I had lots of drift with VR. What worked for me was: when you switch on the VR headset, leave it lying on a flat surface for 30 seconds. Give it time to initialize its gyros and compass. Aftwards you put it on and no more drift. Works great!
Hey, guys, I notice if you remove the ps camera from the tv and place it on something different that makes a big difference. Not sure what causes it, could be the light feedback or something but this worked perfectly for me.
Vernz Willbaforce This helped me also. On top of the TV I have all sorts of tracking issues, but when I set it on the stand below the TV it works flawlessly.
+Carby ya it work just not as well. Track gets messed up when you control or move controls get in front of you face. Ive had the best luck with the cam a face hight.
It has nothing to do with the camera tracking. It's the internal gyro and accelerometer, because it also happens in cinematic mode which doesn't use the camera.
hi bud great video and I have to agree, the vr will change gaming but it may take a while. however for my self and many post I read this works great if your not one of those that has to adjust camera angle so the feet and head line up together. some and even my self get a match sometimes but sometimes the head is way out of sync and u need to adjust the camera. no idea why this happens but it does. this in return messes up most sit down games and has your frontal objects moving. I believe this will work with the lucky ones who seem to get instant line up but ones who have to adjust the camera will no doubt have to reach adjust for other games. my self I still get some movements from let's say the docking station in the bat cave. this problem I belive is one that is going to be the gremlin of the vr. like that cable that always needs to be moved or taped, I think it will work for some and not others and will haunt the vr unfortunately. vr 2 will hopefully improve on this and the gremlin will be firmly locked in its box and put away for all. I'm OK with problems and understand tech as forever going forward but always with issues, that's advancement and I'm cool with it. the vr is a fantastic experience with or without issues. great video bud it will Deffo help some
funktastic- trials fusion vr is fantastic without issues if there were issues like the ones I'm having now at the best buy where they had the demo I wouldn't have bought one. it's so bad that I don't want to show my friends because it's a bad experience so hopefully when I return mines for a new one it will fix the problem. if it doesn't I'm just returning it for my money because for $700 this thing should work the way it was intended.
i hope it gets sorted for you bud , and yeah i totally see what your saying. each owns experience and issues are all at different levels and i totally agree if you not happy i would deffo return it. Customers always right , nobody can know at what level your problems are or anyone's we all accept things in a different way. I really hope it gets sorted for you bud , i love it but im getting some issues but mainly its with batman. Good luck bud and either way man , the next gen will be more reliable and it wont be long before they upgrade the funk ( sorry for late reply dude :)
THanks for the tip using Batman i just bought it. the new game WINDLANDS has a ridiculous amount of options for tuning the VR Headset. I wish every game had the amount of options that Windlands has.
My PlayStation doesn’t let me walk around anymore in VR. Someone please help me. When I try to walk every thing shakes and my motion controllers in the games dont work either. My hands in game are way behind me and not I. The right spot.
ive tried the calibration in batman vr, the problem I'm having is, there is a jutter in the image, I will move my head around but in the game it will stay the same, like its not tracking me...
+Brian Becker check to see if your in Cinema mode only the back lights will be on. And I just found out that if it's to dark in your room it can mess with the tracking.
Any new developments in fixing this? Model 2 does the same thing. I got a replacement headset thinking the one I'd gotten was defective, but the new one is having the same wobbling issue. I've tried pretty much everything except formatting my ps4 and spending 20 bucks on the batman trick.
I have the same problem. After I tried the PS VR day 1 it tracked good after that the next day it was suddenly bad, I cant even turn right or left without my arms floating and I would also suddenly jump around and my hands would always wobble even if im facing the camera, I've tried everything to fix it but it wont work I Have not tried this yet, I'll give this a try when I get the game.
I’m gonna give this a go now I hope it’s works, I woke up today and the one move controller ain’t working properly my hand on the games is shaking uncontrollably and I tried everything else so fingers crossed, I’m downloading batman now ;)
Welshboyuk76 have you tried setting your camera. It helps the ps4 know what the background is making tracking works better. I do this everytime I move my set. Hope you get this problem fix I know how frustrating it can be, but know this can be fixed and when you do you'll love the psvr so much more.
