Thanks! Outstanding job with providing a very detailed video. Excellent pace, video and instructions combined with a pleasant voice to walk through the steps. I’ve had my Maytag Neptune Stackable unit for 23 years and the Wax Motor was the fix needed to resolve the spinning problem.
Thank you! Excellent video and very detailed instructions in a well paced manner. I’ve had this Maytag Neptune stackable washer/dryer for 23 years and fortunately, the wax motor was the reason for the spinning problem.
Nice work! My Maytag stackable was having the same problem. In fact, your machine looks just like mine! What mine didn't have was the spring behind the wax motor that you used a flat head screwdriver to pry up to remove. I watched the video and then worked on replacing the wax motor. 30 minutes later, the wax motor was installed. 80 minutes later, all parts re-installed and washer tested on spin cycle- successful!!! Thank you for the great video and explanation(s).
Amazing instructor, your voice really calms an anxious homeowner. Though I can't do the repair myslf it will keep me from getting ripped off. Many thanks, Jim
Thanks for the video. Ended up being an open limit switch the wax motor engages with preventing my washer from coming up to high speed. The wax motor was good. Replaced the limit switch and everything works now.
Thanks for posting this video. Gave us all the information we needed to get our MLE2000 Neptune Stack unit is working again with a $9.00 part! Had this machine since 2001 and love the way it cleans.
What a great video, we have the exact duo washer dryer and was leaving the clothes soaking wet. Ordered the $20 part on amazon and replaced it. Works like new. Saved ALOT of money on a new set.
You are a total badass for making this video. I just replaced my wax motor because of you. You are the only video I found that was so helpful with my machine. Again you’re the bomb. Thanks again
Handy video. Mine wasn't the wax motor but the displacement switch you pointed out at the start of the video. The washer would not spin and went from 7 minutes to 0 instantly. I could hear the drum spinning slowly prior to going to 0 so I knew it had to be a sensor problem. When I opened the machine up and pressed the switch with my finger, it was kinda "crunchy" sounding so it was on its last legs. Also on the MAH5500BWW, I could not find just the wax motor, the whole door lock assembly sold as a unit which includes the wax motor.
Thank you for the very useful information. After changing the wax motor it is back and running great again. Thanks for showing how to get to it. was very easy for me. Harry B
Can anyone tell me what the part number is? I have the same machine, bought it in 2001 and we love it. Thanks for this video. Can't wait to get this fixed.

Great video, I think this will solve my problem. One quick question: you said that safety switch at the bottom will keep it from "spinning". Do you mean the high speed spin, or spinning at all? Mine does the 60rpm agitation back and forth during the spin cycle. Thinking (hoping) it might just be that switch?? Thanks - in advance!!
Can you take your washer Drain hose out from the wall and lay it down on the ground which should cause all the water to drain out. Might be good to put it in a bucket
Mine is doing the same thing, not draining. Why is it not draining correctly? I don’t want to have to pull the drain hose from the wall after every load, so is there an easy fix for this? Thank you!
I have a similar problem that is intermittent so I have removed the front panel and the cover plate over the door latch and reattached the door. Now I can operate the washer and watch the wax motor when the the no spin event happens again.
I have the same machine. The belt is not staying in place for the washer. It keeps going towards the washer drum. I think I need a new belt. Do you agree or do I need to replace the wax motor?
I’ve had all my cowling off and watched my wax motor push into position so I know it’s not the wax motor.. it agitates and it will ramp up, but it will not spin full speed thus leaving sopping wet clothes. This is on a Maytag Neptune washer. I’ve checked all the safety switches and even watched it while it ran it never touched a safety switch and still won’t go full speed. It ramps up a little then stops. Spins back and forth and tries to go full speed but it hasn’t.
The One I owe the dryer leak on the. Control board replace 3 mother board In 1 year. Ok for an American made machine. Not European quality. The weird thing no detergent drawer and once lock could not be open so weird way in order to set the prewash

Hi do you know how to order the limit switch?
Could you provide more info on this switch? Part number? Pics of the part?

Did you ever get that figured out?
@@bizlarry yes, the wax switch in the video fixed my problem completely.
We have exactly the same model on your video. How do I drain excess water from the bottom washer? Should I go through the back or front?

Might be good to put it in a bucket

Good thinking Steve. Might need a new wax motor.

Hi Tamela,
Can you send me a video of what that washer belt is doing? Scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Hi there, I have an issue with a similar model with the door being stuck locked ! How do I get to the door latch?
Thanks
Can you take the drain tube out from the wall drain and put it in a bucket to make sure all the water drains out.
Then the door should open .
I just finished replacing my wax moter. Still not doing spin cycle. What should I do next?
Can you send the same question to my email at: Scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Hello, excuse me, did you manage to solve your problem? The same thing happens to my machine, it's the same.
Doe the wax motor switch control the locked light? If it is not working then the light would not come on
Sir, if the water is not draining out, clothes smell moldie, is that a drain pump problem or wax motor?
Can you send that same question to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Would you happen to have a part number? We are dealing with the exact same thing right now. Thanks!
The part number does show in the beginning of the video

I replaced my wax motor hoping for a quick fix but didn't get lucky still on spins on low for about 1 minute then stops spinning
Gotcha, time for a new motor control unit👍

I think it needs the motor and motor controller replaced.

It’s so weird because I ran it this morning and it spun full speed.
this is good but would be better if we could see better
I have the exact model and it doesn’t clean my clothes, do you know what it could be?
Lucy Q Fabray Hi!!!! Check if the detergent (soap) is being released , is it agitating???? Good luck 👍
Good morning. Do you have a part number?
Just check sears parts direct.com and put in your model number.
