Damn man i feel for you, crashed my 33 the exact same way at a drift event. Took 7 months to get back on the road using a donor front cut, painting the bay, new panels and engine back in but was well worth it. Might seem super daunting and overwhelming but i promise you you'll get it back out there again just gotta believe and trust the process.
I know the feels bro. Crunched my Genny on the passenger side avoiding another driver while they fell asleep at the wheel. It was down for a couple of weeks but a little patience went a long way. Sucks to see that police spend most of their time harassing enthusiast instead of actual criminals just like they do here in the US. Just take your time with the comeback, don't get overwhelmed, and you'll be back sliding in no time. Piece by piece, like a puzzle.
i came here from instagram and i loved your car because my freind had a s13 with ssr mk1s and it made me love s13 more so finding your youtube channel made my day so much better
Try cleaning the seatbelts, sometimes can make a night and day change when it comes to retracting, just have a hot soapy bucket of water like 20l and fully extend your original belts and have the material sit in there for an hour or so then take them out, dry them or leave them out to dry then try it
i live in Nürburg but I visited California early 2024, i had my Lancia shipped for a car show and it was defected about 2 weeks later for having a bunch of aftermarket modifications, i left California pretty quick after they said i couldnt drive it until i took all the stuff off.
Keep your head up bro, do the best what you can do! don't beat yourself up man laugh and see the fun in everything. there will be ups and down days. don't hold yourself back and reach out and ask for help. you might feel like you lost your identity for awhile. but keep us posted on the process i wanna see a new video asap cur!
4:50 dumb question but where’d you find that vent cup holder? Never seen one that works for big cans like that, only the small “JDM” ones Also listening to Halo while driving, what a vibe
It was just a $20 holder from Supercheap Auto. Idk if there’s an equivalent in the US but the listing is called “Cabin Crew Drink Holder - Extra Large Black”
@@brian13zzz yeah we don’t have anything like that stateside. I did find the listing but they don’t ship to the US. The hunt continues haha. Thank you tho! Hopefully the rebuild goes smoothly
algorithm randomly recommended me this vid so i think you must have some momentum / good karma coming your way mate. Interesting video, good edits and vlog style. I liked your enthusiasm with fixing the defect issues prior to the crash, keeping high spirits and working through the issues on your own. Subscribed keep up the video work mate
Happens man, that’s why you don’t thrash cars you love, get a real track car, something you have little to no emotional value in and get as good as you can with that, then you can start beating on cars you actually like.
I think it just naturally progressed to have sentimental value. I first bought this thing almost impulsively for 5k and didn't know how to drive manual/knew nothing about cars and now it's taught me everything I know about cars haha
Nah I coincidentally blew a seal in my welded diff at a drift event so I swapped it out. I had an OEM LSD in when I got sent to the defect station so that was all good.
I have a love hate relationship with Australia, I love the country and the sights to see, but I hate our coppers and the nanny restrictions on cars. I'm not saying we should be allowed to drive cars with rotting frames and missing wheels, but I do think our restrictions on cars are some of the worst in the world when a turbo is enough to get you a defect from a cop who wouldn't know a factory turbo from a bolt on.
Seems to be mostly a problem in Victoria and NSW, here in WA rarely do you see modded cars get defected unless they've involved in hooning and we don't have annual inspections or anything like that, I've heard SA has even weaker restrictions.
Scrambled 🍳
It's a shame the police spend so much time being anti-motorist. They must have solved all the other crime.

Yea it’d be a rocky road for sure. I’m mainly worried about the bent frame and if I can manage it DIY… I’m so broke rn 😂
man jamming to anberlin while drifting, amazing
Sandwich cross section went CRAZY. You'll get it back together I'm sure, good luck m8.
Thank u!~ sandwich was goooood hahha

ik it’s regulations but that poke is so minuscule. It’s like they have nothing better to do
Really enjoyed watching this video, keep it up man. And good luck rebuilding the front

With the taillights, the little bits where the ground screws go into the plastic can be an issue too :) :)
drifting to plastic love is the real dream

huge fan of your videography style. fisheye makes everything amazing.
Thanks! Tried a more casual GoPro/iPhone route instead of using my proper camera for this video haha

did you get defected for a welded diff or are you running a lsd. sorry new to the channel

Do you mind me asking how you film camera and lens ?
The fisheye videos are GoPro Hero 9 with Max lens mod and the others are just recorded on iPhone
Nice iv heard about that Gopro Setup before might have pick one up. I really like the style of the vids keep the great work upp
What camera and what fish eye lens are you using ?
It’s a GoPro 9 with the max lens mod
tube front? lol hoping u have a HUGE comeback for next year
Last resort maybe. Tube front means it wont be able to be road registered so it’d be a dedicated track car. I hope so too haha 😅
As i said man, need any help holla and just follow the manual i emailed and you will be fine!
Cheers Matt, appreciate it 💛
I mean that sucks
But it doesn’t look like you bent the Frame so I think it’s okay.