so...i have this common "wobble" problem where i move back and forth constantly and its frustrating so does this work for that too? Im planning to buy arkham vr just for the sake of it and yea does it?
I know this comment is old, but I get the same issue as well. I think there is nothing we can really do about it. It seems to be a side effect of tracking Z position with only one camera. I believe if you rotated yourself 90° it would start shaking left and right. The only way to solve this is with multiple cameras or a Vive like tracking system (good news, Sony is working on just that!)
i have another problem,i by a new ps4 and glassesVR,but when i want to download "the playroom VR " in the screen have this messege- "This Content cannot be selected at the this time",so what i must to do ?
Empty Chest I'll try it but the thing that I don't get why would it work flawlessly out the box and it's buggy now? my set up is the same my controllers are fully charged the room is pitch black what else does it need.
+CheeksDaFreak 305 I had the same problem. Did you try the batman fix. Or the try charging the controllers. Or put something on your cam to keep it from sliding around its almost like the cords more weigh then the cam it's self (so it could be sliding back slowly) I see some people are taping it to camera stands
Empty Chest ima go through every step this weekend and see what's the issue. When it worked flawlessly this thing is great so hope I find out what the problem is.
For some reason it is always only one of my controllers that doesn’t work ( floating away from me, disappearing, etc) does anyone have a solution to this?
Hell Guy they are worse than non vr games, and kind of look like they would be more in a ps2 to PS3 era game, but the immersion and gameplay of actually being inside of the game makes it so worth it!
That's quite a ridiculous statement. Ps2 era? I'll give you PS3, but even that's stretching it. The difference between PS4 to PSVR is essentially lower resolution textures, shadows, and maybe reduced reflections. If you'd played Resident Evil 7 in VR you'd know that no ps2 or ps3 game can reach those visuals. The game still has the same poly count, same lighting, same shaders, same normal maps, etc. I'm guessing though, that by "ps2 graphics" you mean that some developers choose to have a low-poly aesthetic in their VR games, like superhot, rez, battlezone, etc. But that's just misleading, because it's not quite ps2 graphics, only an aesthetic choice.
As you said yourself you need to recalibrate when you start any game so that's automatically bs. If it helps you "mentally"it does not mean it's a solution
+iDEVIL this is just something that helped me get my rv working better. The batman calibrate has 3 points it checks unlike the other game so it just works better to set up your play area and camera. And once you calibrate in batman you can easily jump into any game and your lined up perfectly.
Empty Chest you are telling your viewers to go and buy Batman VR because for some reason you think that it somehow transfers calibration data from Batman VR over to any game. Once you close a game that calibration data is gone. This is why when you play Batman VR you have to go through that process again
Its not the tracking data transferring to other games, but if batman says that you are good to go, then other games will have less problems because your setup is perfect already.
Gorilla Jones so you never had it where you're controllers are 100% directly in front of you and the game thinks its a whole foot or 2 off to the left/right? Literally this happens every day for me and there is no fix.. little info why it happens, and even Sony themselves don't know the issue
Ive got a cream leather sofa and the lights shine off the back of it which causes tracking problems so i have to sit on a chair closer to the camera and its perfect :-)
Gamer H I've tried it at night in pitch black and still nothing. hands keep swaying front and back and the screen does the same. the only thing that is spot on is the vr quick menu.
so last night we filmed a let's play with a green screen and studio light and it worked great. the light in the room isn't a problem I think with the room to dark it tracks the glow on the wall or furniture. I would close the window but leave the lights. if your room is to dark I would add a light (the first day I play with all the lights on in the day with no problems then the next day I played at night with less light and had really bad tracking problems) I hope this will help you guys. light is your friend lol
Empty Chest yeah I don't think light is the issue because first day I've played it in the afternoon with natural light worked great and at night with lamps on and worked great ever since then is it's been having issues. I don't know what else I can do so I'm just taking everything back and switching for a different one.
I had lots of drift with VR. What worked for me was: when you switch on the VR headset, leave it lying on a flat surface for 30 seconds. Give it time to initialize its gyros and compass. Aftwards you put it on and no more drift. Works great!

