- In honor of United Airlines and USC announcing a naming rights agreement for the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Trojan Marching Band made a surprise appearance at the United Terminal at LAX.
Could you imagine waiting for a flight, trying to kill time, then out of nowhere this high energy party shows up??? What a treat that must have been!!!!
Imagine being hungover waiting for your flight and having all this racket show up. 🥴😡🙉
@@dilbertdoe601 awesome!!!!
would have loved that!
Everything that we see in this video is there because of one reason and that is Dr Bartner. Without any doubt, he's the best band director in the world and has been for 50 years. His lifetime of dedication to his band and all of us that passed through has left an indelible impact on tens of thousands of lives. He's as good as it gets.
He is great, and it is sad he will be retiring this year. Dr Bartner is a great Trojan!
He is very impressive!
Every time I hear Conquest or Fight On I get a chill up my spine when played by this great band. I beat a base drum with them in the early 60's. Buck Massie USC 60 - 64
The Man on the ladder!
1000%
I hope people at the airport understand how iconic this moment is for the city of L.A.,if your coming to school in L.A. you'd best be going to USC with pride,or UCLA but do it with pride ✌️🌴🎓Fight on!✌️
some do, some don't - they "got me" with the low blow of the Gershwin there. Very special moments.
Yes sir!
That blonde is killing it! 😍
That was a really puke-inducing comment. I've lived in LA all my life and not once have I done it with USC or UCLA pride. And I never fought anyone, or anything not once.
Don't know some like me other means no we @ALL DIE SOMETIME,KILL ME YOU GOT A CHANVE ILL EVEN FIRST NO BODY CARES ILL DIE ALONE TIME.TO.DIEMALOME
That white sweater and pleated skirt look of the USC song girls is iconic.
Always love marching bands!!! And as a fan of Fleetwood Mac for 50 years.. I just love Tusk done by USC band!!! 💝💝💝💝
300+ artists strong with 2 platinum albums, voted by college football fans the best band of all time in 2015, over 300 appearances a year, tireless support of USC athletics, the Grammys, Academy Awards, Great Wall of China, Rome, Venice, London, Paris, Coachella, Olympic Games, Amsterdam, Japan, Super Bowls, Hollywood Bowl, over 24 movies (including as the Alabama band in Forrest Gump!), 34 Rose Bowls, 25 Rose Bowl victories, 11 football national championships, 302 individual NCAA championships and 130 team championships -- all supported heart and soul by TMB, the Trojan Marching Band. Yes there are other terrific bands and fight songs (Hail to the Victors being among the best), but absolutely *nothing* compares to Dr. Bartner's lifetime of passion that is the USC Trojan Marching Band, the Spirit of Troy.
Being the first college marching band to perform in a music video Fleetwood Mac Tusk 1980 and have a #1 record!
I agree with you about Hail to the Victors, which John Philip Sousa did was the best marching band song ever written. I may be slightly prejudiced since my daughter was in the Michigan Marching Band for four years. Those USC girls are awesome.
300 events a year??? But when do they go to school?
I saw the video of them marching past the Coliseum in Rome and all the spectators staring in amazement.
I LOVE the center girl's walk. That is beauty in motion. They are all blessed!
You mean the music, hey!
her legs leave much to be desired and legs are attached to the butt. Just saying.
I loved the downtown girl, she is too beautiful!
@@robjohnson8861 You're just saying...idiotic stuff that makes no sense.
Those girls must surely be supremely fit. Practicing those routines several times a week would no doubt mean no need to go to the gym. And even after 15 minutes of that workout there is no sign they're needing a rest ot catch their breath. Keeping up that super-physical routine during Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" must require levels of fitness not required of top level athletes.
Consistently one of the Best Marching Bands in the country! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I just stumbled on this. Not disappointed at all! My first thought was, "are they in the airport?" Very cool! Small ensemble really kicked it!
Brings a tear to my eye to see these wonderful young people having such a great time.
donald johnson was it brought on by the trombone player?
John Doe it bring a tear to my that these kids are being brainwashed by the Dems.
Damn racist school. Black girl not front and center. Start noticing every marketing picture how often the black person is right in the middle of the picture.
Rob Johnson 😂😂😂
Rob Johnson if they were racist they wouldn’t even have an African American girl.
UK here. God Bless America!! This kind of thing alone is what makes America great. Whoever started the tradition of the band and of course the delightful Cheerleaders combo is a genius. I don't usually get jealous of other Countries, but I am jealous that the USA has cheerleaders everywhere. :D
GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!
