Just got mine, running AGM, 3 50AH Ionics and a Ghost. Hopefully it works as advertised!

There should be a charging port on the trailer so you can charge going down the road. 🤯👀

My dad and I are Running Odyssey AGM 31 size for are bass boat, but the trouble we are having is are Lowrance Carbon HDS units are using up so much power that after 2hrs of fishing are main battery/cranking that handles the sonars, livewells and the rest of the systems except the trolling motor is dieing off to fast no matter how much we decrease the load going to it! We are trying to get the boat back to tournament performance ready but cannot enter anything with it not maintaining the charge to keep our catch alive, along with being able to keep fishing with our instruments for a derby. We don't have power poles or talons just the ghost trolling motor w/ spot lock. Mr. Upshaw, would the power pole charger still help us without having power poles to keep us on the water to compete??

Seems you should check your cranker. A 31G oydessy shouldn’t be dead after 2 hours. Don’t care what your are running. Maybe wouldn’t last the whole day if you are running multiple 12’s but should last more than 2 hours. I run a 31g AGM with 4 9” graphs with live scope and can go all day

@@koryscullawl8895 hey thanks, I run a 9" HDS Carbon at the console and a 12" at the bow... my cranking battery is the AGM "Odyssey Extreme Series" dual cranking model with a reserve of 205min and no matter what my father or I do we just can't seem to beable to keep fishing while running the sonars along with having both livewells going; just doesn't make any since! The batteries are almost a year to the day of purchase and install and I've routinely gone through and test the battery in question with the battery tester before charging and after to catalog my findings to ensure it is up to working properly. So with what I'm dealing with is why I asked Upshaw my question an concerns. Again thank you Kory for your feedback the reply

@@VINCEFARACI yeah that’s weird. That should be plenty of battery for what you are doing. Something is up. Either the battery isn’t up to par, your charger isn’t working correctly or your alternator isn’t charging. I run a similar AGM and like I mentioned have 4 graphs and lives scope. Just wait till you get forward facing sonar..those things really suck the juice. Do you have a voltmeter? They are cheap..would recommend one of those. If you have a charger on board that charges switch the leads from another battery to rest. Take the voltmeter to the water and test when the motor starts. Good luck! Battery issues suck.

I have always put Optima batteries in my all my new boats. I get an average of 6 years out of them. I never had an issue with charging them after 8-10 hours of fishing. I always start charging my batteries as soon as I pull into wherever I'm staying at. I will never switch to AMG or Lithium Batteries. I stick to what has worked for me, so why change. Optima batteries have never let me down so far. I may change to the Power Pole Battery Charger in the future.

I'm running lead acid... I've got some charging issues though... I'll have to check in to this 👌

I've been running Lithium Pro's batteries for the last 2 years and love them. After a hard day of fishing in the wind they charge up in less than 4 hrs. I went with Lithium Pro's because they were the only company that had the technology to have a starting battery as well as trolling motor batteries. No need to keep carrying around an AGM when lithium was an option.
One other advantage to lithium is they won't develop an memory so if you get home and forget to put them on charge until just before you go out next week, it won't hurt them at all. Over time that would kill a lead acid or AGM battery.
Great company as well, may be a little pricy up front but in the long run will be worth the money.
BTW, love your site and the pro tips

Best Charger ever can’t believe how well it works! I run Lithium Pro 36 volt for troller 31 AGM for cranking! Can’t wait to see what power pole comes out with on their new troller!

Good video. 👍 I’ve got big deep cycle lead interstates on the troll motor and even on the engine. Question: Do you ever have troll motor noise through the charger? Did you put ferrite toroids on the the wire from the charger to the crank battery? Does the charger come with one already?

I run lead acid batteries with a on-board charger, and I carry a battery "booster" pack in case of emergency.

It would be nice if the power pole charge was available because they are backordered all over the place.

I run lead acid interstates. They work every time. Buddy of mine has lithium and they go to sleep on him. So he has to put it back on the trailer and go hit them with 120 volts to wake them up. Lmao we give him a hard time every time it happens. 12 k dollars worth of batteries and he has no power lmao.
