I think you should mix up the field with corn and some beans in different parts of the field and then have radishes for a food plot somewhere and then you would have some good hunting
Hey KG Shouting out to you from Sidney Nebraska. I had the same rifle back in the day the all mighty 30.06 auto. Got rid of it after the season was over. It's a Jammer.... If you shoot it enough you're gonna find out that it wont reject properly. I sent it back to Remington and they said it was fine. Go figure, long story short it's a nice sentimental piece because it is your dad's. Keep up your hard work, give Grammy my love. Tell Steve to wake up, I bet he's asleep right now if you were to go out. Lol😂 Best regards, Russell
If it's a 742 then yup In 30 06 it is a jamming mf, in 308 or 243 it's fine,,if it's a 7400 then that old girl will run and not ever have a hiccup in 3006
AWESOME! I’ve been working out of town for the past few months, and I look forward to watching your videos after a long shift! Please keep up the good work, I’m excited for this deer season!
The first rifle I ever bought was a used 1987 Remington 760 carbine 30/06 pump with an 18-1/2 inch barrel. I absolutely love it! To me, It's the best all-around rifle I've ever had. You can hunt anything from deer to moose with it. And yes, It is very loud and kicks pretty hard. lol.
@@gregundahood202 I love mine, I have many different rifles including a 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 Mag, .243, .308, and most of the time if I'm going into brushy or thicker areas to hunt deer, hog, elk, whatever, I grab my old trusty 760 carbine 30/06 pump and it gets the job done.
Your a legend Kendall!! We all love your videos! I’ve been watching for years; all the way back when you first came out and I watched one of your squirrel hunting videos! Thanks for another great video and God bless.
Dude heck yeah I hope your dad uses his ol rifle! Picked one up for a steal that was super clean and absolutely love it! Anything with sentimental value is so awesome.
As a older guy who had a doe run into the front of my truck last year and cost about 6k damage (i did get to keep the doe) I feel what your saying about dad at 15:45. The Remington semi-auto 30-06 was all the rage back in the 80s for sure.
My first deer rifle was a Remington Model 740 semiauto. I put a Redfield 1 & 3/4 X - 5X scope on it. My father also had a Model 740 both in 30-06. We both took several deer with them. My uncle had a Rem. Model 742 carbine which I now have. I liked it so I bought one and sold the 740. It was heavier than my uncle's and weighed 10 pounds with the scope. I shot some deer with it but it was heavy to carry all day for the mountain hunting we did. My father put a 1-4X Weaver scope on his when his eyes got older. The scope on your dad's deer is overkill unless he is hunting long beanfields down south. A short, lighter 1-4x or 1-5x would be better. My father and I both switched to a Ruger 44 Mag carbine with scope our last 5 years hunting together and each took several deer. He had cancer and carrying the Remington was hard for him. The Ruger carbine allowed him to keep on hunting because it weighed about 7 pounds with scope. A bonus we discovered was that there was almost no bloodshot meat compared to the 30-06.
I always like the see through scope mounts they are great for up close target and a running target much easier to get the open sights on them than try and get them in the scope
KG, Brother, please don't hate on that old school WOODSMASTER 30-06, it's a war hammer. Not many options for long action semiauto, that's a good design. Looking good around there, but hey, warning, don't use those cheap Harbor Freight batteries in cams because they leak! They will ruin your cam! Get the better grade at HF, they are good. Take care, Buddy!
Those 740's 742's and 760 pumps I think are the best rifles you could use I have a 742 in 30-06 and a 760 pump 75th anniversary edition that hasn't had a scope mounted. Hasn't even really been shot, just bought a new Vortex DiamondBack 3x9 for my 742 auto about like your 740. Now needs to be sighted in like you're doing so I can hopefully get to see some this year. Just bought a pair of Diamondback HD Binoculars to go along with the setup. I hope you have some luck on getting one this year, that 740 should put them down.
Ik I’m not the first comment but I like finishing the videos first. I love the effort, the quality, the time you put into videos I’ve been subbed for just over a year and a half. That’s crazy cool how they sold you a gun that isn’t even on sell to the public yet. I didn’t expect the gun to have so much kick it knocked off the scope covers
That young buck was cool, I'd like to see what he becomes in a year or two. As for that green tube, It looks like something you'd carry extra muzzleloader powder pellets in, but it looked a bit long.
