I saw the Korean version "Always:" with Han Hyo Joo and So Ji Sub. It is almost identical. Even the settings and the backgrounds. One of the most beautiful love stories I have watched. Even watching a summary of the Japanese version is quite amazing
One of the best love stories I have ever seen. I saw the Korean version. The movie was so emotional especially the part when Han Hyo Joo realised the handicapped man was her ex boy friend and ran to search him. And she knew where to find him. The Japanese version uses different elements to capture thier love...a tortoise in the Korean version instead of stone in this Japanese version ....silghtly different. I watched the Korean version twice. It was so good.
@@andreasbernardi3654 Always was inspired somewhat by City Lights, yes, but they're still significantly different films, and all these remakes are remakes of Always, not City Lights.

One Kannada movie "o nanna nalle (2000)" remake of Tamil movie "Thulladha Manamum Thullum(1999)" had the similar story.. only part is main lead is not MMA fighter but he is a singer. I watched that movie countless times.. It has great drama, what a nostalgia😊.
As soon as I saw boxer and blind girl and the non-Asian name, I immediately thought of the 2011 Korean film Always, lol. Even the guy's hairstyle is the same, lol!
Why are Korean Films and other Asian films so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time? Western films are so boring, and it is easy to figure out the ending halfway through the film. Even with the English captions, pulling away from the tube only makes things harder to turn away.
Here we go again. I watched Turcish move the same script like that, after a year I found Korean version. And now it's Japany. And wich country will be the next, India?
