I think you should mix up the field with corn and some beans in different parts of the field and then have radishes for a food plot somewhere and then you would have some good hunting
My first deer rifle was a Remington Model 740 semiauto. I put a Redfield 1 & 3/4 X - 5X scope on it. My father also had a Model 740 both in 30-06. We both took several deer with them. My uncle had a Rem. Model 742 carbine which I now have. I liked it so I bought one and sold the 740. It was heavier than my uncle's and weighed 10 pounds with the scope. I shot some deer with it but it was heavy to carry all day for the mountain hunting we did. My father put a 1-4X Weaver scope on his when his eyes got older. The scope on your dad's deer is overkill unless he is hunting long beanfields down south. A short, lighter 1-4x or 1-5x would be better. My father and I both switched to a Ruger 44 Mag carbine with scope our last 5 years hunting together and each took several deer. He had cancer and carrying the Remington was hard for him. The Ruger carbine allowed him to keep on hunting because it weighed about 7 pounds with scope. A bonus we discovered was that there was almost no bloodshot meat compared to the 30-06.
That young buck was cool, I'd like to see what he becomes in a year or two. As for that green tube, It looks like something you'd carry extra muzzleloader powder pellets in, but it looked a bit long.
I always like the see through scope mounts they are great for up close target and a running target much easier to get the open sights on them than try and get them in the scope
I put good glass and same mounts on dad's 742 Remington, just like that one , he'd give to baby brother, I wore my 742 woodmaster out , so I. Went to the 760 pump carbine 3006. It's a grocery getting rig with Leopold scope
Kendall can we please collab I have been watching for so long and do almost all the stuff you do Also you probably havent seen me but i have commented on almost all your videos
Pretty sure its a model 742 woodsman, not a 740, but i could be wrong. I have the exact same rifle, though, and its a 742. Great gun ususlly. A lot of them develop excessive headspace in the chamber ive heard.
Love them old Remington 7400 and 7600 rifles just got mine sighted in for gun opener this weekend Also gotten be careful with the 7400 there known to jam and have problems with feeding a lot you need to keep them clean and don’t shoot a lot with it it’s got a lot of problems need to do some research on them
I have a Remington 742 automatic 30.06 just like your dads. I hadn't shot it in 20 yrs and took it to the gun range without cleaning after it had sat so long. The first shot the brass stuck and would not eject due to rust in the chamber. The on-site gunsmith had to hammer on the receiver to get it freed up and it ended up breaking off one the the teeth on the ejector. Give it a good cleaning before putting it to heavy use and you should be fine.@@KendallGrayVlogs
See through scope rings were cool 40 years ago but hardly anyone still uses them. However I saw some at Walmart not too long ago. Apparently somebody's using them.
Hey KG Shouting out to you from Sidney Nebraska. I had the same rifle back in the day the all mighty 30.06 auto. Got rid of it after the season was over. It's a Jammer.... If you shoot it enough you're gonna find out that it wont reject properly. I sent it back to Remington and they said it was fine. Go figure, long story short it's a nice sentimental piece because it is your dad's. Keep up your hard work, give Grammy my love. Tell Steve to wake up, I bet he's asleep right now if you were to go out. Lol😂 Best regards, Russell
If it's a 742 then yup In 30 06 it is a jamming mf, in 308 or 243 it's fine,,if it's a 7400 then that old girl will run and not ever have a hiccup in 3006
Those 740's 742's and 760 pumps I think are the best rifles you could use I have a 742 in 30-06 and a 760 pump 75th anniversary edition that hasn't had a scope mounted. Hasn't even really been shot, just bought a new Vortex DiamondBack 3x9 for my 742 auto about like your 740. Now needs to be sighted in like you're doing so I can hopefully get to see some this year. Just bought a pair of Diamondback HD Binoculars to go along with the setup. I hope you have some luck on getting one this year, that 740 should put them down.
Kg if you burry a salt block about a foot under ground the deer will smell it and dig for the dissolved salt and will keep coming back more consistently.
Your a legend Kendall!! We all love your videos! I’ve been watching for years; all the way back when you first came out and I watched one of your squirrel hunting videos! Thanks for another great video and God bless.
AWESOME! I’ve been working out of town for the past few months, and I look forward to watching your videos after a long shift! Please keep up the good work, I’m excited for this deer season!
My dads first gun got me hooked on them. He’s got a mossberg 500 wingmaster I believe. The one with the wood grain. He went on a dove hunt with college friends and all he did was blow up a rabbit. My friends dad has the coolest old guns, he has a single shot lever action .22lr and a bottom loading bottom ejecting single shot 12 gauge pump. I don’t know if it just has a breech tube or what but it’s so dope
Younger kids don't like hunting anymore more people should get into it thanks Kendall gray for showing me how good hunting is more kids should watch your videos thanks
Dude heck yeah I hope your dad uses his ol rifle! Picked one up for a steal that was super clean and absolutely love it! Anything with sentimental value is so awesome.
KG, Brother, please don't hate on that old school WOODSMASTER 30-06, it's a war hammer. Not many options for long action semiauto, that's a good design. Looking good around there, but hey, warning, don't use those cheap Harbor Freight batteries in cams because they leak! They will ruin your cam! Get the better grade at HF, they are good. Take care, Buddy!
Excited to be making vlogs again! This is awesome!!!
I’m also from Kentucky and got a deer on muzzleloader weekend with iron sights at 80 yards
On the gaming channel u should play my summer car
You gonna hunt with it?
Is Bucky still alive. You have not spoken about him
I think you should mix up the field with corn and some beans in different parts of the field and then have radishes for a food plot somewhere and then you would have some good hunting
u should collaborate with kentucky ballistics
i was about to message that
We need a gully washer for like 3 days in a row so my foodplot looks good cause I’d hate to be lookin like a Desert in December
Super cool video man!! We want more gun videos!! Greets from 🇨🇦