Beautiful Rifle! The see through sites were for when you were in heavy cover and could not catch the target in the woods and you could see it in the see through sites. This is also a rifle that I once owned. See through sites and all!
amazing video dude i would love some more hunting with ur friends… it brings me joy watching u help ur friends hunt. i had a old friend that out me under his wing and i love to see u doing the same ❤
Nice older rifle. Very popular in the South, like here in Fla., especially during the 80’s, usually in 30-06. I have the REM.760 pump in 30-06, 70’s vintage, that shoots great.i put a 2-7X Leupold in it, perfect for close-in woods shots or across a field. Keep your scope on its lowest setting to find targets up close quickly. Those see-thru rings make you lift your cheek off the stock to see thru the scope, and it gets smacked during recoil. Low mount your scope, it really will work better.
Dude those Ole Remington autos an pumps are awesome deer guns. I still hunt with mine . You can get 10 an I hear 20 rd mags for them . Very popular rifles in the big north woods . I know guys in Maine Michigan Wisconsin that use them. In my home state they are still very popular lots of folks use them.
Younger kids don't like hunting anymore more people should get into it thanks Kendall gray for showing me how good hunting is more kids should watch your videos thanks
Get rid of the tunnel scope mount and you'll be able to get your cheek down on the stock. I've got a 30-06 760 which is the pump version of the rifle. Yes, it still kicks even with the scope low down.......but there's no drama............
Casually cuts open a corn beg with machete also killed my biggest buck Saturday also love the older type of videos like the crocs and going back to backwoods and the shooting range 😂 and did i hear elk hunt😮 10/10 vid
My dads first gun got me hooked on them. He’s got a mossberg 500 wingmaster I believe. The one with the wood grain. He went on a dove hunt with college friends and all he did was blow up a rabbit. My friends dad has the coolest old guns, he has a single shot lever action .22lr and a bottom loading bottom ejecting single shot 12 gauge pump. I don’t know if it just has a breech tube or what but it’s so dope
This is awesome. My uncle has my great grandfathers Remington 760 and I’ve been debating on asking him what he’s going to do with it for years. This might actually drive me to do that
Kendall can we please collab I have been watching for so long and do almost all the stuff you do Also you probably havent seen me but i have commented on almost all your videos
Old Remington seesaw. The down side is the 742. But on the upside rests the 760. There is a reason a lot of gun shops won't even take the semi auto on trade. The pump has a stellar reputation. I have owned several of each but will never touch another 742. If you want an 06 sa, go with the BAR or R1. Most savvy old gun owners know this to be fact.
Those scope rings are called over and under scope rings. Just like you used it is how it’s supposed to be used. They work great if your walking through the woods and don’t have time to find a deer in the scope
It would probably attract more deer and feed more deer if you kept that field mowed for hay. They like the new grass coming up a lot more than the old stuff that is allowed to go to seed and in all those woods they have plenty of cover already. The best food plot for deer is a good hay field that is kept mowed. They like all that new grass and clover.
Kg if you burry a salt block about a foot under ground the deer will smell it and dig for the dissolved salt and will keep coming back more consistently.
Excited to be making vlogs again! This is awesome!!!
I’m also from Kentucky and got a deer on muzzleloader weekend with iron sights at 80 yards
On the gaming channel u should play my summer car
You gonna hunt with it?
Is Bucky still alive. You have not spoken about him
I think you should mix up the field with corn and some beans in different parts of the field and then have radishes for a food plot somewhere and then you would have some good hunting
That old woods master is a fine rifle!

AWESOME! I’ve been working out of town for the past few months, and I look forward to watching your videos after a long shift! Please keep up the good work, I’m excited for this deer season!

All that wasted powder with the short barrel.
@@duckwacker8720 I've never had any problem shooting 2-3-400 yards with it, so it's not a waste to me.
760/7600 are the kings of north east hunting.. generally in the woods we hunt your shots are under 100 yards

Nut up Skippy. Yall been shooting 6.5 Creedmore. a Rem Semi 30'06 is standard in the deer woods.
