@@kcturbos2733 thanks, I forgot who I spoke with on the phone from y'all, but they were helpful and gave me some good data points to compare to. Happy with the suggested tuner. Since the video was published I've converted this truck to a dually and put a service body on it and, the turbo does even better with the extra weight. Thanks!
great videos. I found this video looking for people that use Forscan. even better, I put baby swamps injectors in and had more smoke than wanted. I sold the rig but figured I should pass this video to the new owner. Thanks! PS. I'm putting a 95 7.3 into a 1986 F-250 with a 5 speed.
I'm pretty happy with the Forscan, I've used it on probably 6-8 trucks now and it's done what I've needed to do in every case. That bullnose sounds like a fun project
I was going to say on the previous video more fuel means more smoke, looks like jeli built got the tune just right for you. They probably over fuel as a safety measure from php on the hydra. Like Cobb the OTS maps are good but not always perfect. They would rather run you rich than lean I guess. Idk much about diesel or tuning them but I'm comfortable with gasoline vehicles. I'd be interested to see wideband readings on your truck during a good pull.
That's not how diesels work, they aren't rich or lean. They're over or under fueled, and overfueled leads to smoke, high EGTs, and eventually holes in the top of pistons. It's not like a turbo gas engine where 10:1 AFR is safe, 11.5:1 makes more power, and 13:1 leans out, detonates and rattles the engine apart under boost. Anyways, it's fixed now, and yes the mega squirt is good I've used that on some turbo EFI air-cooled VW applications
So I got forscan but it wont connect to my 97. I have 12v to the constant power pin. I downloaded some com drivers for it and will test it later. Is there any other reason forscan wouldn't connect?

I actually filmed an episode about swapping this to a service body, dually, etc and never published it. The truck videos did so poorly on this channel and my regular viewers were not into it, so I never published that last episode. Truck has been working almost daily for me as a service truck though, going to rebuild a 3306 tomorrow
@@buttcrackcycles damn that sucks you need more truck veiwers haha I have a crew cab 4x4 ive been on the fence about dually swapping for years. Finding a nice dually bed without going to the service or flat bed has been my issue
Haven't calculated it yet on this setup. I was getting 18-20 on the stock injectors and turbo, doesn't feel like I'm stopping for fuel any more often now
Glad to see its running better for you.

My Subaru had a mega squirt plug and play pro. Bad ass ECU and software.