Uhhhhhhhhhh...YOU guys did mate! LOL! The band anyway. In the 1700s each regiment of the British Army maintained its own military band, first private citizens and then actual soldiers. It was for morale enhancement on the battlefield. Subsequently, when we formed the Continental Army to fight during the revolution, we followed suit and had fifes and drums and the like. The college band is an outgrowth of military bands. In 1907 the very first pictorial (instead of rank and file marching like the military did) formation was performed by Purdue College's band. From there, it just took off! It really got good after World War I because so many ex soldiers who played in military bands got jobs as band directors. So even though music during battles had been around since around 200 BC, it was YOU guys who influenced US here in the States! Cheers mate! 😊😊
@@retroguy9494 British military bands I know about...if you don't know that you're not a true Brit! :D We are exceptional when it comes to the quality of bands within our military. With the band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines being the cream of the crop. Our pleasure.
And thanks for coming up with the College offshoot idea of Bands and cheerleaders combo, great music combined with the female form dancing along. An Inspired decision. lol
@@markbanner6473 Since you mentioned it, that is yet ANOTHER thing that we copied from you guys across the pond. The cream of the crop here in the States is the United States Marine band. Its the oldest of our military bands and the oldest professional musical organization as well, having started in 1798. Its nickname is "the President's Own." President Jefferson named it so after the British usage where bands were designated as "King's Own " or "Queens Own." I sure wish I would have been a history professor. 😊
I cheered for 5 years, from middle to high school. It destroyed my knee (it’s tougher than it looks!), but I have so many great memories. It’s hard work, but a lot of fun, a great American tradition.
Hey y'all..... My dad was a huge fan of USC Football and definitely the band. Back in the day he would make a point to drop a 12 pack of his favorite beer in the path of the band as they walked from Tommy Trojan to the coli (although I understand the band isn't permitted nowadays). He passed away a week ago, but he would have loved this! FIGHT ON!!
RIP to your pops.
My dad was born in the 40’s in south jersey. Saw USC football on Tv in the 60’s for the first time and just watching the band take the field he said it was like watching a conquering army storm the battlefield. Then the football team took the field lol
Born and raise in Cali myself. Weve had USC season tix 40 years. Even though all the seats in the worlds best sports stadium ever, the coliseum (2 soon to be 3 Olympics, 1rst super bowl, etc) are empty now, when there was fans sucked not seeing dad in his seat.
We’re 2-0 so far this year. 1 win for your dad and 1 for mine.
Fight on ✌🏻🏈🏆
@@erikpollock3969 Oh yeah. We had season tickets all through the bad years when half the stadium was empty and us kids would just buy general admission tickets for $8 bucks and sit wherever we wanted. The team didn't win that much but it was a fun Saturday with a pregame picnic on campus, throwing the football around and then walk to the coli.
Sorry for your loss 🙏🏾
Respect FIGHT ON
USC is the best …. Prestigious school !!!!!
Never gets old!!!!!
LAX The only airport that has a marching band to greet you LA and to see you off on your journey!
Rhapsody in Blue....OMG!! One of my favourite pieces of music of all time, played by one of my favourite marching bands of all time!! Way to go TMB!! FIGHT ON!!.
I got to witness this one time in USC Trojan life . Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
At the airport to pick up one of my fellow alums from SF. I arrived at the airport just as the greatest band in the Universe was die barking there plane. Meet her at the gate and we stayed for all 3 performances in the terminal. Awesome show from a awesome band,
USC Trojans class of '79 - Marshall School of Business - MBA. Fight on for ole SC ✌🏽️

I am a huge Notre Dame fan but I absolutely love their fight song. Other than the ND fight song, this one is the best and can hear it over and over. Awesome job! Very lucky airport passengers.
The absolute BEST fight song in college football PERIOD!!
FIGHT ON!!!! ✌️ But I do have mad respect for you to come out and say that, no Notre Dame fan would ever admit that, so respect bro!!!
I love Notre Dames Fight Song More Then any School. Our Fight Song Is Known All world.. Can Usc Say that.Go Irish...
@@norcosbest Can you say your band has TWO platinum records? I didn't think so......FIGHT ON!!!✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Sorry but Michigan’s fight song is better than either and I’d put Notre Dame second.
No less an authority than the March King himself, John Philip Sousa, called "On Wisconsin!" "the finest of college marching songs." I'm with him. But I agree that USC and ND are right behind.
Such an outstanding performance. We'll sure miss Dr. Arthur C. Barner
Best marching band in the world. One of the few who perform Original material and not generic recycled shared songs.
