Welcome to the theater zone of a cappella. Probably the single most important thing to know about the group (according to me) is that they do it all. Geoff (the bass) or Layne Stein (the vocal percussionist) do 99% of the arrangements. Whoever takes the arrangement, takes everything. Plans the video, does the rough editing on the vocals and all of the editing on the video. On this one, (and most of the recent ones) Eli (pronounced El EE,) the tenor on far right, did lights. This one was Geoff's. (They do bring in a costumer & makeup artist for the wild ones like this). No label, no manager. They are the team.
Every thing they produce is brilliant. And if you want more of the bass his name is Geoff Castellucci and he makes low bass covers on his own. And again they are brilliant.
@@SarahDengler Recommend Geoff's Misty Mountain Cold and Blackbird! MMC is fully produced, like this one was, but Blackbird is very simple in comparison, mostly Geoff sitting at a keyboard.
Just wow… this band always wow me, recently found them and they are indeed amazing, absolutely love them, always get goosebumps watching them perform.welcome to the wonderful world of Voiceplay.💯👍🏽🔥
Nice to see the two of you dropping in to 'bother' Sarah, another great music vid reactor! Now get back to work on your own channel - I'll see you there!
Once again, Sarah, I am in your debt!! This is yet another unbelievable group you have introduced me to! I have seen the bassist, Geoff Castellucci on other people's reactions, but never the entire group!! Hopefully you will get the chance to react to more of their songs and I will be here to enjoy them!! Go Pirates!! Rrrrrrrrrrrrr!
First time hearing this song. Fact: just about a bone chilling performance by these pirates in the mist! Geoff Castellucci, the incredible bass, has a five octave range (like Tim Foust of Home Free) and you may wish to see his cover of "16 Tons", where he performs all the singing roles in one video.
@@SarahDengler LOL 😃. You handled this better than a lot of the other reactors did. QoFy reacts said a few words he doesn't normally say and almost fell off his chair at Geoff's first insane low note in this song. QuFy caught himself but stood up forgetting he was wearing only his boxers. There is a popular reaction to this going around with reactors reacting to reactors. Geoff's solo work is amazing as he frequently has a quartet of himself (4 Geoff's are better than one) and one reactor had a picture behind him fall off the wall during his reaction. I hope you really enjoy this journey!
Greetings from Munich! I loved the expression of your face. It was just like me when I first listened to voiceplay. And after that first time I listened to it over and over again.
Welcome to the Voiceplay - Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole! Love watching people see them for the first time, they are wonderful! May I suggest their Wicked Medley and Geoff's House of the Rising Sun.
Welcome to VoicePlay's world, and welcome to Geoff Castellucci's world. We're all just passengers in it XD They are amazing vocalists, and even when they're working with a guest singer, they do an absolutely phenomenal job. Sometimes they get more theatrical even than this (See their Queen medley or Oogie Boogie song), but regardless of how theatrical they get, they are just... glorious. And, for that matter, Geoff is just... amazing. He is gloriously skilled with the technique of subharmonics, and his solo channel is just amazing all of the time. His most recent cover of Shenandoah is just beautiful, and one of his more restrained pieces (that is to say, he knew just how far to push it, and didn't go too overboard with it), but my favorites of his have to be Sixteen Tons and House of the Rising Sun. His Monster Mash was pretty fun too, though XD I hope you get to explore more of their work and some of his work as well. If you do, have fun!
It is always such a pleasure to watch people see Voice Play for the first time. Those of us who have seen a lot of Voice Play take their brilliance for granted and seeing a first time reaction tends to remind us of it. Great reaction. May I suggest reacting to their "Halo Theme" cover. It is completely different but no less wonderful.
They're quite a lot the first time you see them.... and every time after. They have a lot of amazing stuff. The Bass, Geoff Castellucci, has a lot of great solo stuff where he records multiple tracks of himself. For Voiceplay, I'd recommend you check out their Wicked Medley (songs from the musical). It's one of the most incredible things I've every seen. Also, If I Were a Rich Man (from Fiddler on the Roof) and Can't Help Falling in Love. But they have many songs and most of them are amazing. For Geoff's work: 16 Tons, and The House of the Rising Sun. He's also just released Shenandoah. It's all pretty mind-blowing. Love your reactions.
Yay, finally! 😂 as others have said they are different from PTX and home free that together form the great triumvirate. Lots more to discover from them.
Loved your reaction! When my wife saw them for the first time, she could not believe that there were no instruments; that the sounds came from Layne's beat-boxing and only the voices of the singers. The base, Geoff Castellucci, also does solo videos that are incredible also. Best group ever!
Geoff (Jeff) and the gang will do that to you, lol. They have SO Many awesome songs with a theatrical side to all of them. Eli (Elly) has a fantastic voice with a large range too. They all have powerful voices and huge talent along with a background in things like voice and character acting. They are now my favorite group of the a capella triad.
Great reaction! Voice Play are the theater kids of acapella and they are so much fun. They are from Orlando Florida and they worked at Universal and Disney while they were attending college in Orlando. They have done some excellent covers of Disney music (I love their Little Mermaid medley). You would also enjoy them as Vikings in "My Mother Told Me". Geoff Castellucci is their bass singer and he has a lot of solo work on his own site on You Tube. Geoff and Voice Play have the best Halloween music!
they all are fantastic Geoff(Jeff) Castellucci with his bass voice give us an "eargasm" you should try "My mother told me" and "Oogie boogie man" but they have many and Geoff makes even solo songs I suggest "Black bird (Beatles)" and "Misty mountains cold (The hobbit")" but there are more. Stay safe
Firstly Sarah... thank you for not interrupting the performance. I liked your comments and look forward to future videos. BTW... is it out of line to say you are drop dead gorgeous
Loved your reaction! Voiceplay is amazing. If you liked this, check out more from Voiceplay (literally any of their full length videos are worth reacting to - they have some shorts that are only about a minute long though) or from Geoff (the bass in the front who stood out to you - he has his own UA-cam channel and everything there is his individual work).
I take it you enjoyed VoicePlay! They have about 175 songs to review and then Geoff has a pile of solo songs. You'll be busy but we all will be here to watch your reaction!
my list of favourites for Voiceplay, in random order: Oogie boogie song little mermaid if I were a rich man the grinch Moana the Halo theme Just sing Friends on the other side and yes, this is the shortlist
OK, so now you should check out Oogie Boogie’s Song, and My Mother Told Me and Little Mermaid Medley. Also, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl is brilliant. These guys have been around awhile so there’s lots for you to enjoy. Great reaction!
I love seeing people's first reaction to this song. About 90% of people are gobsmacked and tongue tied. These guys are unbelievable.
They are unbelievable!

