying of blight. There is no Archon on the throne. And the Threads are the most poweful faction left.

My theory is the other elven gods became vulnerable by their Archdemons being killed, and Solas killed them during his ritual.
The last two he had to try to imprison again since their Archdemons were still alive
I have a theory that the Storm is the Blight and is actually the enemy of Those Across the Sea, not their weapon.
When the voice mentions "the Storm", "the Sun" and "the Wolf" they are clearly talking about the defeats of Ghilan'nain, Elgar'nan, and Fen'Harel respectively. They are saying these three big threats to their plans have been dealt with.
Secondly, Qunari lore has them attempting to become more like dragons in order to survive the Storm, and the Blight is famous for having a hard time infecting dragons, and also being weak to fire.
Thirdly, "the Storm that drinks the Sky" in Ghilan'nain dreams may have been metaphor for the Blight taking over the Fade. She never says the Storm is from across the sea, only that the Masked Eyes are. And dreams are more often symbolic than they are literal. And since prophecies can be interpreted in different ways, for all we know her dream was of a future where they went to war with the Executors, using the Blight against them. Which in turn led to the "storm" drinking the "sky" (aka the Blight consuming the Fade) as a consequence. Dooming the world.
And finally, Anaris says he wants to "succor IN the Storm". Meaning he isn't trying to escape FROM it but to USE it. I think he wanted a body because he wanted to become blighted like Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan, because he wanted the power to fight Those Across the Sea, which as you speculated might be weak to the Blight.
Also, I think the Executors are agents of something greater rather than masterminds themselves. The term Executor usually means a person or institution appointed to carry out the will of a decreased person. I think they might be the "Executors" of the last will of the Titans (or some similar beings) across the sea, and which are connected to the Yellow-Green Lyrium from Horrors of Hormak.
Which in turn I believe is related to the Chantry iconography of lyrium being called the "Emerald waters of the Fade". Perhaps the Executors or Those Across the Sea are the Maker.
A thing i wonder is how the Darkspawns will behave in the future. Now they have no more possible Archdemons. Will they gain independence ? Will they rally to the remaining blighted magisters like the Architect? Will they be called by the Titans instead ?
I'm on my second play through, and I feel like I'm picking up more lore tidbits. My first run was just in awe that Anaris showed up. Having done this part again last night, he says he's sixth of the seven? Now I wish I'd screen capped it for being exact but the implication was that there were more of them than we'd thought. I'm thinking Anaris broke away from the Executors and they are looking for him. I also think that time will ease all of the angst around the release. It reminds me of the reception of DA2. Everyone had ten years to imagine what the next game would be and put a lot more into what they were expecting than meeting the game where it is.
It is cool if the storm quelleds are the half " living" forgotten ones.
If the blight is the anger or negative emotions of the titans, then why did the darkspawn attack the dwarves? Was that the influence of the Evanuris? Was the Evanuris the only reason why the darkspawn attacked the living races and corrupted them. Or was the titan's wrath just simply blind anger lashing out at everyone?
If the titans shape the world, are there dwarves on other continents?
It was stated that the original elves took form since they were jealous of humans. What's the origin of humans in Thedas?
Maybe the humans over the sea are the devouring storm. Maybe they serve something over there that’s even worse than the blight. Some sort of HP Lovecraft type of cosmic horror.
The dwarfs forgot they were a part of the titan and started mining it's blood for themselves.
I think the Caretaker might be an Executor. They're a humanoid, robed figure wearing a many-eyed mask and have a voice that sounds both male and female at the same time.
God I have so many things i want to say. I wish i had friends like these to discuss Veilguard lore with. My friends don't play DA expect for one who can't afford the game yet.

The biggest piece of the puzzle that is missing is Mythal’s reckoning. She had a plan and was doing something. You’re telling me her big plan was to apologize to Solas and tell me to stop? No if that was true she would have done so when they met after Inquisition.

Yeah, she was yelling about the reckoning for 3 games! So where is it? BioWare just scrapped almost everything old and made-up new stuff.
The other Evanuris died in the prison because they where tied to the Veil with their liveforce, and because the Archdemons died that made them immortal. They could then die, whats interesting now about that is to prevent the Veil from falling, Solas tied himself to it ( Tricked/Forced/Talked ). But he is not immortal, because like he said he never liked the idea of the inslavment of a dragon. The question is how long can the Veil stay up sustained with that?
I thought the elves were immortal and the creation of the veil made them mortal. So if solas is trapped in the fade then does that mean he's immortal again?
@@reffa2858 Sorry bad wording, english isn't my first language. what i meant is that the evanuris had each an archdemon that made them immortal, even after the Veil was made. but because of the Blights 5 of these 7 Archdemons where killed. So these 5 Evanuris became Mortal and died because the Veil drained them.
Hm but the question about Solas is also answerd with that, because the evanuris needed the archdemons to be immortal while still tied to the Veil and in the fade. The same should go for Solas, but he doesnt have an Archdemon.