Thanks for the tip. Ill have to try to this out when I get the chance
+WolfplusFox Np I hope it works out for you
+Carby ya it work just not as well. Track gets messed up when you control or move controls get in front of you face. Ive had the best luck with the cam a face hight.
From my experience, It helps, if you have a piece of cake in view of the camera. Tracking is 100% accurate.
+Noob Saibot lol why didn't I think of that cake makes everything 100% better
actually funny enough someone managed to fix their tracking problem by "placing a bottle water in the middle of the camera"
I had problems where in beat saber(i dont have any onther game since i just started) and my hands kept floating away
Your camera is messed up
my cam is perfectly on the tv but it still happens to me
Clean the lens to the camera and if u want 180 vr tracking position it a foot above ur height pointing slightly down
Same
Same
It has nothing to do with the camera tracking. It's the internal gyro and accelerometer, because it also happens in cinematic mode which doesn't use the camera.

+funktastic- trials fusion this is such a great comment.
funktastic- trials fusion HI BUD
THanks for the tip using Batman i just bought it. the new game WINDLANDS has a ridiculous amount of options for tuning the VR Headset. I wish every game had the amount of options that Windlands has.
+Nalyo Gaming how is windlands?I was going to pick that up this weekend but want to know if it used the move controllers before I dive in
The headset for PlayStation vr is perfect. In my opinion they need to get better tracking and controllers
McCoy Witham definitely
If it can be improved the. It's not perfect.
Love your content!
+Rachel Dawes well thank you
Thanks for the info, I'll try this. I have a large amount of drifting, while playing games!:(
My PlayStation doesn’t let me walk around anymore in VR. Someone please help me. When I try to walk every thing shakes and my motion controllers in the games dont work either. My hands in game are way behind me and not I. The right spot.

all good points! thanks guys, I upgraded to the ps4 pro.. have had no issues, it runs even better than before!
Any new developments in fixing this? Model 2 does the same thing. I got a replacement headset thinking the one I'd gotten was defective, but the new one is having the same wobbling issue. I've tried pretty much everything except formatting my ps4 and spending 20 bucks on the batman trick.

Is dis true thou? Buying Batman vr fixes this?
I’m gonna give this a go now I hope it’s works, I woke up today and the one move controller ain’t working properly my hand on the games is shaking uncontrollably and I tried everything else so fingers crossed, I’m downloading batman now ;)

For me when I move my head, the screens just wobbles around and my hands are on the frisking opposite sides
Same I have been trying to fix it all day
When you don’t have Batman Arkham vr:sad
Hello Jayden said you had a yt and I wanted to see what it was like
Whenever I try to grab something in vr my hands get stuck on the air and will reset
The same thing
I’m trying to fix it but I can’t I don’t know what’s the problem the camera is fine and nothing is helping
i have another problem,i by a new ps4 and glassesVR,but when i want to download "the playroom VR " in the screen have this messege- "This Content cannot be selected at the this time",so what i must to do ?
+bum bam do you have playstation plus?
My hands are just all the way in the back
my control stays still or it goes bad and does not let me enjoy the games someone knows how to solve it is common that it goes crazy

Fuck! Now I gotta buy the game again! Lol
I'm having the same issues with tracking my controllers shits getting frustrating. it work perfect the first day out the box.
try shutting off the Bluetooth on your phone I hear it messes with it a bit.
Empty Chest I'll try it but the thing that I don't get why would it work flawlessly out the box and it's buggy now? my set up is the same my controllers are fully charged the room is pitch black what else does it need.

+CheeksDaFreak 305 well if you get it working let us know so we can help people get there vr working.
Im gonna try that because job simulator isn't tracking my headset right
Angry Bulldog Gaming same here man
For some reason it is always only one of my controllers that doesn’t work ( floating away from me, disappearing, etc) does anyone have a solution to this?
Yeah exactly and some time it gets stuck in one spot for a sec so I can't hold a gun properly in the walking dead
Before calibration Job Simulation was totally unplayable.
satellite964 ikr
I mean. You still can hardly play it. Because turning around, the camera will no longer detect the move controllers.
same problem happens to me perfect video
Any one have serious tracking issues with rec room ??
Yeah
Yah
i have this problem where my hands are behind me
i have never played in vr before.
graphics aren't noticeably bad, right?
+Hell Guy I think it looks great. It isn't ps4 graphics but it not to far off.
Hell Guy they are worse than non vr games, and kind of look like they would be more in a ps2 to PS3 era game, but the immersion and gameplay of actually being inside of the game makes it so worth it!

As soon as the VR switches on you won’t care as you’ll be amazed.
Looks like late era ps3 graphics if you played them on a 70 inch tv that you're sitting 6 feet in front of.
As you said yourself you need to recalibrate when you start any game so that's automatically bs. If it helps you "mentally"it does not mean it's a solution

I'll try it, I have most problems with In Death
Did it work?
a mirror behind you may work🤔
+richard stanley lol I don't that'll help
Empty Chest
lol..ima try it out..prolly won't work tho..
hopefully they'll fix the prob
+richard stanley if you have a mirror it's going to create more light for the camera to track and cause more problems
Empty Chest o ok..smh
Ive got a cream leather sofa and the lights shine off the back of it which causes tracking problems so i have to sit on a chair closer to the camera and its perfect :-)
Its not tracking in the slightest
I am in Job simulator under map why? I try everything. Heeeeeelp.
+Anonym go to your camera settings an go through the steps. This will let the cam know your background and lighting.
The tracking is fucking horrendous!!! I calibrated my controllers and headset didnt do much.
+Gamer H try turning off your TV when playing or just dimming it. If your getting to much light on the head set it can mess everything up
Gamer H I've tried it at night in pitch black and still nothing. hands keep swaying front and back and the screen does the same. the only thing that is spot on is the vr quick menu.

i powered off my ps4 and unplugged it, sorta like a reset, that helped mine. It started doing it once
when you get afford batman rip lol
get to the fucking point..!!