Love the vid man
Getting back to basics awesome .

KENDALL you NEED to use a boar site to site in your scopes I have one and it works GREAT and it saves the money on bullets!!!
I always like the see through scope mounts they are great for up close target and a running target much easier to get the open sights on them than try and get them in the scope
that buck you seen for your small hunt is going to be a stud in a few years😅
I LOVE THE VIDEOS KG
I love going through my subscriptions and seeing that KG posted something
I put good glass and same mounts on dad's 742 Remington, just like that one , he'd give to baby brother, I wore my 742 woodmaster out , so I. Went to the 760 pump carbine 3006. It's a grocery getting rig with Leopold scope
Hey Kendall. Rig up irrigation for your food plot. That’d work.
Your telling me Bucky is still here!?!?!??? He is probably a monster now
I love your videos keep up the good work

Remington 742 Woodsmaster is the best 30.06 auto loader I ever owned.
i dont care what other people say but Kendall is the best youtuber ever
I used to have an old wwII gem 98 30.06. If you shot more then 6 rounds in a row it would give you a headache.
That chicken fried rice is from Sam's club and it is 🔥. I eat some at least 3 times a week for lunch.
Pretty sure its a model 742 woodsman, not a 740, but i could be wrong. I have the exact same rifle, though, and its a 742. Great gun ususlly. A lot of them develop excessive headspace in the chamber ive heard.

FIRE!!!
The yellow thing is a plug for a shotgun so you can only fit 3 rounds
Isn't that the same gun the CIA.. I mean uh James Ray Earl shot MLK with? Not to be confused with James Earl Ray, the Voice of Darth Vader.

My Dad's 742 .30.06 was deadly pinpoint accurate and never jammed.

It's time for a Flair vs KG catch, clean, cookoff!
That would be insane
_This was a🔥🔥video!_
*_10MM is an amazing pistol caliber! It's performance is second to none!!! (😅Thats a blackbear round!)_*
That old woods master is a fine rifle!
DEER SLAYER!
Those 740's 742's and 760 pumps I think are the best rifles you could use I have a 742 in 30-06 and a 760 pump 75th anniversary edition that hasn't had a scope mounted.