Yes, this is a concerning plot hole. And brings to mine all the things wrong with this game. Definitely didn’t think things through. I’m going to theorize that Solas is a little different than the rest of the Evanuris. The veil is his creation. Maybe he has a symbiotic relationship with it. As it might sustain him as he sustains it, making him essentially immortal.
Yes. I would like to know how Solas could be alive after thousands of years if he is not immortal and dont tied himself to a dragon like the others. Because the ancient elves became mortal after the creation of the Veil. And he himself says he wasnt as powerful as Elgarnan and he isnt a god just a mage

Now that Thedas is softened up so to speak without its elven god protectors if you want to call them that. I wxpect those across the sea to launch an attack. The elven gods atleast held other threats at bay in a way....
I think the idea of the Maker is, and always will be fairly ambiguous. I think the questions that were answered were meant to cast doubt on the Chant of Light, because if they reinforced the Chant, it would make the idea of the Maker fact. And I dont think this Universe does well under a factual notion that there is a God that is looking out for everyone who does good. The things happening in Thedas have always been the physics of the world, or the mathematics of the world. It is cause and effect, which is what we can measure and predict. Even something called "magic" can be studied and predicted and created and experimented on. Therefore, the story of Andraste and the Maker will always be fairly murky as to the truth.
We will probably never truly know what it all means, as in, I dont think there will ever be answers about who or what the Maker is, but we will likely be given a better understanding of what the world means. If you really think about it, there are not really a lot of mysteries left anymore in this world. The blight question has been answered, the question of the veil has been answered, the existence of Titans has been answered...I think now the game will focus on cause and effect. What was the cause of the elven wars, who are the Qunari, and the humans, how will the truth about the blights, and the dwarfs, and the veil effect the world as it is today. I think it sets up a very interesting Universe. There will be new power players, and the world will have to adapt to it. Some siding with them, others against.

One thing I appreciate about DATVG is that they let you make the (limited) choices from inquisition in the set up menu.
I play on console so NOT having to log onto a pc account to upload my world state was great.
For DA5 (and I want a DA5 for sure) I think they should let us make ALL our previous choices, over all the previous games & DLC, like a series recap, before we make our next protagonist in the character creation.
Yes it would mean more work but also I think they can still make those little details flow with whatever’s next in the story.
I want to know what’s happened with my warden too, if not dead. Last we saw in DAI was that they were researching the calling. Could that “other song” in this changed blight be connected to our DAO warden’s journey?

Solas also doesn’t have to do anything about the Blight-my Solas went out screaming that he is a god like a true Pride demon, and never said anything about lessening the Blight. It was still cured.

The Christian God has set down his rules in the bible with it influencing everyone that knows about it. In reality however most people still decide themselves how they react to said influence.
What I discovered in The Veilguard was a ton of contradictions to the lore to put it mildly. And it drives me crazy. One thing - didn't they always say in the games that ancient elves before the Evanuris were locked away never met humans? Humans appeared after the veil went up. So why would Mythal suddenly started claiming they wanted bodies just like humans had? Evanuris' name pronunciations are constantly changing in this game. Solas yelling in final scene I am a God, just after he repeatedly says he is not a God. And he uses blood magic. I think I need a therapist.

Also, I don't believe the Evanuris are gone entirely, we haven't seen the last of them. Fractured, weakened maybe but not gone, at least not all.
@@lyannastark3839 The thing about humans arriving in Thedas is... the timeline was never clear. The only source of humans arriving after the elven empire was the Dalish legends. However, yes, this does have some strange lore implications.
As for Solas turning to blood magic and calling himself a god... I think it works really well. Those are his character flaws (e.g. hubris) finally catching up with him. He compromises his ideals in favor of his mission

I actually really like the idea of darkspawn becoming a new race of people in Thedas. The blight is the titans' severed dreams/nightmares and could be soothed somehow. The disciples in Awakening and the Architect were some of the most interesting characters to me. The darkspawn "freed" from the song would be feared and hated by everyone, despite them also being a victim of the blight. It would add a lot of tension to the world, especially since there would still be "bad" darkspawn out there, controlled by the blight. Some of the "good" darkspawn would try to integrate, others would become isolationists. Some would seek revenge for being killed and discriminated against. Darkspawn reproduction would also be highly controversial. I would love to play as a darkspawn! Or at least see these topics addressed.
Ok... the mage that gets infected IT DOES NOT GET CURED!... they just lose the red eyes and the most pronouced veins. This is really clear if you romance one of them and get the post ending romance scene... they still got black veins... they are still blighted...
My guess is the Architect and his enlightened darkspawn are connected to a certain faction from across the sea.
