Cheers for that, helped me a ton. For anyone attempting that: Putting the mirror back in requires more force than you might feel comfortable putting on the mirror. It needs to clip back in on three places: The main, large swivel point, and the two motors. The motors might get pushed back (since they are weaker than the force needed to clip the mirror on them), so you need to first move them all the way back with the controls (For the left side mirror: left-most and down; for the right side mirror: right-most and down), then push the mirror on them.
Great video, thanks. We have an issue where the motor now is always running when driving. I think the gear is broken inside it. Is there an easy way to disconnect the motor when you have the cover off? Took out the fuse but the stereo is on the same circuit so that's not an option. Thanks.
From what i understood, your mirror is moving alone while you are driving. The issue could possibly be 2, the motor is faulty, or your pad control is faulty (i mean the panel with the arrows to control the mirror) I think i would try to unplug the panel with the arrows.
We see you take the mirror off and the plastic cover off and then you put it back together. But what was the fix? Sorry, was it just that taking it apart fixed it? Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
Hi, I didn't have to fix anything in particular, on that occasion I had to open the mirror to put a wire somewhere and I thought that I could share the knowledge on how to open the mirror in case someone has to do it for repair or anything else.
Hey Antony my mirror is constantly ghosting, like trying to move on its own life it's fuKin possessed, is that the motor or a relay or wha? Tanks buddy!
By ghosting you mean moving on it's own as if you were pressing the switch? I am no expert my guess is maybe the switch/controller (the arrows command). Like a malfunction or some kind of short-circuit from the controller. I don't think it's the motor, the motor receive input from the "arrows switch" what you can try for free is to unplug it and see if it keep moving. If it doesn't then here we go. Keep me updated.
With a lot of strength. There are 3 spheres that are attached to the mirror. At 0.34 of the video you can see them. One central, one at its left side and one down (in this case of the left side mirror). Don't be afraid and just pull them out. Mazda 2 second serie speaking obviously. In the video I had already unclipped 2 of them, leaving only the middle one to remove, to be quicker in the video.
@@anthonycapon1882 I got the mirrors off and painted the caps but now I got the next problem I can't get the mirrors in anymore the way they should go in. the 2 white attach points on both sides go back in every time I push it. now I have to bring it to the garage with the hopes that he can fix it
@@KefKedes they will probably push it in 2 min and won't charge you a penny. You have to push them hard as you can see in the video. It was my first time doing it =/

Can you still drive without the wing panels on the back? As I hope to have two sprayed black in a bodyshop while I'm off to work etc.
Assuming this is no longer relevant for this person, but it isn't recommended. There are exposed wiring without the back cover.
