Dave you are a gem! Opportunity to visit these lovely places with Logan and your commentary is so interesting. Thumbs up from me an armchair traveller in Ireland.
Well Dave another super walk taking in all those incredible scenes. i absolutely love those Gargoyles and the Upwey wishing well. Those victorian photos were just fabulous from a super historical point of view. Once again i just love the association with Thomas Hardy who incidentally i have done some research on, including where he lived, his works, and also his resting place, along with his wife and family. Thanks again Dave and your wonderful companion Logan.
I always enjoy your walks through Dorset. My mother was born in South Perrott and I lived for a while during the war at North Perrott😂and for another while at the Sun Inn in East Street Beaminster. Father came from Bridport and I still have a cousin living there.😊I have not been down there for several years now, and it is often just for funerals!
We moved away from here to East Sussex two years ago to be near to our younger #on now that we’re getting on in years. We’re still extremely nomesick for this exceptionally beautiful part of Dorset, and we hope to move back before too long.
Thank you Dave and Logan! That was fab! Such beautiful areas and that wishing well is just soooo special! Wow! A pub and tea rooms!!!!😊 That cream tea looked wonderful. We feel like we have been away for a weekend! A real joyous walk!😊
Hello Dave, I don't know Dorset that well having only been there in my youth from Kent at the time and have lived in France for over 50 years. So it's so wonderful to watch your peaceful videos and especially in the world we are living at the moment. Stay happy, stay healthy. God bless you Dave and Logan of course
Absolutely beautiful walk today, Dave and Logan! Your voice is slowly coming back, Dave. Take care and hope you enjoy a lovely summer day. Always a pleasure to see you both showing us the countryside 🦮🌳
Good evening Dave the tea room looked very nice place to visit the stream looked beautiful stunning views you could see for miles so very enjoyable video 😊
Thanks, Dave and Logan, you have me on an audiobook of Thomas Hardy "Far from the Madding Crowd", such is the inspiration from that beautiful part of the world. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers.
Good morning Dave. I really enjoyed that walk and the scenic views. I always remember the name 'Upwey', from my journeys down to Weymouth by train in the 60s. It appeared on timetables as 'Upwey and Broadway', but I don't know where the latter is, but it must have been somewhere in the area.
Great film again as always. I have walked parts of this area myself when I walked the South Dorset Ridgeway. I have also walked along part of the old Abbotsbury Branch Railway line with my Dad. An enjoyable film packed with so much great information, many many thanks.
Morning here / evening there I guess Dave and Logan… this looks like a beautiful walk. What a beautiful old church. They always amaze me … love old churches and the history surrounding them and villages you visit.Just lovely Dave. Thanks so much and you and Logan have a wonderful day☀️
Thanks for sharing, Dave .Upway wishing well is on my list to see .Hoping to come to Dorset in July /August to see the stunning ,Bennett Water Gardens ,so I could see the well on the way back
Still a bit croaky Dave, it's proving hard to shift. Lovely walk through stunning countryside, a pint of Butcombe and to top it off, a cream tea - a "perfect day" as Mr Reed once sang!
I believe that folk used to drink straight from the well many years ago. I seem to remember there being a "Health & Safety" warning notice (on the wall) about drinking the water but I might be wrong about that. The water certainly looks crystal clear.
You may notice that the pillars on one side of the isle are much newer than the other just like osmington ,probably going back to the reformation when they would have been catholic 😊and the churches may have been partly domolished 😒 and later rebuilt .
Dave you are a gem! Opportunity to visit these lovely places with Logan and your commentary is so interesting. Thumbs up from me an armchair traveller in Ireland.

Thank you for yet another superb video full of beauty and interest.

Thank you. One of the joys of exploring Dorset is coming across all those places that have a connection with Thomas Hardy.

Lovely seeing this. We stayed at Warmwell . Thank you.
Not sure about a snooze in the sun, I suspect Logan wants another dollop of cream! Another great video Dave.

Thank you Nigel. I think that the South Dorset Ridgeway is one of my favourite Long Distance Paths.
Another Fabulous Adventure! 🙂

Lovely walk. Beautiful landscape. And that cute chapel.
Thank you. That chapel was in the perfect spot on the side of a hill with stunning views to the South.
wish you could do some walks round the chester area , would love to meet you both keep up excellent walks
Thank you Matthew. Alas, Chester is a little bit away from my "patch"!. Thanks for watching.
I am sure all your wishes came true on this wonderful walk through a very ancient landscape.
Morning here / evening there I guess Dave and Logan… this looks like a beautiful walk. What a beautiful old church. They always amaze me … love old churches and the history surrounding them and villages you visit.Just lovely Dave. Thanks so much and you and Logan have a wonderful day☀️
Thank you Melissa. :)
Another super walk, Dave! The wishing well and its lore was particularly wonderful!
Thanks Nic. I thought that you might like that well!
Have a huge meringue whilst dabbling your feet in the river Wey at the wishing well. Highly recommend.x
I will try that next time I visit!
Great walk in a lovely area - but looked a bit hard work up those hills!
It is such a pretty area around there and the views from the ridge are amazing!
Most enjoyable Dave, thankyou for posting.
Thank you Stephen.
Fantastic walk, Dave. With countryside like this, the overhead power cables should be underground.
Yes indeed. I think they have been trying to "bury" some of the lines not far from Dorchester recently - which helps with the views!
@@DaveFord One day we will meet. You walked past my house in Vernham Dean once. And I was in, didn't see you. Badgeless to this day.
Lovely stuff, thanks Dave 👍
Thank you & indeed thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing, Dave .Upway wishing well is on my list to see .Hoping to come to Dorset in July /August to see the stunning ,Bennett Water Gardens ,so I could see the well on the way back
Certainly worth a visit Ian ...... if only for the cream tea!
Still a bit croaky Dave, it's proving hard to shift. Lovely walk through stunning countryside, a pint of Butcombe and to top it off, a cream tea - a "perfect day" as Mr Reed once sang!
That cream tea just finished it off perfectly!
Hello, Dave. Do you think the water is clear enough to drink? It looks so amazing. Thank you for your walk all the way from China.
I hadn't noticed that Simon .... makes sense.
Scams are as old the hills.