My dad was born in the 40’s in south jersey. Saw USC football on Tv in the 60’s for the first time and just watching the band take the field he said it was like watching a conquering army storm the battlefield. Then the football team took the field lol
Fight on ✌🏻
As a Notre Dame fan-it’s always a treat to have USC come to South Bend. As long as I draw breath, I’m cool as hell with USC folk. It’s a GD treat to have the band come in. May you guys keep being you! #FightOn #GoIrish
#FakeND Dame OREOGN STATE BEAVERS are 2-0 v #NoTitleIrish! #GoBeavs! Glad I hit em hard in 2001 Fiesta Bowl!
That's what I'm talking about! USC
Those UCS cheerleaders looking good.🤗 The Band sounds good too.
Not a huge USC fan but this band is absolutely fantabulous (Fantastic and Fabulous all wrapped up into one)... and have fun doing it!
USC always has the prettiest cheerleaders. Classy.
I dunno 'cause the SEC has great looking cheerleaders.
USC '77
Captain 1985 I was stationed in Huntsville and watched the Alabama/Auburn games and the cheerleaders had that classic southern beauty look.
such an epic performance. I would have loved to see that in person. Fight on!
What a great day -- memories for a life time. Thank you for sharing.
BIG like for TUSK... 13:21 THE 5 stars of fighting songs and cheerleading worldwide!!!!
This was absolutely amazing !!! I loved all the songs the band played !!! They are so awesome !!! I will be watching this over and over !!
I was wrong this absolutely looks worth $500,000.... money well spent Aunt Becky.
I hope the Song Girls can get extra exposure in 2021 going forward. We miss seeing them during USC sports.
Best band in the universe..
CME4 Sheepdogs
Well... maybe, if Ohio State is in a different universe😉
You got the best sweaters though👍🏼
Gives me chills! Thanks! Wonderful performance!
Usc is fantastic and usc stadium
I just want to hear them doing the mighty, soul stirring "Conquest", greatest College victory march in the world, meant to sound like a magnificent Roman Triumph, and after all, Virgil, that great Roman poet establishes Romans as a sort of rebirth of the vanished Trojans of glorious bygone days.
Just so awesome! I wish I was there to witness, Id be dancin in the halls! The worlds supreme college marching band! Fight ON!!
@J Yamane Evidently, you've never seen the Southern University Marching Band? Don't get me wrong though, SC's band is awesome!
I just couldn't believe not one person in the crowd screamed out UCLA SUCKS!!!! FIGHT ON ✌️
Conquest ✌️▶️▶️ song that never fails to impress 👏👏
Guy was so into his phone he didnt realize he has a marching band right behind him....classic
and TYPICAL!
Love, love, love this surprise performance!!! 👏 🌹 🏆
I wonder how many people missed their flights just because, they knew they may never see something like this again!?!
The coolest shakos in college marching band uniforms. Well done!
I would have cried. I miss this so much and this was my schools fight song as well.
That mellophone player must have been having the time of his life.
Fun setlist! I loved getting to do this kind of stuff while I was in my university's marching band.
The Cheerleaders are gorgeous
My fear is that cancel culture will get rid of cheerleaders 🙄
@@gabapute “Fear”. lol
And extremely athletic!
"The WORLD'S GREATEST MARCHING BAND" . I love hearing the band come out to track at 3:45pm monday thru friday to practice
#FakeNews
It had to be one more honor to be in this group!!! Well balanced, sound bigger than they are!
Those girls walk for what 200 300 yards in a perfect straight line as evidenced by the way they follow the line in the tile.
I can't go 20 feet without falling over
If I could meet one of those girls, I WOULD fall over! Heh Heh!
Sucks getting old, doesn't it dude? LOL
The world needs more of this flavor of surrealism :)
What a thrill it would have been to be there! #FightOn Trojan Marching Band! The Greatest Band in the Universe!
Absolutely.....FIGHT ON!!! ✌️✌️
There's this school called "Ohio State" and I would like to disagree
There's an organization called Drum Corps International. Not college, but darn some of the most technical playing ever.
MIchigan fan here, but got to love the USC tradition. May it live on.
I was there, it was a wonderful surprise (and I’m a LMU alum)! Fight On!
LMU? lol, at your assumption that anybody outside of LA or college basketball
would have a clue what school that is.
no way. was it super loud?
Cant take my eyes of the "sistuh"....God is she gorgeous!
ikr!
The Greatest College Fight Song Ever. Fight On SC Outstanding
Your "school" is criminal enterprise. One scandal follows another scandal. Classless.