That sounds like suicide 🤣

They are fantastic, such great harmonies and that bass!!!!

Ahhh the classic "what the hell whas that?" when people hear Geoff for the first time :D

Thank you so much, will check it out as soon as I can
As another commenter put it, Geoff makes low notes look so easy we forget how impressive his range is.
That's a good description of Geoff's bass. The first time you hear it is like an electric shock!
you are at the start of a wonderful journey glad you enjoyed it ❤️🏴
Thank you!
This guys are amazing. 💯🔥Nice reaction sis.❤️
Thanks sisi
My favorite reaction today. That bass, though!
It was maddddd

What a fabulous song for your introduction to VoicePlay! Enjoy every moment of this rabbit hole!

Welcome to the addiction that is Voiceplay! Aren't they brilliant? They are so talented! Always makes me smile to see a new person discover them. :)

Geoff's low bass gets the same reaction out of everyone when he hits those low low notes. But together they are mind blowing.
They are spectacular. Would love to see you react to their "Halo Theme." It is stunning!
I will, as soon as I can 😊 thanks a lot vicki
Many more where that came from!
Awesome! Can't wait to explore
I really enjoyed your reaction ... thanks so much for sharing!

Please react to more of them, almost anything from their repertoire is great.
Firstly Sarah... thank you for not interrupting the performance. I liked your comments and look forward to future videos. BTW... is it out of line to say you are drop dead gorgeous
Keep watching them they are amazing
Once Voiceplay does a cover, there is no reason for anyone else to cover that song ever again.
Lots of fun. Try Tim Foust and Peter Hollens “ Misty Mountains Cold.”
Loved your reaction! Voiceplay is amazing. Geoff voice is just so deep and his subharmonics are briliant i practice subharmonics and they are hard nice reaction dough
Welcome to VoicePlay. Be warned they are addictive.
The bass singer actually can go lower than he does in this song - he also can sing a lot higher than you would expect.
Wonderful reaction. I will be watching to see if you do any more for Voiceplay, and especially for Geoff Castellucci. Thank you.
Beautiful woman, beautiful reaction. Listen Geoff Castellucci solo - Far Over The Misty Moutain Cold ! ! ! ( That BASS ! )
Thanks for the recommendation 😊 added

Geoff goes so low sometimes, it's hell's basement. The devil is afraid to look down there in the dark..
They will give u chills
Sounds like a song you here just before you die
They were hanging pirates to this!
#Voiceplay❣️❣️❣️
If u really want a chilling sound you MUST see HOIST THE COLORS BASS OF TIKTOK
Diese Stimmen hauen einen um, aber Geoff's Stimme geht bis ins Knochenmark... tolle reaction
Thank you for a great reaction. Would you please do a reaction video of Voice Plays version of Once Upon A Dream ?
Sarah, I 'am torn between Voiceplay or Home Free on which group sounds better? They both sound grate. < spelling 😊😊
Being able to make music without any instruments is incredible!
Forget the singing. Go back and watch Eli's face!