Must be a UCLA fan......UCLA SUCKS!!!! FIGHT ON ✌️
Good luck this year guys. Fight on. 2023
Not a fan of USC but the band and cheerleaders are classic. This is a great performance. That being said, go Irish!
USC rocks. Maybe you remember me. I'm Anthony Davis. That's Mr 6 TDs to you (55-24).
FIGHT ON!! ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
@@robjohnson8861 Anthony Davis - My Favorite SC Tailback and the Notre Dame Killer!
yes
This is mesmerizing.
I'm a Michigan guy, but you gotta love USC's band and enthusiasm!
Art Bartner slightly adjusting the stance of that trombone player the first time the band plays is just too much! 😂😂
That was nice. Salute to the USC Band
My eyes immediately went to young lady on the left. . .she has an extra bounce to her step that is just mesmerizing. All beautiful though.
I prefer the blonde.
I am guessing a marching band showing up as the customs guy is staring you in the eye while he puts on his rubber gloves would lighten the mood.
A moving performance. Always loved ‘Tusk’ but this takes the cake!
Most may not be aware of this.., Philip Bailey of EWF - “Earth Wind and Fire” is a member of the USC Trojan Marching Band. Fight On ✌️
Amazing coverage here
How beautiful!!!
At the 13:14 mark, the band plays TUSK a song from the band FLEETWOOD MAC.
Loved it. When I lived in L.A. I used to go to the games just to see the band!
Fantastic,,,, Go Trojans, The USC band was also there when launched 'Shuttle by United"
USC has the best uniforms. And hell ya Playing Tusk at the airport is awesome.
Can’t stand still listening and watching this great vid!
Welcome to the BIG10.
as a usc fan, I can't wait to watch the amazing competition
Hello B1G=) Fight On!

Yes you are amazing and super 🤩🤩🤩 from Buena Park CA USA
And to think, a one of a lifetime experience and you shot the whole thing on your cell phone Vertically.....instead of Horizontally. Ugh!! Fight On!!

Imagine trying to sleep and a marching band goes by. You would have never saw it coming.
The dance team are smokin!

Welcome to the Big Ten! USC!
I don't know what's going on here, but I'm pretty sure Frank Abignale just got away again...
Haha!
how in the hell do you get 25 thumbs up for such an off the wall, not even funny comment? Goes to show, people are twits.
@@robjohnson8861 I'm sorry this is happening to you.
I'm a GA boy by birth with a Son in the Univ of FL Gator Band, and I often argue that southern college football is dominate, but USC has the baddest band I've ever seen! I know Arthur B. will be missed next year, but I'm sure their tradition will continue.
Go Gators
USC has the best band!
LAX is my favorite airport. Wonderful, even without such a fantastic performance.
Very classy and precise
Great to see Dr. Art leading the pack! #FightOn
GREATEST director EVER!!!! Fight on ✌️
USC TROJAN MARCHING BAND!!! THE COOLEST,THE BEST!!!
Excellently executed!!! Bravo!! Go Trojans!!!!
Fantastic. The song girls rule!
I believe that is the great Arthur Bartner.
When my gf was attending USC living at EVK dorm (1973-74)we went to the dorm cafeteria and there was a dude in line for chow holding sheet music in a binder in one hand and conducting with the other.
She said, “ Oh that’s Arthur Bartner, the marching band director.”
John McKay still coach.
Those were the days.
Oh My God these people are amazing. I applaud them for their taent even though they have an academic work load too//
The out of state football recruits at 5:35 is ironic..... They're like, "yeah this is what we've heard about!!"
NICE Band sounds great! The 3 Girls are CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a Trojan and 8000 miles away in Malaysia! Fight On! We're SC!!
That was beautiful!!!
SC is awesome! that is worth paying for and they get it for free because they were at the right place at the right time. Those people are smart to be photographing that.
This video will get me through finals ....fight on !
Michigan fan but this is VERY COOL!
Not as cool as the Michigan Band playing Hail to the Victors in the block M formation in front of 100,000 plus fans. Go Blue!
Ah…pre-Covid fun. Glad they did this. It must have been so awesome watching live.
Love the sunglasses!!
To my mind these kids, these talented young men and women are the bomb 💣!!! They put on a show! People got a small glimmering what they do every game and event where the Spirit of Troy is needed!
Loved seeing them at Navy Pier in Chicago today! Beat the Irish!
Greatest tradition in college football. The band plays constantly as the Trojans move up and down and field. We need USC back at the top of the football world. Scoot over Clemson and Alabama. The big boys are coming back.
